Re: [JAWS-Users] Virtual Ribbon verses Microsoft Ribbons
Turn on the JAWS virtual ribbon menu in JAWS settings (Insert + F2, then to settings) or in each of the applications JAWS supports(Insert + V, quick Settings). The ribbons themselves must be maximized. There was a lot of discussion in a recent thread on JAWS-Users.com about maximizing virtual ribbons. Minimized ribbons are anathema to mental health. Because they claim customer feedback which shows that people can't find menu items if they're hidden through to many layers (read submenus), can't memorise/visualise where they are. I've seen some explanations which put this forth, but i don't have URL's to hand to find them. instead of things being layered horizontally as a basis, they are being layered more hierarchically and in shorter cross-sections. Re: [JAWS-Users] Virtual Ribbon verses Microsoft Ribbons
Hi, I use virtual ribbons. I can, and sometimes do, use the regular ribbons when using other screen readers. However, I find the virtual ribbons much less confusing and so, when I am using JAWS, which is most of the time, I do use the virtual ribbon feature. Re: [JAWS-Users] Virtual Ribbon verses Microsoft Ribbons
So far, I prefer the JAWS virtual ribbon as I don't use much on the second line menus on Word and use mainly keystrokes on Excel. The JAWS virtual ribbon works fine for me in Thunderbird. Drawback to the JAWS virtual ribbons: Cant use first letter navigation on the lower ribbon. I've heard conflicting tales about the JAWS virtual ribbon leaving out some menu choices. But, like I said, I'm a newby to virtual ribbons. On 3/25/2014 2:55 PM, Pinky wrote: Hi Jaws users, Is it easier to use the virtual ribbon in jaws as to just using the Microsoft ribbons?
