An svg is rendered from a vector layer. The vector layer is composed only of
vector shapes and can be converted to svg allowing the resulting svg equal to
what you see in the layer and fully editable.

A krita project consists of many more layer types than vector objects. When
exporting to an svg from "File -> export", what it the user expected to get? a
fully editable svg with rastered included layers as base64 images? like this
Almost all filter effects would be missing and the image output would be
substancially different than the projection in krita. Another option would be
to allow the user to choose the vector layer to render, but then, it is more
straight forward to just have the option in the layer menu.

[krita] [Bug 408444] New: Include the 'SVG' filetype under File -> Export

2019-06-07 Thread jimbo
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=408444

Bug ID: 408444
Summary: Include the 'SVG' filetype under File -> Export
   Product: krita
   Version: 4.2.1
  Platform: MS Windows
OS: MS Windows
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: wishlist
  Priority: NOR
 Component: File formats
  Assignee: krita-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: loudsq...@tutanota.com
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
When exporting to a vector file you need to go to 'Menu bar -> Layers ->
Import/Export -> Save Vector Layer as SVG'. However this isn't as intuitive as
'Menu bar -> File -> Export' or even 'Save As'. If Krita has the ability to
export the layer as SVG why isn't it present as a filetype that you can save
to?

[krita] [Bug 408443] New: Input field on sliders don't lose focus when clicking outside of the input field

2019-06-07 Thread jimbo
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=408443

Bug ID: 408443
Summary: Input field on sliders don't lose focus when clicking
outside of the input field
   Product: krita
   Version: 4.2.1
  Platform: MS Windows
OS: MS Windows
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Usability
  Assignee: krita-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: loudsq...@tutanota.com
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
Input field on sliders don't lose focus when clicking outside of the input
field

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Select the Magic Wand Tool and Right Click any slider to enter it's input
field
2. Left Click within the Tool Options panel

OBSERVED RESULT
The input field still has focus after clicking away

EXPECTED RESULT
The input field loses focus

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Windows: Windows 7 Professional 64 bit
macOS:
Linux/KDE Plasma:
(available in About System)
KDE Plasma Version:
KDE Frameworks Version:
Qt Version:

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
This behaviour can confuse new users as the caret is tiny (and it can be
covered by the slider fill if the number is large enough) so when they try to
left click the slider again it no longer moves (because they are in the input
field). This breaks what the user expects the slider to do [and has caught me
out a few times when I first started learning Krita].

So, should you even allow the user to use left click to change the caret
position while on the slider? We only use it for numbers, which don't really
require that level of editing and when it interferes with the action of the
sliders it should be considered for removal.

P.S. Just noticed the panel, toolbar and brush settings now have consistent
Right Click behaviours. Thanks for fixing that!

2019-06-07 Thread Rob
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=405437

That sounds good. My thought is, if it runs without an illegal argument
exception, then the issue is probably with netpbm. If it fails, the issue is
probably related to python. If it is python, then I believe that the issue is
with some instructions in the python binaries that your processor can't handle.
We can probably fix that by running:

brew reinstall --build-from-source python3

which would be sure to make sure that your processor can handle everything
since it would be the one building it.

[krita] [Bug 408441] New: Deleting all the text in the 'Edit Text' box returns the font to default settings. Changing font settings with no text present will revert to default settings when typing.

2019-06-07 Thread jimbo

Bug ID: 408441
Summary: Deleting all the text in the 'Edit Text' box returns
the font to default settings. Changing font settings
with no text present will revert to default settings
when typing.
   Product: krita
   Version: 4.2.1
  Platform: MS Windows
OS: MS Windows
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Tool/Text
  Assignee: krita-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: loudsq...@tutanota.com
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
When editing text you usually change the font first, then select all the
placeholder text and start typing. However if you hit Backspace/Delete after
selecting all the text, the font you have selected defaults to MS Shell Dig 2,
Regular, 8px, Black.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open a new document and select the text tool
2. In the 'Edit Text' popup box change the font type, size and colour
3. Select all of the placeholder text and delete it

OBSERVED RESULT
The font now defaults to MS Shell Dig 2, Regular, 8px, Black.

EXPECTED RESULT
The font should keep it's settings when deleting all text.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Windows: Windows 7 Professional 64 bit
macOS:
Linux/KDE Plasma:
(available in About System)
KDE Plasma Version:
KDE Frameworks Version:
Qt Version:

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
If there is no text present (i.e. you deleted it all) and then you go to change
the font as described above, when you start to type again, Krita will default
to MS Shell Dig 2. This issue is probably tied into the above.

