yes Name and Nickname are correctly filled in G contacts

just choose "reverse name" then you see contact changes its place and is
displayed as "Name" "Nickname"
then
sync
then
again contact is displayed as "Nickname" "Name"

and you get a goodie : photo disappears !

I confirm that this issue also happens in the 4.2.0-pre-alpha (git 7dc0c43)
appimage.

It does not happen if the vector image is made of three ellipses made with the
ellipse drawing tool (simple smooth shapes) but it does happen if a raster
drawing is made by hand (rough irregular shapes).

SUMMARY
Somebit hard to describe. Latte dock replaces the whole control bar in my
system. It also contains the system tray. And usually the notifications may
contain html and are using plasma theme and so on. But of course latte-dock has
an auto start file. But if it start automatically the notifications are ugly
(in the politest form) and are not clickable, closable can not have buttons
etc. This also not changes unless I run `latte-dock --replace`.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. replace all control bars with a latte dock
2. add latte dock to auto start
3. restart (not logout and login)

The original kra file

SUMMARY
I have drawn a picture on a vector layer, with a colorize mask. Those two
layers are inside a group, which has a transform mask.
Whenever I open the drawing, it only shows part of it.

This is troublesome because I have more layers in my final drawing and it often
happens that I only see parts of the drawing. Also, if I export this, it will
export it as shown on my screen.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open attached issue.kra in Krita, you will see that only part of the image
is drawn (screenshot krita1.png attached)
2. Disable the transform mask, disable the vector layer, and re-enable them,
the picture is now fully shown (screenshot krita2.png attached)

OBSERVED RESULT
Only part of the picture is drawn

EXPECTED RESULT
The picture to be drawn completely

WORKAROUND
It seems that creating a clone layer and do the transform on the clone layer
does not have this issue.

[kdenlive] [Bug 404680] New: timeline refactor 2019-02-21_Composition effect issues.

2019-02-21 Thread Evert Vorster
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=404680

Bug ID: 404680
   Summary: timeline refactor 2019-02-21_Composition effect
issues.
   Product: kdenlive
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: User Interface
  Assignee: j...@kdenlive.org
  Reporter: evors...@protonmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
The composition effect is only applied from the first frame of a clip down to
the next clip. This makes sense only in about 50% of the cases where I need a
transition composition.

BACKGROUND STORY
When doing cross fades in audio included in video clips, it is easy and quick
to use two video and two audio tracks, and then just let the videos alternate
on the tracks. This means that 50% of the time I want to do a cross fade the
video I want to fade to is on the video track above. When I select the top clip
and add composition, the composition effect is generated properly.

However, when the video clip is below the previous one is where the fun starts.

When I select the bottom clip and add the composition, the composition is
automatically added between the video clip and it's audio track, which makes no
sense. I cannot imagine a case where one would want to have a composition
between video and audio.

If I select the top clip, and add the composition, then the composition is
generated from the first frame of the top clip to the last frame of the
previous clip. However, I want to generate a composition from the first frame
of the bottom clip to the last frame of the top clip.

So, I drag the composition over to the end of the top clip, aligning the last
frame of the composition with the last frame of the top clip. Now I find out
that the first frame of the composition is not adjustable by dragging the
mouse.
So, I align the first frame of the composition with the first frame of the
bottom clip, and then I am able to drag the last frame of the composition to
align it with the last frame of the top clip.

So, there is a workaround. Unfortunately the first time I tired this my UI
froze. I have not been able to replicate the UI freeze again, but there are a
few UI bugs in adding compositions.

In my latest test of the timeline refactoring branch today, I found it quite
stable and use-able.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
0. Generate a new project with at least two video and two audio tracks.
1. Add three video clips with audio to the timeline.
2. First video clip to the bottom video track
3. Second video clip to the top video track
4. Thirds video clip to the bottom video track
5. Move clips so that they overlap by a few frames.
6. Select video clip 3
7. Righ-click and add composition

OBSERVED RESULT
Composition added between video clip and it's own audio track.

EXPECTED RESULT
Composition added between top and bottom video clip, extending from first frame
of bottom clip to last frame of top clip.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Arch Linux, updated on 2019-2

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
1. I seriously miss being able to add a composition by just dragging on the
clip.

2. First frame of the composition should be adjustable by dragging the front of
the composition.

Saving Mirror Tool state to KRA

Summary:
Saving Mirror Tool state to KRA file, wished for in bug 339515.

Test Plan:
  - Set up mirror lines. Save, close and reopen. Expected result: the mirror
lines and options should be automatically set and activated.
  - Open multiple files, with and without mirror lines. Expected result: Every

Yes, I did. I searched for guitar tabs for 'Wish you were here' which produced
a number of results as seen here :
https://www.ultimate-guitar.com/search.php?search_type=title=wish%20you%20were%20here

But still no luck.

