If it comes from the mailing list, I see that it copies the list. I checked on this one of yours, and your address was not with the mailing list or in the cc, although your name was. It seems like I had one that did have the name and list. That was when I learned the first way to hit Control 1 to go to the from line, then copy it, then take out less and greater signs, stuff like that, then go to Contacts and put it in the regular way, going through the fields entering name, then e-mail address. So, right there, I hit Control C; then Control 3 (to get to Contacts); then Control V to paste in the new address. I think that in a list like this, it is better to do it the old way to Alt 1 to the To field, copy it, start a new e-mail just to have a place to get out the and and list stuff, just get yours. But if you get an individual one, or you can even try with mine to Escape, then hit Control C, then Control 3, then Control V. Then you'll have the e-mail address. I did it with yours, and then deleted it; somehow or other I deleted it twice, but it's out. Anyway, that is one way that it can be done in Outlook 2013. The good thing about the older harder way, I think, is a little more control of the data. Ann, I did as I was instructed yesterday - went outside your message, hit Control C for copy, then Control 3 for Contacts, then Control V for paste. Your address is in my contacts, which I will delete, but my instructor told me to practice what he taught, so I did that one. It definitely works in Outlook 13 and is so easy! I hope it will work for you. RE: keystroke in outlook 2010 to add sender to contacts?
OK, Keith. If I hit escape, I'm outside your message. I went to Options and did not find that in 2013, move folder and a couple of things, but not add sender; probably a way there too, I just didn't find it. Cool, neat trick. Thanks for posting it. BTW, I just went through the keyboard manager for Outlook 2010 and didn't see a hotkey for adding sender to contacts, so I don't think there is a way to do this with a single keystroke in stock JAWS. Best option so far: 1. Alt+1 twice quickly to move to the from field. 2. Open context menu, then select add sender to outlook contacts. -Paul -Original Message- Paul, You can go right into the To field by holding down the alt key and pressing 3 (number row above the letters) twice quickly. RE: keystroke in outlook 2010 to add sender to contacts?
OK, Paul, Joseph the Free Tech Guy taught me, and I tried it with yours to be sure I got it right. In the Inbox, by the mail you got from the person, Hit Control C for Copy. Then hit Control 33 to go to Contacts, and right there, hit Control V. The e-mail address is there. Then you have to go through the fields like company and all that until you can get to save or OK, I forget, but you know what you do when you have put in the information. Do that, and you have it. By the way, if you press alt-1 just once, JAWS will read the field but not move focus there. Ditto for alt-2 (date), etc. Thanks for posting this method of adding an address to contacts.
