Re: [JAWS-Users] which jaws?

I have been using jaws 2018 for some time now and I have no problems with it
under windows 10. I am not sure what os you are running so can't give you
much info. I can say that jaws 18 and 2018 work well and if you use edge
you would get along better with 2018. Just my take on the mater.

Dave, thanks. I've read good comments about 16 and actually 17 as well. For
those of you who have 2018 and have upgraded from 18, do you think that 2018
works better? Thanks. I appreciate input. Judy & Libby

JAWS 2018 is the latest version; JAWS 18 was released in 2017. FS decided to

try and remove the confusion they caused.

A major paradigm shift in how JAWS works "under the hood" took place between

JAWS 16 and JAWS 17. And frankly I've been less than satisfied with JAWS
performance since then. Some very slow reactions to simple JAWS commands,
which used to be very responsive. So I often unload 2018 and go back to
version 16, just to get things done sooner.

I ask the following question because there are two j17 version 64.
1 is

2. Then down below you also have

Non-Tandem builds

So, I ask, which file do I need to grab?

Do I need the first 64 version which is what I have or do I need the second
64 version which is the Non-Tandem version?
If I need the seond copy which is the Non-Tandem version, II still need to
down load it.

Say you have a problem on your computer. I am running Jaws, so are you.
We could set it up where I can take control of your computer to help you
fix the problem. Ever heard of NVDA Remote? It's sort of similar, but in
this case, both people have to have Jaws on the machine for it to work.
And someone correct me if I'm wrong but if you wanted to initiate the
tandem feature (you want to take control of someone else's machine), I
believe you have to have Jaws Professional.
