[plasmashell] [Bug 401808] kde fails to actualize a desktop at startup
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=401808 --- Comment #10 from George R. Goffe --- David, I have reinstalled several older versions of Fedora Core (27, 29, 31) in a virtual environment (VirtualBox). FC27 and FC29 seem to be working well... even with the startx and .xinitrc changes. I have been working on the Fedora Core 31 virtual machine by applying package installations "dnf install '*xorg*' and other "normal" upgrades but still no joy (WITH NOMODESET installed). I have removed the "nomodeset" kernel command-line parameter and am seeing a more or less "normal" response to the startx & .xinitrc setup. All these Fedora Core systems worked with "SDDM". As I understand it, "nomodeset" turns off the kernel level hardware support for the video card. Here's what one site says "https://askubuntu.com/questions/716957/what-do-the-nomodeset-quiet-and-splash-kernel-parameters-mean": The newest kernels have moved the video mode setting into the kernel. So all the programming of the hardware specific clock rates and registers on the video card happen in the kernel rather than in the X driver when the X server starts.. This makes it possible to have high resolution nice looking splash (boot) screens and flicker free transitions from boot splash to login screen. Unfortunately, on some cards this doesn't work properly and you end up with a black screen. Adding the nomodeset parameter instructs the kernel to not load video drivers and use BIOS modes instead until X is loaded. Have you seen anything in the KDE code that might depend on the setting of "nomodeset"? Regards, George... -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[ark] [Bug 382599] Progress bar does not work correctly during files extraction
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=382599 Ragnar Thomsen changed: What|Removed |Added Version Fixed In||19.04.0 Resolution|--- |FIXED Status|CONFIRMED |RESOLVED Latest Commit||https://commits.kde.org/ark ||/ce2f7f6690be1e5165ec1300af ||feabd5cc146e31 --- Comment #5 from Ragnar Thomsen --- Git commit ce2f7f6690be1e5165ec1300affeabd5cc146e31 by Ragnar Thomsen. Committed on 27/03/2019 at 19:12. Pushed by rthomsen into branch 'Applications/19.04'. Fix progress info for CreateJob Progress info is currently broken when creating archives using CreateJob. This happens e.g. when the user creates an archive through the KFileItemAction in Dolphin. This is caused by CreateJob using a nested AddJob and the percent signal of the AddJob was not forwarded to CreateJob. It was encessary to use QOverload since KJob has both a signal and a member function called percent. [plasmashell] [Bug 186181] Add config options for wallpaper slideshow order
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=186181 --- Comment #10 from Mihai Sorin Dobrescu --- I'd love to, but I need to learn QT and KDE first, I have no experience with these, except for using KDE on a daily basis. Also, I am totally noob at Linux development (I can get some sources and make so far). And KDE development setup is a completely unknown to me. I can try, sure, probably in a virtual machine? I've no idea what's the right, recomended and preferred Linux flavour for KDE development. Any hints? -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[lattedock] [Bug 405937] New: Improve tooltip "“Roundness used from Latte elements..."
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=405937 Bug ID: 405937 Summary: Improve tooltip "“Roundness used from Latte elements..." Product: lattedock Version: git (master) Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: application Assignee: mvourla...@gmail.com Reporter: michal.dybc...@gmail.com Target Milestone: --- My proposal would be: "Used to adjust corner roundness on dock’s background that comes from Plasma theme, if Automatic setting is not able to determine it." The current one is not clear at all: “Roundness used from Latte elements” - what are latte elements? So far I understand, this is applicable only for dock mode and it’s about dock background corners, which I tried to point out in my proposal. “in order to feel part of the current plasma theme” - what? what is this “feel”? This is highly unspecific. In my proposal, it’s “Used to adjust X that comes from Plasma theme, if Y” “when there are no other roundness information” - you mean the list? Yeah, that is hard to explain shortly but this doesn’t explain anything, I simplified it to “if Automatic setting is not able to determine it.” which is straight forward although omits the cause of such inability. Native English speakers, please correct it and propose improvements. [krita] [Bug 405879] Krita crashes after changing layer opacity.
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=405879 --- Comment #19 from godofwar8...@gmail.com --- Found out more info, bug can be triggered immediatly and less than in 1 seconds. Steps are below. If we right click on opacity bar, typing the value and quickly after that left click on canvas freeze happens. It depends on timing, if we do it very quickly the krita freezes immediatly, so if we skip pressing enter to apply specified layer opacity and left click it freezes, or even if we press enter to apply and simultaneously click left mouse to drag it also freezes. So the trigger is when layer opacity is changed by specific number, and simultaneously after that we try to draw on canvas it makes krita freeze. I hope this additional info helps you to find this bug better. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
