not for me on neon dev unstable.
I need use gdb to generate backtrace of crashes in several apps manually.

Edit an investment by right clicking on it (may or may not work): edit option
may be greyed out.

Double click the entry, click next on stock screen, you may get a corrupt data
screen.

These issues are random and not reproducible.

I was trying to update quotes unsuccessfully prior to these issues.

Note that OS is Ubuntu 18.04 beta.

I can confirm this.

1. Right click the down arrow in the tray

After selecting to automatically change audio sources when they become
available, audio sources cannot be found.  KDE has no audio sources, volume
adjustment or sound.  This is restricted to the user's profile, not system
wide.

select Automatically switch all running streams when a new output becomes
available.

True, we cannot show it permanently in fullscreen View mode.

The standard behaviour to help users discover the shortcut in browsers is to
show an overlay message upon entering fullscreen. We do something similar by
showing the top bar briefly, although by nature this does not highlight the
button itself that much (and _another_ overlay message would be annoying, I
guess).

Briefly testing with changing the icon to "window-close" or "application-exit"
which are coloured bright red does result in much better visibility indeed.
However, they are overpowering the actual purpose of the fullscreen mode, i.e.
showing the thumbnails and the image, and might be confused with a close button
operating on the toolbar only. Also, they do not correspond well to the action
used when entering fullscreen.

Anyway, I have more ideas for some rework in this area, won't be done in time
for 18.04, though. Stay tuned ;)

Ok, sorry, did not find any indication about in which package version it's
actually fixed. ("Target Milestone" is not set and I also could not find this
information by following the "Latest Commit" link.)

Apparently, my assumptions about which it was were wrong.


I'm also on 5.44.0 now and the icon is visible.

Got Choqok working from source. turns out it was a (sort of) environment issue.


Anyways the possible patch a mentioned before works.
This patch adds Copy and Select-All Shortcuts to Choqok.

Sorry, but that doesn't make any sense. In KWin it's the identical code path to
OpenGL 2.0. Furthermore we use QtQuick which defaults to OpenGL. So you have a
mixture of both. It doesn't make any sense to use gles on a desktop. Give a try
to regular gl.

In my case, it always defaults to the "Texture 1024x1024" template (it might be
a different one for you).

It doesn't happen after using a custom template, only after using a default
one.

Okular renders some pdfs much slower than Evince, even though both use Poppler
for the pdf backend. Since the same backend is used, I would expect the pdf
render time to be the same.

For example, the second page of this pdf
https://arxiv.org/pdf/1701.07837v2
takes over 3 seconds for Okular to render. However, Evince renders it almost
instantly.

Or when quickly scrolling through a large pdf, Evince seems to render the pages
almost instantly, while Okular renders slower than I can (quickly) scroll. Here
is an example large pdf:

I'm using Okular 1.3.3, Evince 3.26.0, and poppler 0.61.1 on Archlinux (with an
Intel i7-3720QM @ 2.6GHz).

Hi all,

yesterday I upgraded kdeconnect on Android (1.8). Both yesterday and today I
got the same problem again: after 2-3 hours it disconnects. 

Again, uninstalling and installing kdeconnect 1.6.6 fixes the problem. Since
the old version is awesome enough, I think I'll stick to it.

XCF / GIMP file which don't load with the XCF KImageFormats plugin

It seems that the KImageFormat plugin for XCF / GIMP files can't handle bigger
files correctly.

The file attached (16000x18000 pixels) at least, don't load in Digikam,
Dolphin, Okular, Gwenview and Showfoto. Especially that its failed in Digikam
is annoying for me. Even preview thumbnails can't be created. 

GIMP 2.8.18 handles this file without problems on my system. I use such large
files for creating picture collages.

System tray icons and text get corrupted and become unreadable, clicking
doesn't work as intended (I click on an icon and it does not open the

An image of ktouch layout

I am using Ubuntu 17.10, but it seems that ktouch has still some issues on that
OS. It does not show any icons for preferences (normally located in upper right

I'm still able to reproduce this in Krita 4.1.0 (see the new video).

It happens at restart: a) if I never lifted the pen from the tablet and b)
regardless of whether I had choosen the brush from the docker or topbar.

