Have you tried the Native fax and scan in vista? It works a bit like
Outlook

Express.

Type Fax and scan in to the search box.

Hi
Unfortunately it's not available in any of the vista home versions.
Only Business,
Enterprise Ultimate.
If you need faxing capabilities, you would have to find 3rd party fax
software

take care...

[JAWS-Users] .doc files

2012-03-05 Thread freijac
Hi list. My new computer did not have microsoft word installed, so I am using
wordpad. Can anyone recommend a free program that converts .doc files to .txt
files that is jaws friendly,, or some other solution short of purchasing Word?
Thanks in advance for help.

Hi Mike. How exactly do I assign wordpad to read .doc files? When I try to
open a .doc file with wordpad, I just get a garbled mess. Thanks.

Howdy Freijac,

You can assign WordPad to read .DOC files if you have already done
this,

try selecting all the text from the Word / WordPad file paste into a
NotePad / text file, saving it, naming it appropriately. This will work
for you, until you can get a conversion program. Hope this helps. Take
care.
 Mike

Hi John,
Is it possible that there have been no updates?
Recently john wrote:
Hi list. I suddenly stopped getting voice messages with avast such as
virus definitions are updated. I went to the avast settings sounds tab
and all the boxes are checked and enabled, and the avast voices are
present in the sound effects in control panel, and work when I click the
test button. I am using avast 5.0.677. vista, and jfw 10. Has anyone any
suggestions? Thanks in advance.
