[JAWS-Users] Verbosity Level question
Hello all Not sure how to explain this but forgive me if I goof up. Ok, I have folders on my documents On several folder it will say where this folder is located, for example (music documents( Yesdterday it did not say documents after the folder and now it does. Also on my outlook if I press the f12 to save the post and I am going letter by letter to save it, jaws will continuesly read the entire line where it didn't read the entire line yesterday jus want I was copying. For example Subject line: Santas Workshop, Chocolate cake I press f12 and just want to copy chocolate cake. All the while jaws is saying santas workshop chocolate cake I hope this makes sense. [JAWS-Users] language and Jaws
Hi I have a folder in my documents where I save friend and family's home addresses. For some of these addresses, Jaws will talk to me in Spanish, but just the numbers. Not all of them just a few of them. How can I correct this to where I want everything in English? Like I said it doesn't happen to all of them just a handful. There is speaking grace. [JAWS-Users] edit fields
Hi everyone I am not sure how to explain what I need here so forgive me if I sound a bit dinngy. smile When I go to (for example) google on my internet browser and I am looking for something, I would have to press the space bar to activate the edit field and a little pop sound would be heard. I didn't mind that. Now everytime I reach a edit field little pops sound. The same for my face book, the only time I would hear a little pop sound is when I needed to type something in a edit field. Now as soon as I reach a edit field popping sounds are blasting off My question is, is there a way where I can get that popping sound to just sound when I want to type in a edit field with out all the excess popping sounds? I know it sounds kind of everywhere but I don't know how to express what I need or want and what is happening. FYI I use a Del Desk top, 64 Jaws 14 Office/outlook 2010 And I use internet browser. Thanks if any help can be suggested Ok I forgot to say that I know it's in the jaws settings but how do I get there and what do I check and or uncheck? Sugar There is speaking grace. [JAWS-Users] Contact list
Hello friends I am using Windows 7, windows/outlook 2010, Jaws 14 on a Del desk top 64 My question is, how can I get Jaws to read my contacts on my outlook? I had a tech person)AT)fix my outlook yesterday because it was not working correctly. It is working fine as of today; however when I press control and the number 1 on key board my contacts are not being read to me. I know they are there because if I create a new e mail the contact person will be there. So maybe they are hidden somewhere? Any help would be appreciated. Sugar There is speaking grace. Hi Sugar. That combination is the default hotkey combination for re-launching Jaws. I use that on Jaws 14 but as I use Jaws 15 mainly now I can't use the same combination, I now use Control/shift and J. When it comes to temporarly stopping speach such as when the phone goes or someone talks to you or you want to listen to some music and don't want your screen reader to start chattering right in the middle then you can just mute the synthe and that saves the hassle of closing down Jaws and then the same when launching it. As I said, I use the Screenshot key for this purpose as it is a key I never use so when the phone goes or I want to listen to some music I just hit that key and it says speech off and then speech on. If you already know this then sorry for being a pain. [JAWS-Users] Happy Thanksgiving from Sugar
Hi everyone Here is a huge hug and smooch from Sugar! Wishing you and yours to be fully blessed today as we gather with our loved ones, and friends to thank our Lord for such life full of blessings, freedoms and to also pray and think of those who are not as fortunate as we are. So as you gather at your table, or wherever you may be to give thanks, remember to say a little prayer for those who do not have family or friends. Lord bless and keep you always in his grasp. Sugar Your friend always and sis in Christ I can see, and that is why I can be happy, in what you call the dark, but which to me is golden. I've had this trouble a couple of times. The problem I found was despite everything I did I couldn't get rid of it because outlook kept trying to send but it was too large. What you have to do is Go to your file menu and click on Work offline then close outlook and wait for around 60 to 90 seconds to be sure the programme has completely shut down. Now re-launch outlook and go to your outbox and delete the file, you should find it goes this time. Once it has gone, you can then go back to your menu and click on Work Online and that should solve the problem, it has done so for me but I was working on XP but the principle should still apply. I've been a JAWS user since version 5.0 came out, and have license for version 10 which doesn't run under windows 7, so I've heard, and so I downloaded version 14.0.6005 build for 64-bit systems as a 40 minute demo since I'm not authorized to use this version fully on an HP G72 Windows 7 64-bit Home Premium laptop and I've discovered a very annoying issue which I've tried to solve using the below method from Freedom Scientific about 6 times now and I'd like to know what your thoughts are regarding this issue and I'm so sorry if this topic comes up often, but since I'm new to this list, I'd like your opinions regarding trouble-shooting this issue, please? Thanks in advance for your suggestions. So I downloaded the latest demo version of the 64-bit version of JAWS version 14, that being build 6005 in English, saved it to my C drive so I skipped that step outlined in the directions from Freedom Scientific, then I ran the executable and followed the prompts using the NVDA screen reader since the talking installer didn't work, then I rebooted the pc like one always has to when installing JAWS and I loaded JAWS and got this error: JAWS A file required by the driver ELOQ.JLS for Eloquence Software could not be loaded. One or more shared components are missing. Please reinstall this product in an effort to resolve the problem. OK so I pressed ok and followed the repair switch from the run dialog box: pressed windows r then typed in C:\J14.0.6005ENU-64bit.exe /typerepair and pressed enter and followed the prompts spoken by NVDA since the talking installer requires Eloquence to speak since it wouldn't speak, and still no go, I still get the same error and I've done the whole process 6 times now. I'm officially stumped! Can anyone help me please with this issue? You can write me offlist at cdrobles...@gmail.com as to not clutter up this list thank you again for your service.
