Was the computer successfully connected to the Internet when you entered the authorization code? It needs to be, since the authorization process occurs online. wayne smith <waynesoundsm...@earthlink.net> wrote: > Thanks so much. Re: [JAWS-Users] JFW 16 Incomplete install
Thanks so much. With a new hard drive I had no ability to even set up the internet. I used the JAWS 17 disk I had and it worked. I had to use Narrator at the beginning which is something I never had to do before but JAWS 17 is now on my repaired machine. It would not take my authorization code even though I had it from FS in a previous email exchange. I sent them a copy of their own message and asked why the authorization key did not work. I'll have to use 40 minute mode until they help me get the correct code. I had my wife look at their email and enter it a second time to be sure I wasn't getting it wrong but no luck. Thanks to all. With the 40 minute mode I had enough time to set up my internet connection-getting closer! Re: [JAWS-Users] JFW 16 Incomplete install
Thanks, since I am using Windows 7 with MS Office 2010 and my impression is that JAWS 17 is for Windows 10 I chose version 16. I am eligible for JAWS 17 and have a disk on my desk. Please send me the link for 16. Will I need sighted help for installing the download from the link. I turned on Narrator but it seems very limited in Windows 7. At any rate, I'm pretty sure you don't need to have installed JAWS with a disc the first time. When my hard disc had to be replaced three months ago, I believe I started JAWS from the downloaded file. Are you eligible for JAWS 17, or must you use 16? If locating the download page is a problem, since you can't operate the PC yourself, post again and I or someone will get the link. -Original Message- From: JAWS-Users-List [mailto:jaws-users-list-boun...@jaws-users.com] On Behalf Of wayne smith Sent: Saturday, August 27, 2016 5:34 PM To: jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] JFW 16 Incomplete install Hello Mike, There is not a JAWS icon on the desktop.
