some pdf's read better if you use the raw screen output instead of the default
format.

Subject: [JAWS-Users] can pdf be made to be more readable?

Dear List:

Years ago, I would read tax forms from the federal I r s that were in pdf
format. They were quite readable if they were not too lengthy. I mention
this, because I receive pdf documents from various persons that are not very
readable at all; parts of lines are connected to other parts of lines. In
order for me to read them, I ask them to convert them into Microsoft Word.
Are there steps they can take with these pdf documents, whether image or
character documents, to make them just as readable as the aforesaid I r s
documents? Or, is converting the document to Word the easiest approach for
them to take? Thanks for any ideas and clarifications. Regards: Ted
Larson

Ted,
As you probably know there are several levels of PDF, in terms of
sophistication and readability. As some would say, "there is PDF and there
is PDF."
The IRS has always had the very best in PDF documents.
As not many people have Abbyy Finereader or Adobe Acrobat, your thought
about using Word 13 or 16 to convert the PDF to Word is probably the best
solution.
