[JAWS-Users] modifications to the web site
The home page no longer automatically refreshes every 60 seconds. I got a few requests to make it do that and I got a couple of others to make it stop so I took out the code that forced the auto refresh. Also I got tired of people saying that they couldn't access certain links because I have been using pop up windows so not all but some of those links have been changed. Basically everything other than the tips and tricks page and the programs page where the links indicate documentation along with the download link are now standard links. Will I ever get around to doing those things folks, to be honest I have no idea because I would need to modify over 300 HTML files. For the most part people will need to learn how to open a pop up window. I just got tired of hearing my web site was not accessible, I can promise you it is 100% blind friendly as the vast majority of you already know. Hopefully this email doesn't sound overly harsh or anything like that, I'm just informing the membership what is going on in the background. I like doing this so things will continue as always. I've developed a reputation for keeping people in the loop and that's all I'm doing, thanks. We now return you to our regularly scheduled programming. Hi. Wouldn't shift enter open a popup window in a new window/tab if people can't open by just pressing enter or have a popup blocker in place? i had no problems with the site when i last used it... Re: [JAWS-Users] modifications to the web site
Yes you are absolutely correct, and to be honest that is how for the most part the page is going to stay because to completely modify it would entail a massive amount of work at least several hours or days depending on other things since for every pop up window that opens a document there is a corresponding link to close that window. I guess it's just the fact I get these private messages wining about it is all where yes shift enter will accomplish the task. The information is there and I add to it when time along with availability affords me the opportunity. Think about it for a minute folks, why would a blind man post a web page that he himself couldn't access? I really don't think we need history's most famous detective to solve that puzzle. Actually I need more windows 7 information and programs if I can find them. Also if anybody has any contributions regarding tips ETC please send them along. I guess one fine day I'll need to pick up a copy of windows 7 for myself to learn it better. What are we supporting now at least 3 operating systems and how many versions of jaws, I need a vacation for sure.