Also, the 'Edit Text' popup box has a blank title, shouldn't it say 'Edit Text
- Krita'? I'm nitpicking now but I'd thought I'd mention it while on the
subject.

Thanks for all your hard work!

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
As explained in this video which I recorded recently
(https://youtu.be/pp72jCFjUBE) these are the following steps:
1. Click on a random point on the canvas
2. Select the outline selection tool and attempt to select a section of the
layer you want to modify.

OBSERVED RESULT
If the point selected in the step one is outside or inside the selection, it
simply creates a weird shape instead of following the start and final point of
the selection.

EXPECTED RESULT
Should simply follow the start and final path of the selection, not considering
the last click before tracing it.

I just run into this problem, too. I have some activities with folder view,
added one Libreoffice spreadsheet from a subfolder of my home folder to one
activity so it was showing up on thaat desktop. Then I renamed it at the
desktop and it disappeared.

I found it after some search with a cryptic name Rk?{.jZl moved into the
home folder. I tested the bug doing the same procedure with a textfile, similar
result, but the file was called -m.

I think for some people that is like a data loss.

Bug ID: 408436
Summary: Some problems with lower left and right corner
highlighting for easy composition
   Product: kdenlive
   Version: 19.04.1
  Platform: MS Windows
OS: MS Windows
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR

  Target Milestone: ---

Created attachment 120682
  --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=120682=edit
Cannot add a composition again after previous composition removed

SUMMARY
Clicking lower left and right corner to add a composition is very convenient
and productive.
But, after these composition gets removed, the highlighting remains on the clip
even the mouse pointer is far away from the clip.
Moreover, after this, clicking the highlight does not add a composition any
more.
The only way I found to heal this state is to move the clip onto another track.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Place a clip in the project bin onto the timeline
2. Mouse over the lower left corner of the clip on the timeline --- (A)
3. Click the green square highlighting --- (B)
4. Remove the composition that has just been added --- (C)
5. Click the lower left corner green square highlighting again --- (D)
6. Mouse over the lower right corner of the clip --- (E)

OBSERVED RESULT
A. A green square appears at the lower left corner. NORMAL
B. A beginning composition is added to the clip. NORMAL
C. The composition gets removed. NORMAL
C. The green square highlighting on the lower left corner of the clip remains.
ABNORMAL
D. This time, nothing happens. ABNORMAL
E. A green square highlighting appears. NORMAL or ABNORMAL

EXPECTED RESULT
C. The highlighting should be invisible when the mouse pointer is not pointing
it
D. Like before, a composition should be added to the clip
E. Is this intended or mistake? IMHO, the lower right corner highlighting looks
better if it's color is RED. It will be consistent with other highlighting.

Workaround:
On OpenGL 2.0 or 3.1, set the animation speed 3 or higher fix completely the

If one chooses Xrender as the compositer, the problem is completely solved

2019-06-07 Thread Piotr Mierzwinski
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=408433

Bug ID: 408433
Summary: Amount of files in session folder, is increment after

  Platform: Archlinux Packages

Status: REPORTED

  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: k...@davidedmundson.co.uk
  Reporter: piotr.mierzwin...@gmail.com
CC: plasma-b...@kde.org
  Target Milestone: 1.0

SUMMARY
I have turned on restoring session, and as I mentioned in subject, amount of
files increasing at every restoring of session. Since January 17th (this year)
just 876 files were collected in folder ~/.config/session.
Is it possible to clean this folder automatically, and left only necessary
files. I don't know if this should be handled by Plasma maintainer in my
distribution or should be done on Plasma side (plasmashell).

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. turn on restore session
2. run couple applications
3. log out
4. log in
Repeat last two steps several time.

OBSERVED RESULT
Increasing amount of files in ~/.config/session folder

EXPECTED RESULT
Folder ~/.config/session should contain only necessary files and not all
including historical files, which will be probably never used in the future.

1. Enable adjacent ship mode
2. Start new game
3. Beat an opponent's ship

konqueror crash report

SUMMARY

Konqueror produces a crash message on closing (as per the attachment) when
using 'webengine' as a backend with qt 5.12.3. First seen with opensuse
tumbleweed (and now with kde neon today following the upgrade to qt 5.12.3).
Rolling back qt to 5.12.2 resolves the problem (with opensuse tumbleweed).

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. use konqueror (current version or earlier versions - no difference) with
'webengine' as a backend with qt 5.12.3
2. Happens on every occasion when closing konqueror
3. Happens with different systems (for example kde neon and opensuse
tumbleweed) whenever qt 5.12.3 is installed.

