[krita] [Bug 399152] New: [feature request] create new layers above the selected group
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=399152 Bug ID: 399152 Summary: [feature request] create new layers above the selected group Product: krita Version: 4.1.1 Platform: MS Windows OS: MS Windows Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: Usability Assignee: krita-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: katearche...@yandex.ru Target Milestone: --- When creating new layer with the selected group the layer is created inside the group, i.e. one level down. how to reproduce: 1. Create a group. 2. Select it. 3. Create a new layer(via hotkey or a button at the bottom of the layer docker). 4. The layer is created inside the group, one level down from the selected position in the layer stack. Expected: As with the creation of the layers with a layer already selected in the layer docker, I expect it to create a layer above the group layer, not inside/under. This is bothering me for three reasons: First is inconsistency, since creation of the layer with a layer selected works in one way(creates a layer on the same hierarchy level as firstly selected and placed above it) and creation of the layer with a group selected works in other way(creates a layer one hierarchy level down inside the group under the selected position in the layer docker). The second is that it can be pretty frustrating to pull that created layer back to the top hierarchy level if there are no individual layers there since the gaps between groups are too small and seven times of ten tries you'll drop that layer not between groups but inside of them. The third one is it's an extra action where it shouldn't be. If I want to create a layer inside a group I choose a layer inside a group and I'll be fine. If I want to create a layer on the same level of hierarchy I'll choose the element on the same level and I'll be fine. But with this behaviour I spent one extra action to get where I want to for now reason, since the only use case I can imagine this behaviour is make sense when you have an empty group and that is in my opinion is far more rare situation than a creation of the layer without wanting it to go under, not above the selected element of the layer stack. I know that it's kinda debatable but nonetheless kinda bothering me every time when I fight with the layer docker over trying to place the layer where I want in to be(Both in terms of logic of the placement and not-so-refined margins of the drop-zones). -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[kate] [Bug 399151] New: Kate Quick Open Search Performance Regression
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=399151 Bug ID: 399151 Summary: Kate Quick Open Search Performance Regression Product: kate Version: 18.04.3 Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: kwrite-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: averageradi...@gmail.com Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY Hi, I love Kate and use it every day; thank you. One feature I've used for years it the Quick Open Search (mapped to Ctrl+Tab) which lets me quickly change files. The number of open files in my main project has not changed in magnitude, yet recent updates to Kate seemed to behave magnitudes slower, taking up to 3-4 seconds to even open the Quick Open Search. I'm running 18.04.3 which is the latest version available in Fedora 28. Before I dive into performance analysis with pstack, perf, etc., I wanted to check if there are known issues in this area of code that may have caused a regression or if this is a consequence of a by-design change that is required? STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Open a few thousands files in Kate 2. Open Quick Open Search 3. Observe it takes multiple seconds just to open the dialog, but on older versions this was much faster OBSERVED RESULT Slow performance EXPECTED RESULT Better performance as in previous releases SOFTWARE VERSIONS (available in About System) KDE Plasma Version: 5.13.4 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.48.0 Qt Version: 5.11.1 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Might be related to bug 387360, although I'm not opening a different number of files than what I had in older versions when it was faster. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[krita] [Bug 399120] Animation Curves docker has strange layout (negative values, max value (100 or 255) not visible) and is not intuitive
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=399120 joup...@gmail.com changed: What|Removed |Added Status|REPORTED|CONFIRMED Ever confirmed|0 |1 CC||joup...@gmail.com --- Comment #1 from joup...@gmail.com --- The reason for most of these shortcomings is that the curve docker was designed to be a generic interface for all kinds of animated properties, but we haven't had time to flesh out this feature yet. For example, this is why you see negative values despite opacity only supporting the 0-255 range. (In reply to Tymond from comment #0) > - Values on the value axis (Y) are from -250 to 50 (probably; there is no > number); negative values are impossible to set, while positive values can be > set from 0 to 255, as expected and written in Krita Manual > (https://docs.krita.org/fr/reference_manual/dockers/animation_curve.html on > date: 26.09.2018). Also the docker shown in the manual seems to have correct > values on the axes; I don't know, but the docker I see have wrong values > (see attachment). Possible reason: no min and max values set in the widget > used to show curves. The scale is chosen to fit the curve. I agree this not working well for opacity. For channels with a well-defined range we should fit to that range instead. > - you can't add a new opacity frame on the docker with the method mentioned > above if the layer doesn't have any opacity frames yet (you need to do it by > clicking "Add opacity frame" in another docker, i.e. Animation Docker) The first keyframe cannot be added because the docker has no channel to add it to. We could add a way to create one with the add keyframe button on the docker much like in the animation docker. > - the default value of the opacity frame is 0% instead of 100% or the > general opacity of the layer The default value should be the layer's current opacity. This is a clear bug. I also agree that showing percentages, adding grid lines and allowing scrubbing by clicking and dragging outside the nodes would be useful. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
