I hope I'm not out of hand here because I haven't gone through my email yet. Dave, I don't think re-wording the thread makes it any more relevant. A simple search would show that Microsoft will not be charging any fees for Windows 10 beyond the initial purchase price or free upgrade in the first year, according to their Product Developer Gabriel Aul. Re: [JAWS-Users] Windows 10 Annual Update Fee -- Is it a Reality or Not?
Hi, Googling yielded many results that informed me that if one for instance reserves a free upgrade to windows 10 all updates remain free for the life of the device it's on and the same holds true for all updates were one to purchase windows 10 when it'd be for sale. I.E. once one owns a copy all updates would be for free. So it is my understanding that there would be no subscription model put in place for windows 10. Either people get the upgrade for free or they'd choose to purchase it outright after the offer for the free version expires after a year but there is no cost for updates. One article stating this can be found here: http://www.pcgamer.com/microsoft-windows-10-will-not-be-sold-as-a-subscription/ Robin -Original Message- From: Dave Carlson Sent: Thursday, July 16, 2015 2:16 AM To: jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com Subject: [JAWS-Users] Windows 10 Annual Update Fee -- Is it a Reality or Not?