Kai, where do you think this bug should be reported instead? I'll gladly report
to the right place.

Just to mention a real situation where this bug can affect users: Yesterday
this issue occurred at the translation agency I work with, a colleague was
attempting to make a backup copy before a clean reinstall of the system and put
it on the samba share, the operation couldn't finish before I located and
renamed all 4 files that were more than 126 characters long from within 6
folders. Dolphin search was of great help in this case.

While naming files like this is unpractical and unreasonable, clients
occasionally send such files to us, this bug doesn't occur on MATE nor Windows,
and the workaround is rather time consuming.

Thanks for the report Ray.

The /run/user/1000/doc/584fdf25/ folder does not look like something for
end-user, especially in terms of permissions, hence the "Record changing
failed" - te file might be seen as read-only. You may want to copy the file to
a read-write location.

PS: Is this 3.2 beta? 3.2.0 final is e2eb6f46529 (kexi.git, git tag v3.2.0).

[kstars] [Bug 405437] Local astrometry server crashes after upgrading from KStars 2.9.8 to KStars 3.1.0, and 3.1.1 afterwards

2019-06-07 Thread Rob
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=405437

Ok then lets see if there is something different about your processor or if it
is an issue with solve-field or netpbm.

This will give us information about the processor, so we can see if anything is
weird there:

sysctl -n machdep.cpu.brand_string

This should give you a list of what solve-field can do (I assume this won't
give a illegal instruction error, if it does, that says a lot):

/Applications/kstars.app/Contents/MacOS/astrometry/bin/solve-field -h

Now lets run a test of solve field that should not use netpbm:

This should download a test file that I made for astrometry to use:
curl -o ~/Downloads/test.xyls
https://bugsfiles.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=120664
This will put python3 in your path for the solver:
export PATH=/usr/local/opt/python/libexec/bin:$PATH
And this should try to solve it in solve field:

[kde] [Bug 408395] Window List Widget No Longer Categorizes windows under an Activity heading; only under desktop # regardless of Activity

Thank you for your prompt reply!

Duh, on my part. I just assumed a distribution upgrade to Debian Stretch would
have me on at least a currently supported release of KDE. I will be more
careful in the future before posting bug reports...

[kdeconnect] [Bug 399537] Replying to SMS with the wrong sim-card

2019-06-07 Thread Simon
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=399537

To be clear, the use-case (slash problem) here is when using the pop-up reply
box to reply to SMS?

I believe this will be fixed with the recent support for reply-able
notifications (because this will delegate selection of the proper SIM card to
the phone's messaging app). I don't think this has been released yet but I
expect it will be part of the next release.

(I can't remember whether or not this feature has been released, if you get an
MMS, or a non SMS message like WhatsApp or Telegram, do you have the option to
reply to that?)

[kdevelop] [Bug 408422] New: Find/replace in files makes KDevelop laggy/unresponsive if match is found in very long line

2019-06-07 Thread frmdstryr
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=408422

Bug ID: 408422
Summary: Find/replace in files makes KDevelop
laggy/unresponsive if match is found in very long line
   Product: kdevelop
   Version: 5.3.2
  Platform: Neon Packages
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: wishlist
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Output Views
  Assignee: kdevelop-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: frmdst...@protonmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY

When doing a find/replace in files in a project which contains minified
javascript files KDevelop becomes laggy when a search returns a match in the
file. This seems to be because these minified files are a single line that may
be upwards of several hundered kb.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Download one or more large minified js file and include in a project eg
https://code.jquery.com/jquery-3.4.1.min.js
2. Include *.js filter and search for a string within the file eq "jQuery"
3. Open the find/replace tool view and scroll until the result is in view

OBSERVED RESULT

When the result shows up in he find/replace tool view KDevelop becomes very
laggy especially the mouse goes over the result.

EXPECTED RESULT

KDevelop should limit the amount of text it displays in the result list and
tooltip to avoid any lag. Perhaps make the size adjustable.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS

Linux/KDE Plasma:
(available in About System)
KDE Plasma Version: 5.15.5
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.58.0
Qt Version: 5.12.0

Hi Rob,

Yes, it’s an Air running 10.14.5. When I typed “which python3” into Terminal,
it gave me the following: /usr/local/bin/python3

That’s all…

So just to clarify, the machine causing the astrometry error is running
10.14.5? Also this is a MacBook Air?

And when you type:

which python3

into a terminal, what prints?
