Re: [JAWS-Users] Outlook 2016 no longer recognizing personal g-mail account
Hello Tom: I don't know, but I doubt it would make any difference, if I were you, I would try modifying the account manually, taking care to go to the Advanced tab and checking the ports and security. I just cannot think of anything else that would prevent your connecting to Gmail, unless you changed your geographic location; it has happened to me in the past that while travelling, Gmail has prevented my logging in, mistaking the change of IP address for an attempt to hack my account. I do not however, use the automatic configuration offered by Outlook for any of my accounts, I prefer to configure them all manually with no problems. Remember of course, that you should have POP3 authorized in Gmail before you can Pop your messages, but if you did it before, I imagine you do. Try doing it manually, remember to go to the Advanced tab to change the ports and security. I have been trying to get my new Windows 7 laptop to work correctly with Office 365, and actually have been making good progress. However, I have recently discovered that Outlook 2016 is no longer recognizing my personal g-mail account. It seems to recognize my University e-mail account ok, but not my personal g-mail account. Does anyone know why this sudden change might have occurred, and what I should try to do to correct the situation? I honestly can't think of anything I might have done to cause this.