1) pick a preset + paint
2) choose another preset + paint
3) close and restart without lifting the pen from the tablet

Actual Results: at restart I'm presented with a different preset.

tab in the settings? 

And could  you make a screenshot of the About->Krita window to let me know sha1
of the commit you have?

The point is, I've just tried to reproduce the problem on my local build and I
cannot do that :(

I have the following ideas what can be the problem with your build:

1) If you build Krita yourself, you might have some very old plugins installed
(e.g. histogram had this problem is some point of time). Please try the latest
nightly build to eliminate this possibility:

2) There might also be a problem that Krita does extensive swapping while you
paint. That is why I ask about the memory settings dialog.

only once. After, when I toggle twice, it goes forward only frame by frame.

I use muon 5.7 on neon dev unstable.
Under Wayland, when I open settings > Configure software sources I type my
password, window to edit repositories settings is not opened and muon only
updates the repositories index.
Under X11 I can edit software sources.

Well, check that the symlinks really point to the proper files, and try to
delete the icon cache (~/.cache/iconcache.kcache).

My "assumption" is just that the icons should rather belong to /actions/ for
organizational reasons.
AFAIK it should not matter in regards to this bug that they are in /emblems/
instead (otherwise I would have reopened it).

You could ask, but I doubt Arch or any other distro would respin a package just
to add a patch for a non-critical (even though very annoying) bug, especially
when a bug-fix version of the application will be released shortly.  

Wait until 5.0.1 is released, then check how soon Arch will package it - and my
guess is that they will be rather quick about it.   

If you really want the fix now, then recompiling yourself is probably the best
short term option.  As Thomas said, you don't need to apply any patch if you
just compile from the head of the 5.0 branch.

See comment 5 - I think these are the optimizations applied based on build
type.  Do you know if there is any other way to force an optimization level?

I built all three build types with two versions of gcc with no crash, so if
optimization level matters, there is some other parameter or library that is
also related.  If we can't find a way to consistently cause the problem, even
if only for one or two people, we wont know whether any fixes are really
relevant.

Example of Bad Lines.

Ok, but what should it be set to? KDevelop doesn't really know what kind of
program could be used to query a password, no?
Maybe a call to KDevelop itself with a new parameter could be used? Like:

Then, question: should I just locally apply the patch and recompile the package
(in my case, for Arch linux), or would be seen as acceptable contacting the
packager to include this specific commit?

Videos encoded in different codecs with transparent background

I am going to make motion graphics in Adobe After Effects or Apple Motion and
use it in kdenlive. I have explored available export video formats, because I
feel it more comfortable than image sequences.

Some codecs are not transparent in Kdenlive timeline and one codec is not
transparent in project bin clip icon.

I have tested all available standard export codecs in Ae which support alpha
(except DNxHD/DNxHR) and additionally I have installed TechSmith Screen Capture
codec v1 in Windows. It also supports transparency and became available to
export using it in Ae. In Motion I have tested ProRes  and Animation (via
Apple Compressor settings) codecs.

Here is list of issues that I have found in format
Container - Codec - What's wrong - ffmpeg supports alpha:
Avi - tscc - bbg*, bbgpb* - probably not**
QuickTime - GoPro CineForm - bbg - yes
QuickTime - ProRes  - bbg - yes

* bbg - means black background in timeline when placing above some clip instead
of transparent background
* bbgpb - black bg in project bin in clip icon instead of transparent

** I have tested if ffmpeg itself supports transparency for the codec. I used a
command like this:
ffmpeg -i normal_video.mp4 -i motion_graphics_with_transparent_bg.mov
-filter_complex "[0:v][1:v] overlay=25:25" -pix_fmt yuv420p -c:a copy
output.mp4
It worked for both mentioned codecs in quicktime, but did not work for
Avi-tscc. Maybe ffmpeg just do not support transparency for tscc? How can I
know that for sure? Because I would prefer tscc over Quicktime-Animation,
because it compresses file size much-much better.

Sample videos encoded with problematic codecs are attached in tar archive.
Additionally there is quicktime-animation sample, which appears transparent in
kdenlive, as expected.

Actually this is just linker warning, and linker warnings are treated as errors
by default in KF5. You can workaround it by changing linker flags to disable
treating warnings as errors.