Changing the status back to reported.
Thanks.

Ok, i've found the problem. I've had ssh-add command running on system startup
and it was causing plasmashell to not load. I leave this open for now until i
test this with some other DE. However it is still strange, how can a console
utility cause this?

Otherwise you can do actions on null. It doesn't crash, but is very wrong.

Also, there should be a message welcoming the user since it can only happen
before using the apps for the first time.

When calling someone who was very recently online, but closed their computer,
calls have the little initialization wheel going on for ever, long after the
daemon gave up completing the handshake. That problem might be in the daemon,
it needs to be investigated.

2019-02-21 Thread Emmanuel Lepage Vallée
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=404673

Bug ID: 404673
Summary: Adding someone using a ringid alone regressed
   Product: ring-kde
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: emmanuel.lep...@kde.org

  Target Milestone: ---

It can be done by adding a contact manually, which is hidden deep, but still
possible. However it was intended to work by pasting it in the searchbox, but
this somehow no longer pass the validation and the result is "disabled" and you
cannot click on it with a wrong "this is invalid" message.

Some validation code is having false negatives again.

At some point it was in the statusbar, but there is no statusbar anymore. At
some other points it was next to each message, but that was noisy, slow and was
removed.

So now you send messages, they may fail and internally it is known, but it
isn't displayed.

A new error disclosure message is definitely needed. Maybe also playing with
the color or opacity of the outgoing messages.

Git commit d2d33a20b0e08e12f54c46d1918aa2160c92bd81 by Nate Graham.
Committed on 22/02/2019 at 01:51.
Pushed by ngraham into branch 'Plasma/5.15'.

[Updates page] Try our best to not elide version strings

Summary:
With this patch, Discover will try its back to never elide version strings on
the
Updates page. It will first fall back to a shorter squeezed string that only
shows the
available version, then elide from the left so that the most important part
doesn't get
cut off.

All of this is mostly only a problem on KDE Neon when using widescreen or
mobile view,
but it's nice to fix anyway.

I agree! However, things don't always get done immediately. Most of the people
who work on Dolphin are unpaid volunteers (which makes its current level of
quality pretty amazing, if you think about). A little patience goes a long way.

Same here on Gentoo Linux. Happens with plasma-5.15.0 and -5.15.1

It seems like entries from last virtual desktop get "wrapped around" and appear

[digikam] [Bug 382646] XMP sidecar file doesn't contain GPS tags

2019-02-21 Thread Mark F
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=382646

Thanks Maik and Gilles for looking into this so fast!

Weird that it doesn't happen for you. I was using the AppBundle
(digikam-6.0.0-x86-64.appimage), and am on Ubuntu 18.04.2. I originally had the
'write metadata to RAW files' option turned off in digiKam (having followed the
recommendation in the setup wizard), but then after I hit 'apply' in the
correlator tool and getting an error saying it hadn't written any information,
I adjusted the settings to write to XMP sidecars and tried the 'write metadata'
menu option (which produced the XMP file attached earlier).

I worked around this by reading the location details from the SQLite db, and
then using exiftool (v10.80) to write the values directly to my NEF files:

sqlite3 digikam4.db
sqlite> .headers on
sqlite> .mode csv
sqlite> .output geotags.csv
sqlite> SELECT name, latitudeNumber, longitudeNumber, altitude FROM
ImagePositions JOIN Images WHERE Images.id = ImagePositions.imageId;

"""
#!/usr/bin/env python3
import csv
import os
import subprocess

PHOTO_DIR = os.path.join('my', 'photos')

with open('geotags.csv') as geotags_file:
  geotags_reader = csv.DictReader(geotags_file)
  for row in geotags_reader:
name = row['name']
lat, lng = float(row['latitudeNumber']), float(row['longitudeNumber'])
alt = row['altitude']
print('%s: %s,%s %s' % (name, lat, lng, alt))
subprocess.check_call([
'exiftool',
# https://www.sno.phy.queensu.ca/~phil/exiftool/TagNames/GPS.html
'-GPSLongitude=%s' % abs(lng),
'-GPSLatitude=%s' % abs(lat),
'-GPSLongitudeRef=%s' % ('East' if lng > 0 else 'West'),
'-GPSLatitudeRef=%s' % ('North' if lat > 0 else 'South'),
'-GPSAltitude=%s' % alt,
'-GPSAltitudeRef=+',
os.path.join(PHOTO_DIR, name),
])

We now use QNetworkAccessManager for API calls and QWebEngine for the
authentication window, all of them use system-wide proxy configuration, so if
it does not work, it may be a problem in your proxy configuration.

Marking as fixed, we let Qt do its magic, so from our side all is good.

The problem was in the soname (or the missing soname symlinks) if I recall
correctly, this should be fixed now, though.

