Re: [JPP-Devel] Translation to Czech

2010-03-23 Thread Larry Becker
Hi Jan,

One of us (Stefan?) will commit it for you. I see you have already posted
a link to it.

We normally update the language translations before each release of OJ.
Are you going to handle any future translations?

Larry Becker

  Thank you,

I know how to run OpenJUMP with Czech locale, this is not the problem. I
probably did not make myself clear. My question was about how to put the new
translation to official 1.3.1 distribution to be available for all users. I
know that they can download OpenJUMP 1.3.1 from my web page, but not all of
 them know about that page.

 Kind regards

 Jan

 Jan,

I'm no I18N expert, but I think you need to do two (2) things:

 (1) Make sure the jump.cz properties file is on your Java path.
 (2) Tell the JVM running JUMP that you want Czech to be your default
 Locale.

I think you can accomplish step 1 by putting the properties file in
the lib folder of your JUMP installation. I think you can accomplish
step 2 by tweaking the batch file that launches OpenJUMP.

I could be totally wrong. Hopefully one of our other users/programmers
that works with OpenJUMP in a non-English language can confirm or
 deny.

Hei Jan,

you would
- rename the workbench jar file to *zip
- unzip the workbench jar/zip file,
- add your file to the language folder.
- then re-zip it and rename it to jar.

that should be all.
need to check if we have that info on the wiki.

Re: [JPP-Devel] Translation to Czech

2010-03-22 Thread Sunburned Surveyor
Thanks for the correction Stefan. I looked for the language folder in
the OpenJUMP install, but I didn't realize it was contained in the JAR
file itself.

I wonder if it would be easier in the future to make it an external
folder like bin or lib.
