Re: [JAWS-Users] JAWS and Citrix

2016-10-27 Thread John Vernaleken`
Adam,
Until I retired in 2014 I used CITRIX to connect to the Company's Computer
systems. I would recommend you look in the JAWS Help Topics and look at the
Remote Access Book, also let the Company's IT staff look at it.
A version of JAWS Pro must be installed on the Company's Server. If I
remember the System Administrator had to do the install.

Good Luck

John

Hi.

Just wondering if anyone on the list has experience of using JAWS with
Citrix? This morning I took delivery of a new PC running JAWS 17
Professional but I'm struggling to get my head around navigating Citrix.

Many thanks in advance.

Adam.

Two things:
1... If you are ever in a position to choose the platform, one of our fellow
list members said that WebEx is much more accessible.
2... Please notify Citrix customer service dept. if only a tiny fraction of
disappointed JAWS users alert companies to access issues, there is no
business reason for them to upgrade their products.

I'm sad to say that they have not gotten better.

I've been attending online courses through Go To Meeting and the experience
is still the same. You can start a meeting using the link that the
presenter sends out but once the meeting starts, that is it. You can hear
the meeting but you cannot participate. I always needed someone sighted to
unmute my mic through the interface but once that was done, I had a physical
mute button on my headset.

I'm guessing that perhaps the Go To Meeting app on iOS might be better.

Sorry!

Hi,
I haven't tried their "Go to Meeting" and "Go to Webinar" products in the
past six months or so. At that time they were significantly limited in JAWS
access. You could log in to and hear the session, but could not participate
in submitting questions/comments via the "chat box" or participate in
"polling". I've notified them an several occasions over the years.
Anyone have more recent experience? It would be great if they have changed
for the better.

Is anyone on here successfully using citrix with jaws latest version. To use
JAWS with citrix will jaws require scripts to accomplish this.
Any feedback on this would be most appreciated.

You don't need another Jaws license for the server, also you just need one
remote access license for both the server and the client. You must be
running Jaws pro!

When I was looking at this I was told I could install a demo version of JAWS on
the server as it just needed some dll files to run from your connection.

And you only need the license on the client computer you are connecting from.
