This seems to be the same as bug#359682, which should be fixed in KDE
Frameworks 5.39.0.

The mentioned problem with automatic spell checking probably is related to
bug#364293. Setting a different font or font size may help.

I think we'll need a bunch more information on how to reproduce this. Such as
what version of neon you are on and what you are searching for.

All that said you should be able to produce some useful debug output on a
terminal by running something like

```
(you'll have to manually restart krunner once you are done or re-log)
The test advised me that I was not protected, which surprised me. However, when
I click the button to install privacy badger, which I do have installed in all
In my opinion, this should either be installed by default or be a one-click
Thanks for all your work, and welcome to the KDE community!
[krita] [Bug 386128] New: Creating quick group slowing down with a bigger file size
2017-10-23 Thread bugzilla_noreply
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=386128
Bug ID: 386128
   Summary: Creating quick group slowing down with a bigger file
size
   Product: krita
   Version: 3.3.1
  Platform: MS Windows
OS: MS Windows
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Layer Stack
  Assignee: krita-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: katearche...@yandex.ru
  Target Milestone: ---
If a file getting bigger than a certain size creating a new quick group become
extremely slow.
1. Create a new file, like 6x9k.
2. Start to draw random stuff creating new layers periodically.
3. Group these layers from time to time.
4. See as grouping become slower and slower.
5. After you hit a certain size(in my case its a 6 or 7 gb reported file size
on the bottom of the krita window; I have 16gb windows 7-64 machine) grouping
would become extremely slow(like one or two minutes till the operation
indicator on the bottom disappears)
6. If it takes longer that a minute you can try to press save and on the window
"wait for the operation to end and save" choose save without waiting for and
you'll get infinite grouping.
7. But if you open the file saved that way there will be the desired group that
you were waiting for in the previous steps(I suppose that means that the
grouping itself not the culprit but some of the operations after the grouping
are)
(I've tested this with my files on ubuntu 17.04 machine and get the same
results more or less)
desired effect: Grouping should take the same amount of time no matter how many
layers you have or how much memory a file used.
[kmymoney4] [Bug 386087] csv exporter triggers lots of error messages about invalid transcations
2017-10-23 Thread Jack
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=386087
--- Comment #3 from Jack  ---
The T transaction IDs are unique to your kmy file.  If you search on
T20 then that is the transaction the program is complaining
about.  Does the amount of that found transaction match the amount of the one
you had identified?  It may simply be coincidence.
Note when the program says the transaction is missing an account assignment,
that may actually mean it is missing a category, which are internally treated
as accounts.  If you do the search, and then double click on the found
transaction, it should display that transaction in the ledger of the account it
thinks the transaction belongs to.  What are the details there?  Does anything
seem strange about it?
When you say it is a dividend transaction, that is simply a transaction you
have identified with the same date and amount.  In fact, you might try
searching on that date and that amount to see if you find other transactions.
For any kind of "theme" the window listing them is not loading the previews,
either as list or grid view. You need to hit details in order to see them.
BUT you only get to see one with a big thumbnail. If there is more than one
available and you click on any of the others the big thumbnail will disappear
and the one you clicked will never load.
Also ticking "installed" bullet on the right will not show previously installed
themes nor the previews for them.
Hm, ist this identifier unique in the whole file or unique for the account
only? Should I search in the "Text" field of "search transactions" or in the
"Details" ->search this number?
When I search T20 in the "Text" field I find a transaction in a
different account. When I search in the Details->search this number I find
nothing. When I search for Details->Invalid instructions I find nothing.
The Transaction in this example "Transaction number '20' is missing an account
assignment. Date '2015-12-15', Amount '27,59;'. Transaction dropped." is a
dividend payment. There are many dividend payments, some buys and one "add
shares" in the beginning.
[Plasma Vault] [Bug 385984] Activity integration can be more fine-grained.
2017-10-23 Thread Ivan Čukić
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=385984
--- Comment #1 from Ivan Čukić  ---
> What took me by surprise is that limiting a vault to an activity
> will actively attempt to close the vault when you go to another one.
