Re: [JAWS-Users] Can't back-link in IE10 with JFW

2013-10-13 Thread Don and Cher Bosch
It appears that if you launch IE from the taskbar in Windows7 as I do, that
the program is already maximized. Nevertheless, I often find myself manually
maximizing because the last few JAWS versions have had the same issue John
reported- JFW not reading correctly which link has focus, and my issue with
Alt-left-arrow not reliably working.

I don't think so... IE10 seems to warn me of any pop-up windows. In fact,
I've been unable to get Alt-n to bring up the responses and end up going to

back-link commands will go back one page- but am unable to detect a pattern

Re: [JAWS-Users] Can't back-link in IE10 with JFW

2013-10-10 Thread Don and Cher Bosch
Perhaps the Gmail site is trying to 'force' you to go to Google Chrome. Does
the message refer to 'current browser' or does it specifically say IE?

What's the issue with IE as a whole? I upgraded, because Gmail said IE 8
would not be supported soon, and I get the same message with IE 10 with
Gmail and its website. Anyone know what the deal is?

Can't go back to the previous page; and if I use Control-W to close that one
tab, IE10 closes completely. Is this an IE10 issue that others have
experienced, or is something amiss with JFW. I'm debating rolling back to
IE9- no back-link problems that I can remember there. Thoughts / advice will
be very much appreciated.

That's the problem- it's not consistently working, nor is using Back on the
menus. When it refuses to back-link, it keeps refusing till I close it.

Chrome is google's preferred browser choice, but usually not our. Try
GMAIL with Firefox instead. It's over-all, a more pleasant experience

2013-10-10 Thread John R Vaughn
Cher, I have found that using the jaws version 15 beta has solved this
problem for me. In addition, the V15 beta is also working much better when
I execute a link on a web page. The prior version of jaws many times would
execute a different link than the one I was on and trying to execute. I
think others had noted similar issues.
I am running windows 7, IE 10
John in sunny Florida
