[JAWS-Users] Upgrading to IE8

Hi
I guess I must finally give in and upgrade from IE6. Many sights won't
support IE6 any longer. When I do this, are there any things I must be
careful to do or not do? How well will it work with Jaws 10? Thank you for
helping this chicken.

Go on the site and download startup manager and make life easy by just
holding down the control key and d for disable and e for enable.
It is the lazy way of doing things. Been using this little program for
years. Also look in the start up folder under programs and see what is in
there.

And go to your run dialog type in msconfig and enter and find the list of
all the stuff that startsup in your computer arrow down that list and
uncheck whatever you don't feel needs to run at startup, see what's in
 your
sys-tray and look over the list stuff like your printer, OCR if you have
one, any type of media players*winamp or windows media, I have 3 things in
my systems tray..Norton, Jaws, and that thing for safely removing or

 Hi,

Not sure about your second question, but i can easily answer your first
 one.
Either go to the JAWS window by alt tabbing, or press insert J to go to
 the
context menu. In there, go to options, then basics. In basics, there's a
check box labled run JAWS from system tray. tab to that box and press
 space
bar to check it. Press enter to save the change and close the dialogue,
 then
restart JAWS to apply the change.

 Hope this helps,

First, my jaws upgrade is in the task bar all the time, so when I alt
 tab,
it is always there. I know there is a way to put it in the system tray
 ,
but if it's on the jaws users page, I must be missing it. Next, when we
put stuff back on my computer after the crash, I have all these things
 in
my system tray, that I don't know what they are and don't think I use
them. How do I determine what they are, if I need them and how to get
 rid
of them if I don't? I also have some icons on my desk top that I'm not
sure if I need them or not. Truly confused here.
