Re: [JAWS-Users] David Ferrin web page link
hey Dave, you took the pot shot ...if you now look at the bottom of the email it is my email that you were answering ...so, think again. I don't bother any one here ...I made the mistake of inquiring of a possible new website that I thought was yours and wanted to check it out ...and I get Trish's reply to check the bottom of the email ...which is no answer at all ..since I already know of the existing website ...and then you take a pot shot and say you need to quit life and lists to tgo play electronic golf ...hey, not my fault ... Thanks. patrick In a touch I find a world with you I never knew. There are so many things I find i never found before. About a week or 10 days ago, ESPN made modifications to how they expose sports results in an effort to block many different products that had been tapping into ESPN to get the info in real time and display it. We believe this was done in an effort to get more organizations to purchase access to the data and prevent anyone from getting it otherwise. This will not only impact MLB on Research It, but all of the sports. We have been investigating the MLB site itself and many other places like YAHOO but so far, have not found any site that exposes the information away that will work. We are also reaching out to ESPN and trying to explain who we are and what we are doing in order to see if we can get them to work with us. If any of you who use Research It to get access to daily scores would be willing, please write to them at: https://r.espn.go.com/members/contact/index Please be polite and remember, they are not targeting JAWS and Research It when they make these changes. It would be helpful to explain to them how beneficial it has been to use Research It in order to get the scores and schedules without having to weed through all the extra information presented on very busy web pages. I posted a question to FS about how to determine the number of activation keys remaining. In case any of you wanted to find out, here are their instructions, verbatim: Thank you for contacting Freedom Scientific Support. We suggest going to FSACTIVATE.com http://www.fsactivate.com 2. Click on the continue product activation button. 3. Down arrow to: Verify the number of activation keys available for your Freedom Scientific product and press enter. 4. Down arrow to serial number and again down arrow to edit. Type in your JAWS serial number and press enter on the submit button. 5. Underneath the first seven digits of the authorization number, you will find the number of keys remaining. If you have any additional questions, please don't hesitate to contact us. Hope this helps. Re: [JAWS-Users] New XM Radio Channel Guide
Hi, What I did for the new channel line up is go to the site where it is located and I copied and pasted what channels I always listen to and then pasted it into a word document. The downloadable list I couldn't get to work either - and I'm ususing xp and vista so I just dropped that idea. As you listen to the list from online the first channel is the old channel and the next number you hear is the new. for instance, 50 30 50 is the old for the Loft, and 30 is the new for the Loft. I'd send you my list but it only has about 20 channels listed as I don't bother with much more than that. If you are a baseball fan the channels remain the same- 176 through 189. Re: [JAWS-Users] Sorry, but I need to rant about v12 of JAWS!
Wow, I agree. This is the worst. I think they put out this build just to get some cash flow - it was put out before its time. Basically, it is a rip off. They should be ashamed of themselves for rippping us off. Come on FS! Get it together. Good morning, I've been a supporter of JAWS since version 2.x. Always have stayed up-to-date on my SMA. Never have I been totally dismayed with a major update until version 12.x. This has got to be the worst release of JAWS I've ever tried. First graphics it use to read as so, it now recognizes them as buttons. Quite irritating when you use quick navigation keys to jump to certain elements of a web page to read it faster. And it is quite the memory hog! JAWS 12.x crashes so much on my high-end Windows 7 machine, I've gone back to using 11.x. Think it has something to do with the Virtual Ribbon or new fangled Config manager, who knows. Anycase, it is very irritating to be reading a web page, only to have it go silent for 3 minutes, and then JAWS comes back. Sorry HJ, but I hate v12 of JAWS and have gone back to using v11.x perminantly. It's more stable and doesn't crash every 5 minutes. Wish you allowed us to switch the config manager back to the old one. Do away with using this new Virtual Ribbon. Give us a choice to switch them on and off. If I get booted for expressing my feelings on this list, so be it. Never done this before, until now. Feel better getting this off my chest. Thanks for listening.
