I would leave the adaptor alone, because its set to default auto, and
if changed then that is the only numbered channel it will connect to.

I am tending to believe him because our main pc which is wired

security or where?

Appreciate any help.

You should find it under wireless. maker sure its the wired computer
you make the change with or it will not save right.

Under wireless. Depending on your router model and region in the world, you
will have different choices.

From my understanding some of the channels overlap, so moving to an adjacent
channel may not help much. It might be more helpful to move from channel 6,
which is usually the default to channel 1 or 2, or to 11, or if you are in a
region that allows it, channel 13.

If you have a N capable router, you can change the channel width from 40MHz
wide to 20MHz wide.

With a 2.4GHz router, any cordless phones operating in the 2.4GHz range as
well as microwave ovens can impede wireless range as well.

2010-10-15 Thread Don Marang
When logged into the router, there should be a combo box or similar control
in the wireless section for the channel. I think the possible values are 1
through 11. Some of these channels are more used by cordless phones and
microwaves than others. In my house, I found channel 11 to have less
interference. Your laptop or devices should automatically switch to the
selected channel.

substance, value, and content that I just try to make sure that I am working
on things that matter.