Is this still reproducible? I haven't heard anything from opensuse packagers in

[digikam] [Bug 404667] New: Bug of proofing for illuminant A and color cast

2019-02-21 Thread Aleksei Korobov
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=404667

Bug ID: 404667
Summary: Bug of proofing for illuminant A and color cast
   Product: digikam
   Version: 5.9.0
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: ColorManagement
  Assignee: digikam-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: koraa...@list.ru
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY

I've made 3 similar Windows RGB printer ICC profiles for illuminants D65, D50
and A using Argyll. Showfoto shows generally correct proofing for D65 and D50,
but shows orange image for A that is quite old one (tunstgen light 2850K). I've
also found that proofed images has some cast comparing to
GIMP/Photoshop/ACDSee.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Investigate the module for bugs and math errors.

SUMMARY

By the date ACDSee only allows to check image color including proofing of
thumbnails on the fly. Showphoto could make the same job for free.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE

1. A lot of work to give Showphoto quick start module.
2. Developing of image surfing targeted UI instead of album targeted one.

2019-02-21 Thread bugzilla_noreply
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=367480

Created attachment 118263
  --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=118263=edit
New crash information added by DrKonqi

baloo_file_extractor (5.54.0) using Qt 5.11.1

- What I was doing when the application crashed:
I was attempting to install a theme by unzipping a theme to my default folder.
The option to install or close was presented in systemsettings5 and I clicked
close.

Tried 2nd time to install but it would not create a dir. I don't have a user
nor default sddm.conf, so I tried using 'sddm -configure' but that didn't work
so I restarted sddm in TTY.

Once in desktop, my taskbar was filled with weird symbols and my title bars are
currently missing so I can only see half of the error report. Running 'sddm
sddm-kcm' gives me this (apologies for the poor formatting, when I try to click
'help and examples' I am spammed with Wine browsers infinitely until I run
pkill wine*):

[14:58:10.719] (II) DAEMON: Running: /usr/bin/X -nolisten tcp -auth
/var/run/sddm/{3d2453e3-66f9-44d0-888c-c76ca5528a4f} -background none -noreset
-displayfd 16 -seat seat0 vt1
[14:58:10.721] (EE) DAEMON: Failed to read display number from pipe
[14:58:10.721] (EE) DAEMON: Display server failed to start. Exiting
Aborted (core dumped)

Running 'sudo sddm sddm-kcm' hangs. It's probably related to the missing
titlebars due to ownership of my own userfiles being root.

- Unusual behavior I noticed:
Title bars missing, global shortcuts not working such as alt + tab (my own are,
though; ctrl + alt + T for terminal for instance), resizing windows not
working, wine browser is not set as a default application to open webpages and
somehow opens infinitely. This is my first report so I'm not sure if I should
be including all of this, I'd gladly submit separate reports given an
understanding and ability to do so.

Many packages for themes in repos are downloaded in a tar ball that need to be
manually unzipped.

- Custom settings of the application:
Baloo is untouched, attempt of custom KDE theme, 18.10 backports from PPA.

I think that would just be annoying, and expose unnecessary technical details.

Agreed. :)

I'm not sure I see what the actual problem is here, though. Why would it be
problematic for this fellow to just send the item to the trash normally?

Pass the startup ID to the second instance. See QX11Info::setNextStartupId()

Works here. It will be one of your local sourced scripts causing an issue.

If you include the output of "env" for both sessions, I might be able to help
you narrow down the cause.

In the meantime I suggest you trace what gets included from:
/usr/share/sddm/scripts/Xsession

it's a horrid mess of random legacy things.

  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: k...@davidedmundson.co.uk
  Reporter: sun...@hotmail.ru
CC: plasma-b...@kde.org
  Target Milestone: 1.0

SUMMARY
Basically as the title says. I can't login into Wayland session, the screen
goes black and nothing is happening.
But i can enter Wayland with newly created user.
My first thought was to bisect it by simply removing .local .config .cache see
if it works and go from there but it didn't help at all. Then i took new users
bashrc xinitrc and so on. When that didn't workout i simply copied
everything(.local,.config,.bashrc,.xinitrc etc.) but baloo index files to this
new user, changed ownership, and... he still could log in wayland session. Why?

It seems sddm wayland logging just don't work or doesn't catch it.

Where else user specific data might be stored?

I could ofcourse create the new user and simply transfer all of my settings
there but if this thing will keep on happening from time to time it won't be
fun.

Looking really good!

Maybe you were planning to do this anyway, but the sliders in your image just
made me aware that having an alpha % slider for the glow would actually be much
better than a simple on/off switch, because I could see a light glow being
nice, while others might like a glow more like it is now. And of course, some
might not want any glow at all.

Also wondering if there could be a slider for the radius of the app button's
corners.
