Re: [josm-dev] Geotagged images JOSM 5990?
You can also update to current tested version :) 2013/7/19 Paul Hartmann phaau...@googlemail.com Hi, please file a bug report and attach a sample photo! [josm-dev] Geotagged Images
Hey! It's been over a year since I last used Geotagged Images, and I'm VERY impressed. The user interface has pretty much everything I want in it. It has an automatic guess, manual tuning, and time-from-photo. Well done! Now ... if only we could get it to OCR the image, look for the word Garmin and input the time from the display, we'd be all set! /me ducks. -- --my blog is athttp://blog.russnelson.com Crynwr supports open source software 521 Pleasant Valley Rd. | +1 315-600-8815 Potsdam, NY 13676-3213 | Sheepdog ___ josm-dev mailing list josm-dev@openstreetmap.org http://lists.openstreetmap.org/listinfo/josm-dev
Re: [josm-dev] geotagged images proposal
Thanks, Marko! I've tried gpscorrelate and it does what I need. The only issue is I'm not always sure about the time syncronisation. It's much easier to play with the time delta in a GUI app to set everything right. For merging GPX files I use gpsbabel: gpsbabel -i gpx -f input1.gpx -f input2.gpx -f inputN.gpx -o gpx -F output.gpx and then gpscorrelate -g output.gpx *.jpg I'm taking photos using the same cellphone that logs the tracks - it's clock is syncronized with the GSM network. So it should be pretty exact. But anyway JOSM placed the images incorrectly, i had to rewind the time, up to 40 minutes sometimes, I don't know why. Maybe there was a bug in JOSM that saved the time difference from the previous session and automatically added it to the next one? The last time I geotagged photos a few days ago, there was no such thing and the images were aligned correctly right away, without adjustment. PS - upoloaded about a hundred geotagged images to OpenStreetPhoto yesterday, and they still haven't appeared on their slippymap. I believe the project is in a semi-dead condition. Too bad. I liked their idea :( -- best regards Eugen Derevyankin 2009/9/1 Marko Mäkelä marko.mak...@iki.fi: On Tue, Sep 01, 2009 at 03:01:14AM +0200, Martin Koppenhoefer wrote: I was using a separate script in windows for this (haven't yet managed in Linux but I guess it available as well), that was writing those coordinates into the images. For what it is worth, Debian GNU/Linux includes a package of the gpscorrelate program. One minor annoyance in it that I have not bothered to fix yet is that it can process only one GPX trace at a time. I sometimes split the traces into logical steps while recording them, but I cannot do the same for the photos. So, I have merged GPX traces in a text editor when needed. Recently, I've started photo-mapping, and found JOSM very useful for aligning the pictures along the track. I really recommend the use of the AgPifoJ Ülugin for photo-mapping and not use of the JOSM build-in functionality. But I think it would also be useful if JOSM could export the coordinates back into the images, so that they could be used in the future for some other projects, like OpenStreetPhoto. For Windows I recommend the use of Geosetter (www.geosetter.de) to get the coordinates into the EXIF data of pictures. This is not open source SW but at least Freeware w/o additional advertisement or something like that (no crippleware, no nagware, no ). Geosetter has a lot of user-friendly ways to get the synchronization of the pictures with the GPS track(s). Within the last year I made a lot of good experience with the program and didn't have real severe crashes of the programm or damaged photos. And: Geosetter not only supports Google to show the GPS traces and location of the pictures but also OSM maps (OSMarender and Mapnik)! [josm-dev] geotagged images proposal
Hi, list Recently, I've started photo-mapping, and found JOSM very useful for aligning the pictures along the track. But I think it would also be useful if JOSM could export the coordinates back into the images, so that they could be used in the future for some other projects, like OpenStreetPhoto. Moreover, I've looked at the OpenStreetPhoto wiki page, and they currently have a very simple image upload scheme - you just need to put the geotagged images to ftp://openstreetphoto.org/UPLOADHERE/username/ (I don't know if it actually works, I've uploaded a few geotagged pictures there for a test. Haven't got many of those) So maybe that can also be incorporated into JOSM - then people can open a GPX file, import images, syncronize the clock, draw everything, and then - upload the photoes to OpenStreetPhoto for future use (by other users, by data extraction programs, etc) I'm not a programmer myself, so I'd like to hear your opinion, wether it is difficult to implement such functionality into JOSM -- Best regards, Eugen Derevyankin ___ josm-dev mailing list josm-dev@openstreetmap.org http://lists.openstreetmap.org/listinfo/josm-dev
