Hi Anna,

If you ever accidentally delete something, & want to retrieve it from the
Recycle Bin, you can get it this way as well:
open the Recycle Bin, & highlight the item you wish to Restore
2. With the item highlighted, open the context menu with the Applications
key or Shift + F10, arrow up / down to, Restore, & press enter. The item /
folder / file will now go back to wherever it was deleted from.

Yes. To be clear, I infer you got the message to the effect, "Access 
denied.

You need administrator rights." Something like that. Like you, I just press
spacebar on the OK button and, lo, I have administrator rights. It seems
like one of those extra steps with which Microsoft torments its users.

I accidentally deleted the Mozilla Thunderbird icon from my desk top and
when I went into the recycle bin to restore it it said something like this
action denied to public desk top continue with administrator rights to
activate press space baror something to that effect so I pressed space bar
was this the right thing to do ?

well any way the icon is back on the desk top
