Re: [JAWS-Users] Excel question
Hi Kurt, When using F2 to edit a cell in Excel, after you have made your changes, you just hit Enter and the changes are stored in the cell. If you press Escape, the cell content returns to what it was before you hit F2. Hi Adam, Just a couple things... In Excel, you can hit F7 to spell check. In JAWS, you can hit JAWSKey+NumPad5 to hear an individual word spelled. You can use JAWSKey+NumPad2 to hear sentences spelled. In Excel, I quite often use the JAWSKey+NumPad2 to hear the contents of a cell spelled. Steve, In the Home tab, shift tab up a dozen or so times until you find the Format Cells submenu. Press enter to open this, and tab tab down until you find the show or hide submenu, and select Show or unhide columns. You will need to have the column and at least one beside it selected for this to work. Hi Kate, To add cells, go to the cell that you want your answer to be located. Type =Sum(the cell address of the first field to be added, a plus sign and the address of the second field to be added and press enter. This will close the parenthesis and show your total. To subtract, do the same as above but use a minus - sign instead of the plus. Hope this helps. Hello; I have never been able to get the procedure currently written in the tutorial to work. I have went back to the old way. Set the cursor on the cell that is common to the row and column that you want. Hold down the alt, jaws key and control key and press C for column and R for row. It is like playing a piano but it works. hth David Maynard Franklin NC dmaynar...@morrisbb.net -Original Message- From: JAWS-Users-List [mailto:jaws-users-list-boun...@jaws-users.com] On Behalf Of RajTribhuwan Sent: Saturday, February 22, 2014 12:08 PM To: jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com Subject: [JAWS-Users] excel question. Re: [JAWS-Users] [JAWS-users Excel question
In addition to control page up and down, try control+shift+s. This pulls all spreadsheets in a workbook into a list. You can use up and down arrows to locate the sheet you want, then press enter to go to it. This command is especially useful when you have a lot of spreadsheets in a workbook.
