[krita] [Bug 399152] New: [feature request] create new layers above the selected group

2018-09-27 Thread bugzilla_noreply
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=399152

Bug ID: 399152
Summary: [feature request] create new layers above the selected
group
   Product: krita
   Version: 4.1.1
  Platform: MS Windows
OS: MS Windows
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Usability
  Assignee: krita-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: katearche...@yandex.ru
  Target Milestone: ---

When creating new layer with the selected group the layer is created inside the
group, i.e. one level down.

how to reproduce:
1. Create a group.
2. Select it.
3. Create a new layer(via hotkey or a button at the bottom of the layer
docker).
4. The layer is created inside the group, one level down from the selected
position in the layer stack.

Expected: As with the creation of the layers with a layer already selected in
the layer docker, I expect it to create a layer above the group layer, not
inside/under.

This is bothering me for three reasons:

First is inconsistency, since creation of the layer with a layer selected works
in one way(creates a layer on the same hierarchy level as firstly selected and
placed above it) and creation of the layer with a group selected works in other
way(creates a layer one hierarchy level down inside the group under the
selected position in the layer docker).

The second is that it can be pretty frustrating to pull that created layer back
to the top hierarchy level if there are no individual layers there since the
gaps between groups are too small and seven times of ten tries you'll drop that
layer not between groups but inside of them.

The third one is it's an extra action where it shouldn't be. If I want to
create a layer inside a group I choose a layer inside a group and I'll be fine.
If I want to create a layer on the same level of hierarchy I'll choose the
element on the same level and I'll be fine. But with this behaviour I spent one
extra action to get where I want to for now reason, since the only use case I
can imagine this behaviour is make sense when you have an empty group and that
is in my opinion is far more rare situation than a creation of the layer
without wanting it to go under, not above the selected element of the layer
stack.

I know that it's kinda debatable but nonetheless kinda bothering me every time
when I fight with the layer docker over trying to place the layer where I want
in to be(Both in terms of logic of the placement and not-so-refined margins of
the drop-zones).

X or wayland?

Also window_state_event is an internal GTK thing, if you can phrase things in
terms of the relevant atoms / protocols that's a lot more useful.

[kate] [Bug 399151] New: Kate Quick Open Search Performance Regression

2018-09-27 Thread bugzilla_noreply
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=399151

Bug ID: 399151
Summary: Kate Quick Open Search Performance Regression
   Product: kate
   Version: 18.04.3
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: kwrite-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: averageradi...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
Hi, I love Kate and use it every day; thank you. One feature I've used for
years it the Quick Open Search (mapped to Ctrl+Tab) which lets me quickly
change files. The number of open files in my main project has not changed in
magnitude, yet recent updates to Kate seemed to behave magnitudes slower,
taking up to 3-4 seconds to even open the Quick Open Search. I'm running
18.04.3 which is the latest version available in Fedora 28. Before I dive into
performance analysis with pstack, perf, etc., I wanted to check if there are
known issues in this area of code that may have caused a regression or if this
is a consequence of a by-design change that is required?

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open a few thousands files in Kate
2. Open Quick Open Search
3. Observe it takes multiple seconds just to open the dialog, but on older
versions this was much faster

OBSERVED RESULT
Slow performance

EXPECTED RESULT
Better performance as in previous releases

SOFTWARE VERSIONS
(available in About System)
KDE Plasma Version: 5.13.4
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.48.0
Qt Version: 5.11.1

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Might be related to bug 387360, although I'm not opening a different number of
files than what I had in older versions when it was faster.

matter what settings i choose for displays order or primary, it just always

happens but if i go into the display settings and unify monitors, then
'deunify' them, i can set my monitors any way i like and it will persist across

Pushed by anaidu into branch '5.3'.

Sublime: Fix crash when changing areas

Summary:
Fixes regression introduced in D15450 by making IdealButtonBarLayout derive
from
QBoxLayout instead of QLayout and thus delete most operations to Qt instead
of manually handling them, removing the bugged implementation.

Added minimumSizeHint in IdealToolButton to prevent it from being resized
to zero.

IdealButtonBarLayout is now a child layout for vertical bars as well,
the top level layout is stretched and allows for context menu.

SUMMARY
Trying out Plasma 5.14 beta, one problem happens:

Using a wine application ( the application i am testing this is a wine app ),
in Xorg, makes latte-dock always use 2~5% cpu, even if nothing is happening.
Also happens if I make the kwin rule to "skip taskbar" to "force" yes ( even if
the app itself is not present in the taskbar ).

When using Wayland, this doesn't happens. Also when using previous plasma (
5.13 ) this also doesn't happens.

How can I help and give more info about what latte-dock is trying/using cpu for
?

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Launch latte-dock
2. Launch wine app ( in my case, SierraCharts )
3. Launch ksysguard and notice latte-dock always using around 5% cpu, even if
nothing happening.

My guess is the following: what you disable by this checkbox is the indexer,
and not file search itself. Files that are already indexed are still shown.

