[kmymoney4] [Bug 386087] csv exporter triggers lots of error messages about invalid transcations
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=386087 --- Comment #3 from Jack--- The T transaction IDs are unique to your kmy file. If you search on T20 then that is the transaction the program is complaining about. Does the amount of that found transaction match the amount of the one you had identified? It may simply be coincidence. Note when the program says the transaction is missing an account assignment, that may actually mean it is missing a category, which are internally treated as accounts. If you do the search, and then double click on the found transaction, it should display that transaction in the ledger of the account it thinks the transaction belongs to. What are the details there? Does anything seem strange about it? When you say it is a dividend transaction, that is simply a transaction you have identified with the same date and amount. In fact, you might try searching on that date and that amount to see if you find other transactions. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[Plasma Vault] [Bug 385984] Activity integration can be more fine-grained.
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=385984 --- Comment #1 from Ivan Čukić--- > What took me by surprise is that limiting a vault to an activity > will actively attempt to close the vault when you go to another one. > I don't see the point of that. The problem with full-device encryption is that once you log in, everything is accessible to people who have access to your system. Vaults are meant to be smaller containers that should be open for as short as possible. When you switch to another activity, this implies you stopped working on the project you worked on in the previous activity, and the vault automatically closes to minimize the time it is kept open. Having to manually close a vault is problematic for forgetful users (myself included). If it is not possible to close it (an application is using it), you get a notification with an option to kill the applications and forcefully close the vault. Automatic closing will also be implemented for when the screen locker is started, and similar situations. As far as the recent documents are concerned, the files belonging to a vault will not be tracked in future at all (like the "Baloo" issue). We do not have the infrastructure to have distributed databases for usage statistics and text indexing to allow "chunks" of the database to be stored in a separate file located in an encrypted directory. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[Plasma Vault] [Bug 385988] [mockup] UI suggestions
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=385988 --- Comment #1 from Ivan Čukić--- Before I start - the Vault applet is made to look as much as the device applet since they do similar things. While I mostly like the proposed ideas, I'm afraid that most of them go into 1) overly problematic to implement properly (I'm trying to keep things as simple as possible because we had great ideas some years ago, but most of the ideas required holes in security :) or 2) It would be really cool to have, but I'm unsure a simple applet is the right place for it. Commenting in a changed order: > 5: Create new vault Yes, the button can be made flat as in the activity switcher > 4: for the vault, show recently opened documents. This is a cool idea, but I'm afraid it is out of the scope of the applet (and would be really problematic implementation-wise). The 'recent documents' meta-data is one of the privacy concerns I have with Vaults. While the contents of a file is encrypted, the "Hey, you opened the file named 'how-to-make-your-secret-lair.txt' in Kate" is not - and that can be problematic. :) > 2: when hovering anywhere on the encrypted vault or files (see 4) I don't think that "configure" is an action that should be invoked often -- therefore, I do not see the reason to show it next to the mount/umount. > 1: The 'name' is obviously the name of the vault, but when > hovering over it you see it is clickable. Clicking it will open the directory > in dolphin. This I would be fine with, if that was how the Device notifier would behave. One thing where the Device notifier UI beats Vault is that it automatically expands the actions for the last inserted device. I'm not sure what that would mean for vaults. > 6: opened, here it slides out an input field for the password and an Ok > button to attempt mounting it. This is something I'm investigating. If I manage to do it in a secure way (without Plasma sending the password to the Vault daemon via dbus or other channel that can be spied on), this will be implemented. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[Plasma Vault] [Bug 385971] Default to CryFS for new vaults; hide the setting asking which one the user wants behind an "Advanced Settings" button or something
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=385971 --- Comment #4 from Ivan Čukić--- The message does come from the Debian package, and yes, it looks scary. I do not think the message is a problem though, nor do I think that a "good enough" default is good enough for when data privacy is concerned. Vault is trying to balance on the edge between user-friendly and actually useful. If you want to keep your data safe, you need to be at least a little bit informed. And that is why the messages like that one are there. If the user wants to be completely ignorant regarding the technical details, there is always the TL;DR click the "Next" button option. One of the reasons behind this (let's teach the user something) approach is the "well, my whole system is encrypted, so I'm safe" mentality that many people have, without considering that every approach has a downside. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

The situation may have changed since this was brought up. At the time, you'd use the Kdelibs4Migration class ( https://api.kde.org/frameworks/kcoreaddons/html/classKdelibs4Migration.html ) to move the file to the new KF5 location (using the XDG directory instead of the .kde directory). The upd file wasn't used for that purpose. If using the upd file is now the recommended way to do the migration, then you can ignore my suggestion. I'm not sure though the upd file is flexible to handle custom kde prefixes that Kdelibs4Migration does. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=386114 Martin Flöserchanged: What|Removed |Added CC||mgraess...@kde.org --- Comment #1 from Martin Flöser --- This is a difficult issue. Krunner does not know that there is a panel. KWin on the other side fully trusts KRunner as the Plasmashell setPosition call is used. https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=377473 --- Comment #21 from onit...@gmail.com --- I'm not sure if #385406 is the same issue as this one. WLAN settings are stored just fine in my keychain.