> I don't see the point of that.
The problem with full-device encryption is that once you log in, everything is
accessible to people who have access to your system.
Vaults are meant to be smaller containers that should be open for as short as
possible. When you switch to another activity, this implies you stopped working
on the project you worked on in the previous activity, and the vault
automatically closes to minimize the time it is kept open. Having to manually
close a vault is problematic for forgetful users (myself included).
If it is not possible to close it (an application is using it), you get a
notification with an option to kill the applications and forcefully close the
vault.
Automatic closing will also be implemented for when the screen locker is
started, and similar situations.
As far as the recent documents are concerned, the files belonging to a vault
will not be tracked in future at all (like the "Baloo" issue). We do not have
the infrastructure to have distributed databases for usage statistics and text
indexing to allow "chunks" of the database to be stored in a separate file
located in an encrypted directory.
I agree.
This has two potential approaches:
 - Baloo should skip filesystems like these regardless of whether they are from
ignored
Before I start - the Vault applet is made to look as much as the device applet
since they do similar things.
While I mostly like the proposed ideas, I'm afraid that most of them go into
1) overly problematic to implement properly (I'm trying to keep things as
simple as possible because we had great ideas some years ago, but most of the
ideas required holes in security :) or
2) It would be really cool to have, but I'm unsure a simple applet is the right
place for it.
Commenting in a changed order:
Yes, the button can be made flat as in the activity switcher
> 4: for the vault, show recently opened documents.
This is a cool idea, but I'm afraid it is out of the scope of the applet (and
would be really problematic implementation-wise).
The 'recent documents' meta-data is one of the privacy concerns I have with
Vaults. While the contents of a file is encrypted, the "Hey, you opened the
file named 'how-to-make-your-secret-lair.txt' in Kate" is not - and that can be
problematic. :)
> 2: when hovering anywhere on the encrypted vault or files (see 4)
I don't think that "configure" is an action that should be invoked often --
therefore, I do not see the reason to show it next to the mount/umount.
> 1: The 'name' is obviously the name of the vault, but when
> hovering over it you see it is clickable. Clicking it will open the directory
> in dolphin.
This I would be fine with, if that was how the Device notifier would behave.
One thing where the Device notifier UI beats Vault is that it automatically
expands the actions for the last inserted device. I'm not sure what that would
mean for vaults.
> 6: opened, here it slides out an input field for the password and an Ok
> button to attempt mounting it.
This is something I'm investigating. If I manage to do it in a secure way
(without Plasma sending the password to the Vault daemon via dbus or other
channel that can be spied on), this will be implemented.
[Plasma Vault] [Bug 385971] Default to CryFS for new vaults; hide the setting asking which one the user wants behind an "Advanced Settings" button or something
2017-10-23 Thread Ivan Čukić
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=385971
--- Comment #4 from Ivan Čukić  ---
The message does come from the Debian package, and yes, it looks scary.
I do not think the message is a problem though, nor do I think that a "good
enough" default is good enough for when data privacy is concerned.
Vault is trying to balance on the edge between user-friendly and actually
useful.
If you want to keep your data safe, you need to be at least a little bit
informed. And that is why the messages like that one are there. If the user
wants to be completely ignorant regarding the technical details, there is
always the TL;DR click the "Next" button option.
One of the reasons behind this (let's teach the user something) approach is the
"well, my whole system is encrypted, so I'm safe" mentality that many people
have, without considering that every approach has a downside.
Bug ID: 386124
   Summary: Scaled image moves around unexpectedly due to a
transition
   Product: kdenlive
   Version: 17.08.1
  Platform: MS Windows
OS: MS Windows
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Effects & Transitions
  Assignee: vpi...@kde.org
  Reporter: tar...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---
Created attachment 108531
  --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=108531=edit
Project and source image file showing the bug
I found this bug when I was trying to fade out an image that had been scaled
down.
