[k-9-mail] Re: Significant Battery Issues with Latest Update

2017-03-02 Thread Stefan Jon Silverman
Same settings I have used for last 3 phones and 2 tabs - battery drain
changed dramatically after last update (used to be high after an update
then would settle down a few days later, this never did) - pre-update (w/
same exact settings) it was only drawing 12-15% overnight...

[k-9-mail] Re: Significant Battery Issues with Latest Update

2017-03-02 Thread Mathguy
I have to believe that these battery issues are explainable due to bad
settings on polling or polling issues. I realize that you've moved on but
did you ever really go over those to make sure that you weren't constantly
polling or that you had something along those lines occurring?

[k-9-mail] Re: Significant Battery Issues with Latest Update

2017-03-02 Thread Stefan Jon Silverman
Threefer Thursday

1) Overnight before uninstalling K9 mail

2) First overnight running on BlueMail

3) Second overnight running on BlueMail

As we can see from the battery-drawdown graphs K9 is a Battery-Vampire
killing 50% and using quite a bit of CPU time just sitting on my nightstand
while BlueMail is using less than half the draw to accomplish the same task
and improving on that on night 2.

So, fare-thee-well K9 - you have been good to me through 3 phones up til
now but somehow you turned into a monster w/ the last update and I have
found another email companion

ps: shout-out to whomever it was that mentioned BlueMail in another thread
- had never looked into it before and it proving to be quite nice...
