StartPage uses Google for searches. It provides much better privacy and there is no Google Instant. I always checked it also and it would be there the next time I opened Google- annoying! Hi Just use the url https://www.google.com/webhp?complete=0=en every time to open Google. Hi, I am thinking maybe your browser is set to delete all history etc when browser is closed. So when you return to the google site, it retains none of your settings. The only other suggestion I can offer is to use Startpage.com as your search engine.
