Hi,

I am using convenient OCR on adobe reader. When I use it with any pdf
document, I find the text runs together and I have a feeling it skips pages
with the most recent document I'm using. Can I fix this? I use the zoom
feature, I have tried it at a maximum of 200% which makes the text separated
somewhat, but I would like it to read more accurately. I have also maximised
the window. I have even pressed control 1.

Thanks.

The S is for screen and the W is for window. Now the only
thing I can figure the difference would be if what you were
performing OCR on was not the size of the entire screen.
Today I used the W for window as I figured it was one of
those install screens which if I remember when I had sight

les time than the w. Probably if one didn't work I would try
the other. This is just my opinion on what the difference is
and I may be way off.

I've never been able to make convenient OCR work. When I hit Insert-Space,

Nothing else happens. On this machine I'm running public beta 3.

I've always had an Internet connection when I installed JAWS 13 public

installed JAWS 13, as long as there was an Internet connection.

Any thoughts or suggestions on what I might be doing wrong?

Many thanks.

Hi,

After you hear 'JAWS", you should use the JAWS cursor to go up and down the
page to read the text.

JAWS will have a different voice to the OCR text.

I wish you success!

Hi

Convenient OCR only seems to speak started and finished if the User
Verbosity mode is set to beginner or intermediate. When verbosity is set
to

advanced, JAWS says OCR when you press JAWSKey+space and then The next
thing it says is JAWS if it found any text. If it didn't find readable
text, Jaws says nothing in advanced verbosity.

I've always had an Internet connection when I installed JAWS 13 public
betas. I thought it would automatically install the OCR process when it
installed JAWS 13, as long as there was an Internet connection.

Any thoughts or suggestions on what I might be doing wrong?

Many thanks.

Nancy

You're forgetting to tell it what to scan. For instance, after you hit o and
it comes up, hit w to tell it you want to scan the window.

Good Morning,

I've never been able to make convenient OCR work. When I hit Insert-Space,
O, S, or any other option, JAWS pauses a few seconds and then says JAWS.
Nothing else happens. On this machine I'm running public beta 3.

I've always had an Internet connection when I installed JAWS 13 public
betas. I thought it would automatically install the OCR process when it
installed JAWS 13, as long as there was an Internet connection.

Any thoughts or suggestions on what I might be doing wrong?

Many thanks.

Nancy

Re: [JAWS-Users] Convenient OCR

2011-10-18 Thread Mike O'Brien
Hi

Convenient OCR only seems to speak started and finished if the User
Verbosity mode is set to beginner or intermediate. When verbosity is set to
advanced, JAWS says OCR when you press JAWSKey+space and then The next
thing it says is JAWS if it found any text. If it didn't find readable
text, Jaws says nothing in advanced verbosity.

It sounds like the OmniPage OCR portion did not get installed properly.
There is a separate download and installer for this. Download it, run the
installer , and hope it fixes your problem.
