[dolphin] [Bug 404306] [Wayland] Sometimes Dolphin disappears (no entry in plasma panel and task switcher) when I open file properties window despite its process is still running according to Ksysguar
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=404306 --- Comment #3 from krewetki --- Confirmed on Manjaro Stable, Dell Inspiron 15R SE, X11: various applications' windows disappear, but... I'm running X11 in my case more actions reproduce the defect than just that sequence mentioned by OP. I struggle to pin-point them: i.e. happened when I tried to save a file in Kdenlive - all windows disappeared. This also happens when I try to switch from one tab to another in Firefox. It also happens when I switch from one window to another - will observe further and delete this line if I'm incorrect on this. It is very important to note that, at least in my case, this "disappearing windows" issue only happens when I click mouse. If I use, say Alt+Tab to switch windows or a key combination to bring up an app or window menu, then everything is OK. And I'm positive windows "disappear", because ps aux lists the process, I can still see "running" marker on an icon on KDE panel, and when I click that icon, seems that nothing happens (this would normally be minimising a window to tray), then a second click brings the window back (again, a normal action, except this time the window un-disappeared). (In reply to Patrick Silva from comment #0) > STEPS TO REPRODUCE > 1. start Wayland session > 2. open dolphin, right click on any file, select "properties" > 3. close file properties window, open any folder, open properties of another > file All windows disappeared when I was half way going through your steps... > OBSERVED RESULT > File properties window is open but Dolphin disappeared (no entry in plasma > panel and task switcher). [digikam] [Bug 406540] Add Metatags to Canon Raw
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=406540 --- Comment #31 from Maik Qualmann --- I've here tested under a recent Windows 10 in the VM with digiKam and Picasa. Fact1: With JPG, everything works as expected. Fact2: With RAW images no tags or rating are displayed in Explorer, although not available (can not be set). Fact3: Picasa displays the tags in the Properties view, but does not include them in the tags view for RAW files. Fact4: Tags added in Picasa are not written to the RAW files. If I overlook an option, please correct me. Conclusion: DigiKam does it all right, Explorer does not show tags for RAW files and Picasa only uses the DB for RAW files. https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=406608 --- Comment #6 from Stephane Couturier --- Thanks a lot for looking into this :) The report you created is correct indeed. https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=406718 --- Comment #1 from John Gehrig --- As per the documentation (https://api.kde.org/frameworks/kcoreaddons/html/classKJob.html#a975a15193b17d06e182f8fd55c5f0d8b) job->errorString() should only be called when job->error() != 0. https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=406718 Bug ID: 406718 Summary: SegFault in SDDM Theme Installer (sdmthemeinstaller.cpp) Product: frameworks-kcmutils Version: 5.14.0 Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: kdelibs-b...@kde.org Reporter: jdg_geh...@hotmail.com Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY The SDDM-KCM module does not work on my system. When trying to install themes, one of the error handling paths segfaults. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Open 'System Settings' 2. Click 'Startup and Shutdown' 3. Click Login Screen (SDDM) 4. Click 'Get New Theme' 5. Click 'Install' for any theme. 6. Segfault! OBSERVED RESULT The utility 'sddmthemeinstaller' segfaults. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION I have some (unknown) configuration issue on my system that is taking me down an error path. This error path is segfaulting because it makes some invalid assumptions about job->errorString(). Based on a quick glance at source code in master, it looks like this issue is still around. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=406712 Bug ID: 406712 Summary: applications associated with cantor backends should not be strong dependencies but recommendations Product: neon Version: unspecified Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: neon-b...@kde.org Reporter: jsar...@gmail.com CC: j...@jriddell.org, neon-b...@kde.org, sit...@kde.org Target Milestone: --- KDE neon should not apply strong dependencies on cantor backends, as users may have those applications from elsewhere (flatpak, snap, or own compilation). I workarounded this by modifying the control file of the deb package. Please see https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=406684#c2 for a context in which this is important. In short, ubuntu repos only offer 4.x versions of octave, which are discouraged, so I use the up-to-date stable version (currently Octave 5.1) via a flatpak container. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[cantor] [Bug 406684] backend is not compatible with up-to-date flatpak package of octave
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=406684 --- Comment #2 from avlas --- (In reply to Alexander Semke from comment #1) > (In reply to avlas from comment #0) > > there are problems with dependencies and system folders that are not visible > > because of how flatpak containers work, so wondering if the easiest way may > > be offering a flatpak version of cantor... > I think there is already a flatpack version of cantor. Please check the > flatpack repository mentioned here > https://community.kde.org/Guidelines_and_HOWTOs/Flatpak . But I'm not sure > this will solve your problem. Which kind of errors/problems do you get now? Indeed, cantor (master branch) is available for flatpak (I thought I had the repo enabled in my computer, but forgot I did in a different computer). Issues: - KDE neon package with Octave flatpak: 1) KDE neon should not apply strong dependencies on cantor backends, as users may have those applications from elsewhere (flatpak, snap, or own compilation). This is an issue I should report to KDE neon. I workarounded this by modifying the control file of the deb package. 2) Then, in Cantor, I configured the path to octave (from the flatpak container). This works, however the internal cantor scripts () fail. I could not figure out how to fix this. For instance, (i) first instruction fails with no output but "__cantor_delimiter_line__", (ii) plot instructions fail with "error: 'cantor_print' undefined near line 1 column 12". Also, variables do not appear in the workspace. - Flatpak versions (both Cantor Nightly and Octave Stable, i.e. 5.1 at this point) 3) There is no way I can make Cantor Nightly aware of Octave (so I couldn't test further than that). This may happen because they, being containers, do not see each other (use different filesystems). [krita] [Bug 406710] For HDR kra files, mergedimage.png and preview.png are in SDR and have wrong colors
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=406710 Alvin Wong changed: What|Removed |Added CC||al...@alvinhc.com --- Comment #2 from Alvin Wong --- I would really suggest to not change the existing behaviour and use another file for a flattened HDR image (perhaps with colour profile includd). We should avoid breaking existing tools/shell extensions which makes use of preview.png and mergedimage.png. The existing tools may not support loading such images. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[krita] [Bug 406710] New: For HDR kra files, mergedimage.png and preview.png are in SDR and have wrong colors
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=406710 Bug ID: 406710 Summary: For HDR kra files, mergedimage.png and preview.png are in SDR and have wrong colors Product: krita Version: nightly build (please specify the git hash!) Platform: MS Windows OS: MS Windows Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: Color models Assignee: krita-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: tamtamy.tym...@gmail.com Target Milestone: --- Created attachment 119530 --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=119530=edit Image preview test image SUMMARY When you save a HDR .kra file, next time you open Krita and look at Last Documents, you see it all wrong. It's because it shows the content of mergedimage.png or preview.png (not sure which), which is automatically converted to SDR. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Make a new HDR image. 2. Save as .kra file. 3a. Open Krita, look at Last Documents on welcome screen. 3b. Open as an archive, extract mergedimage.png and preview.png. Open them in Krita. OBSERVED RESULT Last Documents shows miniatures with wrong colors. Both images are in SDR and have wrong colors. (Some colors get lost while converting from float to integer.) EXPECTED RESULT Images in Last Documents are displayed correctly, in HDR. mergedimage.png is in HDR or at least has float color space assigned, so the colors won't be horribly wrong when displayed. The Screen Edge/Present Windows effect blocks this locking from happening. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Make sure [Desktop Behavior] -> [Screen Locking] is set to on. 2. Make sure [Desktop Behavior] -> [Screen Edges] has one of the edges set to "Present Windows". (Note I think this is default behavior). 3.