Steps to reproduce:
1. Open Kdenlive
2. Drag the image CRW_3215e_small.jpg into the Project Bin
3. Drag the image from the Project Bin onto track Video 1
4. Drag the image from the Project Bin onto track Video 2
5. Apply a "Position and Zoom" effect to the image on the Video 2 track.
6. Set the Size to 50% in that Position and Zoom effect
7. Right click on the image in the Video 2 track, "Add Transition"->"Composite
and Transform"
When the transition begins, the image in the Video 2 track moves a little bit
to the right, both in the preview and in the rendered video.
The same happens with the Composite transition.
You can choose the exact location for both the encrypted data and the mount
point for each of the vaults you create.
I would +1 a patch which allows configuring the default prefix for both. I
would not approve a patch that changes the location to XDG_DATA_HOME as this is
not application data - this is user data.
The situation may have changed since this was brought up.  At the time, you'd
use the Kdelibs4Migration class (
https://api.kde.org/frameworks/kcoreaddons/html/classKdelibs4Migration.html )
to move the file to the new KF5 location (using the XDG directory instead of
the .kde directory).  The upd file wasn't used for that purpose.
If using the upd file is now the recommended way to do the migration, then you
can ignore my suggestion.  I'm not sure though the upd file is flexible to
handle custom kde prefixes that Kdelibs4Migration does.
This problem rely on KF5::KXMLGUI framework which make GUI based on XML
description.
If a standard comment is set in XML data, this break the XML parsing. Do not
ask me why. We pass a lots of time to discover this dysfunction.
The solution is included in next 5.8.0 preversion available as AppImage here :
https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/0BzeiVr-byqt5Y0tIRWVWelRJenM
It's possible that the copy of menus description is corrupted in your home
directory, where is stored the menu/toolbar customizations. Look on this path :
~/.local/share/kxmlgui5/digikam/
Files are *.rc.
It seems this app use some ncurses feature, that causes this bug in yakuake.
Other terminals working well with this app, only konsole-based causes such
strange behaviour
Dear Lukasz,
annualized return is wrong for following investments:
BGF Latin American A2 Fund (buy: 4335,75 €, sell: -6056,94 €, annualized
Carlson Asian Small Cap (buy: 2248,89 €, sell: -2828,80 €, annualized
return: -92,75%)
db-xtracker Banks Short (buy: 6738,80 €, sell: -7375,06 €, annualized
return: -98,26%)
The strange thing is that the rest of my investments were calculated
correctly. I cross-checked this with MS Money99.
Many thanks for your help.
Best wishes
This is a difficult issue. Krunner does not know that there is a panel. KWin on
the other side fully trusts KRunner as the Plasmashell setPosition call is
used.
Possibilities: KWin raises the KRunner window or KWin repositions the window.
Both would require new API. Maybe a semantical setPosition?
I'm not sure if #385406 is the same issue as this one.
WLAN settings are stored just fine in my keychain. Loading or editing does not
throw the "No secrets were provided" error.
There was a brief period a while ago when I had this issue with WLAN as well,
but it seems it was fixed in the meantime.
The system is running Debian testing with plasma-nm 5.10.5.
I only hit this issue with WWAN (mobile broadband) connections. In this case,
it's extra annoying, because I get popups for PIN code, superuser password and
PPP password.
Can you send me your debugging output patch, Jan?
I'll give it a test and send you the output.
+1 The image and the large search header don't add anything relevant and could
be removed. Also, the large space around the search box is incosistent with the
small search box in system settings.
The only thing I'd change in your mockup is aligning the title "Home" to the
left, and making it a breadcrumb when entering a subcategory. Font size might
have to adjusted for deep subcategories though.
Any time I try to view an nfs share it gives an error of the following format:
> Could not mount device.
> The reported error was:
> Failed to mount ${list of shared directories}
This error is reported even for shares that are known to be configured
correctly. It failed on shares generated by Ubuntu 14.04, Ubuntu 17.04, and
ZFSOnLinux.
Mounting these shares manually works perfectly fine.
