Hi David and all,

I just went to the site and could only find one link to download outlook
express near the bottom of the page.
Either the site has changed or more likely my web skills aren't that good.

Am I missing something?

Hi Everyone,
I experienced the same error as another member reported earlier, and here is
how I solved the problem.
1. When installing OE, while you are focused on the installation file, press
the applications key to open the context menu.
2. From this menu, select run as administrator, and press enter.
3. Follow the prompts to install OE, and then make sure to reboot the
computer after the installation is complete.
4. When the computer is finished re-booting, go to the desktop, and locate
the shortcut for OE.
5. Press the applications key and from the context menu, choose properties,
and press enter.
6. In this dialogue, you will be on the general tab, so just tab until you
come to the run combo box, and arrow to maximized,
this will open the program in a maximized window every time.
7. Now tab to the advanced button, and spacebar that.
8. in this dialogue, tab to the checkbox to run as administrator, and check
it, then tab to okay, and spacebar that.
9. At this point you should have returned to the general tab, so just tab to
the apply button, spacebar that, and then the same with the okay button.
You are done.
The latest build of the OE for Win7, does work with Windows 10, I just
installed it prior to sending this message.

Yes, it is although there is a script that you should run to enable Jaws to
recognize you are running OE; since OE is not normally available if you run
Windows Vista or higher. I think the link to the script file is on the
Jaws-Users script page.

2015-02-15 Thread David Ferrin
I just uploaded the latest version to the server within the last hour for
anybody who might want to download it.

2015-02-15 Thread Mike B.
Hi David List Members,

A number of the changes evidently
only benefit users of Windows 8. Nothing is said on the page about the
spell checker. Before people download and install the program, reading the
information on the web page might allow them to decide if there is any
reason to do so. The link is:
http://runasxp.com/Thread-Outlook-Express-6-for-windows-7-8-and-10-DOWNLOAD

and the information is on the page partway down. You don't have to follow
any links from this page to get to the information.

Take care.

Re: [JAWS-Users] OUTLOOK EXPRESS AND WINDOWS 7

2014-08-08 Thread Steve

John,

Giving you the respect you ask, but you are only correct as far as what
Microsoft provides with Windows 7. I am running Windows 7 Ultimate, and I
am also running Outlook Express that is available for Windows 7 and 8 from
the RunAsXp.com website. I also have the separate spellchecker that works
with OE.

It performs and behaves just like the original Outlook Express, except it
doesn't bug you to compact. The version I have was developed in May 2014,
but Rafael is supposed to be coming out with another version soon.

Take my advice, I don't use it anyway.

With all due respect to Arianna and Simon, Outlook Express in any form
does

not work with Windows 7.

Microsoft did some updating on their mail client so that Outlook Express
is
no longer needed. I'd appreciate confirmation from David or Rick but as
far

as I know, that program was abandoned by Microsoft when Windows 7 was
developed.

Hi John,

We use OE on 3 Windows7 Pro computers. Outlook Express is in Windows7 but,
it's not accessible unless you know how to make it work a person figured
it out created an executable file that will allow someone to run OE in
Win7 8. Here is the URL:

http://www.rafailb.tk/index.php?itemid=27

It can be downloaded from:

http://www.runasxp.com/showthread.php?tid=1

You have to register to the 2nd website to download the executable. HTH
Take care.

Yes, John, it does work with windows 7 and very nicely, too.

I have installed it on several different makes of laptops and had no
problem.
