[JAWS-Users] JAWS crashing

2017-03-31 Thread Adam Ferguson
Hi all.

Recently, whilst using JAWS at work, the program has been crashing
unpredictably. Is anyone aware of an issue which could be causing
this to happen? I am currently using JAWS 18.0.2530 and windows 10.

Thanks,

Adam.

[JAWS-Users] Excel question

2017-03-29 Thread Adam Ferguson
Hi all.

Just a quick question. How might I be able to put text from
individual cells in Excel into a virtual viewer? To put it into some
kind of context, I want to check the spelling of words but, at
present, the arrow keys are navegating between cells, not between the
characters within a cell.

I hope this makes sense.

Thanks in advance,

Adam.

Blank, A1 through A1.

I have also tried the F5 suggestion.

that sounds possible. There are two other sheets which are perfectly

[JAWS-Users] Excel spreadsheet

2017-03-22 Thread Adam Ferguson
Hi all.

I am having some trouble with an Excel spreadsheet at work and was
wondering if anyone could help.

When I attempt to navegate the spreadsheet JAWS doesn't seem to
interact at all with it. JAWS isn't even announcing coordinates. I
can enable JAWS cursor which tells me that there is information there
but it doesn't really make sense. All other spreadsheets seem to be
working fine. I am using JAWS 18 (latest version), Windows 10 and MS
Office 2010.

Many thanks in advance,

Adam.

[JAWS-Users] Anti-virus software

I appreciate that this question has probably been asked numerous times
before so I apologise.

What, from your experience, is the best anti-virus software in
relation to compatibility with JAWS? If it makes any difference I am
currently running Windows 10 and JAWS 18 Pro.

Many thanks as always,

Adam.

Re: [JAWS-Users] Another Excel question

2016-12-16 Thread Adam Ferguson
thanks for your reply George. I don't think I explained my problem
very well though.

Whereas in my example I had a formula adding together the values in A1
and B1 to give an answer in C1, I then want to repeat this process on
row 2, adding together a2 and B2 to give me an answer in C2. However
I don't want to write out the formula each time down the C column.

I hope this makes more sense.

Adam.

2016-12-16 Thread Adam Ferguson
Hello.

Thank you to everyone who has shared information relating to my
question about copying columns in Excel. I now have a different
question which I can't find an answer for online.

Is it possible to copy a formula so that its references are relative
to where it is placed? A simple example would be if I had a formula
in C1 so I could add together A1 and B1 but then wanted to repeat this
for all rows to 20. I don't really want to keep typing out the same
formula 20 tyimes.

Many thanks,

Adam.

Re: [JAWS-Users] Another Excel question

2016-12-15 Thread Adam Ferguson
I think that I have an answer to my own questions, although it doesn't
really help with the problem.

I think that multiple columns are being selected as columns are merged
together for titles/headings etc.

Adam.

Thank you for clearing that up Gene. Unfortunatley it is still really
confusing me as pressing control+space appears to be highlighting
columns A through U rather than just the one I need. This problem is
really beginning to bug me!

Hi both, thanks for the tips.

I have one question though. when I hit control+space then go through
the above steps I end up copying the entire spreadsheet rather than
just an individual column. How might I fix this?

Thanks,

Hi again everyone.

I have another question regarding Excel which I can't find a solution for.

I have to copy certain columns from a spreadsheet onto another,
smaller spreadsheet. How would I go about doing this? If it makes
the question easier to answer I require columns A, I, J, K and L.

Many thanks in advance for your wonderful help.

How can we switch between tabs on an Excel worksheet using JAWS? This
is a problem which is really frustrating me and which I suspect there
is a very simple answer for.

Hello.

I apologise if I have upset or offended anyone by posting incorrectly
or inappropriately.

Firstly I have no idea why my signature was at the top of my email.
This never happens; it is usually at the end.

Secondly, I don't know what happened with my previous reply. When I
hit reply and wrote the message it was there. I didn't do this
intentionally to upset anyone or to be awkward.

Thirdly I have a valid reason for needing the authorisation number but
if anyone is really that bothered as to why I do, then here is my
reason. My manager at work thinks it would be a good idea for me to
put my copy of JAWS 18 Pro onto my personal laptop in case the need
arises for me to work from home. As the authorisation CD is 200 miles
away in London with my company's IT department. I just thought it
might be simpler if I asked on here if there was a way to retrieve it.
I apologise if that reason isn't good enough for anyone.

Once again, many thanks for your assistance.

Adam.

Hi all.

Just a brief question.

Is there any way of finding out your full authorisation number without
having the JAWS packaging? At the minute the best I can do is the
first 7 characters followed by 13 *.

Thanks,

Adam.

[JAWS-Users] Signatures in Outlook

2016-11-24 Thread Adam Ferguson
Hi all.

I wonder if anyone can help.

I am trying to add a signature in Outlook 2010 and am having
difficulty in achieving this. As this will be for my work email I
want to include contact details at the end of the message but, as far
as I can tell, I can only include my name. Ideally I would like it to
be in the following format.

Name
Job title
Work phone
work address

When I hit 'enter' after my name it just leaves the edit box.

Any help which you can offer will be very much appreciated.

Adam.

[JAWS-Users] JAWS and Citrix

2016-10-27 Thread Adam Ferguson
Hi.

Just wondering if anyone on the list has experience of using JAWS with
Citrix? This morning I took delivery of a new PC running JAWS 17
Professional but I'm struggling to get my head around navigating
Citrix.

Many thanks in advance.

Adam.

[JAWS-Users] Home Vs Professional

2016-10-14 Thread Adam Ferguson
Hello.

I am writing with what I hope is quite a simple question.

I have recently started a new job and will soon be using JAWS
professional for the first time. My question is what differences, if
any, should I expect from the Home edition? I will be receiving some
training but that probably won't be until a few weeks after I receive
JAWS and I obviously want to be as productive as possible for my new
employer.

Any help will, of course, be gratefully received.

Many thanks,

Adam.
