By doing these steps, you'll resolve an issue on some machines whereby JAWS stops speaking when focused on any of the lists in Avast. Hi, for a complete scan, check all local disks, check archives, move the slider to 100% (thorough scan), and click start. Hope that helps. Hi all, please don't worry about messages like that. It just means that Avast couldn't scan the files in that archive because it was password protected. What you can do is tab to the action button, hit space on that, arrow to delete, press enter, ensure that delete file(s) permanently is checked, activate the delete button, enter on that, and the results should refresh with the new data. Don't worry; I don't think it deletes the archives found to have been locked, but I'm not sure about that one. I'll check this out. My comment is that you got a virus because AVG free only offer *basic* virus protection. Note the basic there. With AVG Internet Security you have complete virus/spyware/rootkit protection. So to me you should give it another try (a 30 day free trial is available). We use Nod32 Antivirus and like it a lot.
