Howdy Sheez, What if you read the PDF file with the Jaws OCR feature instad of Openbook? Would this possibly read the file better? I'm just throwing this out there since I don't use Widows 10 / Edge as my main computer / browser. Take care. Mike. Go Dodgers! Sennt from my iBarstool. Re: [JAWS-Users] word 2016 protected mode
Hi Mr. Ed, This command goes to the Backstage view or File tab and there, in the Info tab, presses the Enable Editing button. Regarding why many documents open in Protected View by default, this is the case for files saved with the Office 97-2003 formats whose file extensions hadn't a final x or m. Since these files could contain macros with no way to know at a glance if this was the case, and because macros may be an important security risk as this is executable code inside the document, by default Office 2010 and latter open files from e-mail, Internet or potentially unsafe locations like removable drives in Protected View, which disables any macros and other similar technologies until you expressly authorize to work with the file at its full. This is not the case for the new file types whose extensions have a final x or m, because files ending with x, unlike those ending with m, cannot contain macros. You can, of course, disable this for all documents in the Trust Center Settings dialog for each Office program separately. Hope it helps! -Original Message- From: JAWS-Users-ListOn Behalf Of Mr. Ed Sent: Wednesday, April 18, 2018 8:20 PM To: jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] word 2016 protected mode Hi, Could you please tell me what each of these key commands do? key command is alt f I then e to get out of protective mode I would like to know what each of these key commands do when I press them so I can understand what menu button I am selecting. From: adam morris Column presentation Go to the message list. go to the very top of it with the home key. enable touch cursor, now go left until you hear select columns to display... button. Press enter. This opens the menu allowing you to check and uncheck columns. If you want to rearrange the columns, go left past that button and you'll find the header items like subject and the like. Find the one you want to move, press the keystroke to lock mouse button, with laptop layout that would be shift caps lock num row 8. then left or right to the colum you'd like to place this before and press the mouse lock toggle again. Note that the columns are read in the same order regardless of their actual position when using touch cursor. You'll have to try to move it, then go back to pc cursor and navigate the list of messages to see if you did it. If it fails, try dragging other columns around the one want to move instead and see if that works. It's a bit messy but can be done with a little time and a big dose of patients. Once you have a folder set up, you may want to assign that folder's column view settings to all folders, this is available in that button that says choose which columns to display near the bottom says something like apply to folder, you can apply it to your entire email account that way if you want to. [JAWS-Users] fast copy
I started to take a closer look at this program and it does have some important advantages over some older comparable programs for backing up files ETC. For example it is much faster than Karen's’ replicator which for me has been the gold standard for many years already. The rub is its’ help file is roughly as useful as a screen door in a submarine. Specifically where it comes to creating multiple jobs is my current stumbling block along with another item or so, but I like to tackle one thing at a time. So if anybody out there has some pointers or better documentation I would appreciate having a look myself. Thanks in advance. I have not been able to use the drag and drop capability in MS Word, and I think it would require some sight to be able to do this. Have you considered looking for a program that allows you to input the data in text format, and then have it create the org chart?