However, when you re-enable the checkbox, baloo wipes its index entirely and
starts building it from scratch. And that leads to no results (immediately
after enabling).

However, after some time they should appear. Is that the case?

Git commit 419a551baa3e2274bb13a7dad7b9d475eff39cd3 by Stefan Brüns.
Committed on 27/09/2018 at 15:37.
Pushed by bruns into branch 'master'.

[Fstab] Show non-empty share name in case root fs is exported

Summary:
The leading slash is stripped to save some space for the human readable
description ("share on server"). In case of an exported root filesystem,
this creates an empty export name, so readd the slash.

Test Plan:
Create two entries in fstab:
`server:/ /mnt/a/ nfs defaults 0 0`
`server:/b /mnt/b/ nfs defaults 0 0`
run e.g. solid-hardware5 list details
result
` description = '/ on server'`
` description = 'b on server'`

2018-09-27 Thread Peter Humphrey
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=399147

Bug ID: 399147
Summary: KMail2-5.9.1 spelling uses wrong dictionary in Subject
field
   Product: kmail2
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: composer
  Assignee: kdepim-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: pe...@prh.myzen.co.uk
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
KMail2-5.9.1 spelling uses wrong dictionary in Subject field

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open the composer
2. Write a Subject
3. If a word is spelt other than in US English, it's highlighted.

OBSERVED RESULT

"Behaviour" is correct in British English, which is selected in all my
profiles, but it's highlighted in the Subject field.

EXPECTED RESULT

"Behaviour" should not be highlighted in the Subject, because I have British
English selected.

SOFTWARE VERSIONS
See below:

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Whether the subject should be spell-checked at all is debatable, but if it is
it should use the same dictionary as the body.

[krita] [Bug 399120] Animation Curves docker has strange layout (negative values, max value (100 or 255) not visible) and is not intuitive

The reason for most of these shortcomings is that the curve docker was designed
to be a generic interface for all kinds of animated properties, but we haven't
had time to flesh out this feature yet. For example, this is why you see
negative values despite opacity only supporting the 0-255 range.

(In reply to Tymond from comment #0)
> - Values on the value axis (Y) are from -250 to 50 (probably; there is no

> values on the axes; I don't know, but the docker I see have wrong values

> used to show curves.
The scale is chosen to fit the curve. I agree this not working well for
opacity. For channels with a well-defined range we should fit to that range
instead.

> - you can't add a new opacity frame on the docker with the method mentioned
> above if the layer doesn't have any opacity frames yet (you need to do it by
> clicking "Add opacity frame" in another docker, i.e. Animation Docker)
The first keyframe cannot be added because the docker has no channel to add it
to. We could add a way to create one with the add keyframe button on the docker
much like in the animation docker.

> - the default value of the opacity frame is 0% instead of 100% or the
> general opacity of the layer
The default value should be the layer's current opacity. This is a clear bug.

I also agree that showing percentages, adding grid lines and allowing scrubbing
by clicking and dragging outside the nodes would be useful.

I found using aptitude easier to get wine-staging installed, I must admit it is
a bit annoying that you must do this to make wine-staging work. Using
wine-staging is way too common these days. Could maybe check for a snap package
or something thoug.

Install aptitude if it isn't already, then type:
sudo aptitude install wine-staging

Then skip to the solution where it want to downgrade the -one- package
"libblkid1" - if you accidentally bypass it, just exit aptitude and start over.

Install "wine-staging-compat" if wine-staging is your only Wine and you want it
to be the default.

This bug is about the option to hide the HTML bar, which has existed for a long
time and is used and liked by many (and not by many others). This is not the
place to discuss alternative UI proposals. Please keep on topic.

Formally -- yes :)

But since things haven't moved forward for a year I've decided to draw some
attention to this problem since it's really annoys me and now is such an
opportunity to get it fixed during the bugsquashing campaign.

2018-09-27 Thread bugzilla_noreply
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=399146

Bug ID: 399146
Summary: Merging layers with alpha-inheritance ignores some of
the merged layers
   Product: krita
   Version: 4.1.1
  Platform: MS Windows
OS: MS Windows
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Layer Stack
  Assignee: krita-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: katearche...@yandex.ru
  Target Milestone: ---

Created attachment 115265
  --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=115265=edit
a alpha inheritance merge bug

If merging in a particular order some layers are being discarded rather then
merged.

How to reproduce:
1. Create three layers and group them(or download the example file)
2. Draw something on each of them.
3. Assign to the middle one an alpha inheritance.
4. Select the middle one(the one with the alpha-inheritance) first and the top
one second(the order is important).
5. Merge them.
6. The bottom layer will be discarded.

Expected: Being able to merge layers without loosing them in the process.

Alternate UI for the distracting and intrusive html bar

Is it necessary to keep it absolutely ugly and intrusive? Could we not come up
with a UI that is less distracting to the users. Take for example, it can be
shown at the top like the external resources message is shown which is less
intrusive. Please see the screenshot attached.
