Trying to send an email. I added two-factor authentication and XOAUTH stopped

[okular] [Bug 411374] New: search on continuous view often mispositions search for non-last column

2019-08-27 Thread Dave Gilbert
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=411374

Bug ID: 411374
Summary: search on continuous view often mispositions search
for non-last column
   Product: okular
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: okular-de...@kde.org
  Reporter: gilbertd+...@treblig.org
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
WHen you search for something the page the result is in is scrolled partially
to make sure the result is visible; however when you've got multiple pages
visible across this often results in you being able to see the bottom of the
page with the result text but the start of the next page is off the top.

I find this quite frustrating on huge documents/

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Select continuous with facing pages or overview (for the example I used
facing)
2. Search for something near the bottom of a page that will appear in the left
column (e.g. in my example start at the bottom of the document and then search
for 'bottom of page 1')

OBSERVED RESULT
'bottom of page1' is visible part way up the screen, but the top of page 2
isn't visible because it's scrolled off the top

EXPECTED RESULT
I want to be able to carry on reading from the search point; so I think the
rule is:
  a) If the window height allows a full page or more vertically and
  b) The search result is not in the page in the last column

then scroll so that the top of the page with the search result is visible
(actually we're interested in the top of the next page but that's getting
complex)

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux/KDE Plasma: Linux Fedora 30 under xfce, okular head
(available in About System)
KDE Plasma Version:
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.59.0
Qt Version: 5.12.4

[korganizer] [Bug 411373] New: Nextcloud calendar disappears

2019-08-27 Thread Thomas Tanghus
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=411373

Bug ID: 411373
   Summary: Nextcloud calendar disappears
   Product: korganizer
   Version: 5.10.3
  Platform: Ubuntu Packages
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: monthview
  Assignee: kdepim-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: tho...@tanghus.net
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
I recently reinstalled/upgraded to Kubuntu 19.04, and wanted to see, if kde-pim
stability had improved. I was first very pleasantly surprize-d - for a while.
Now it's the calendar that's acting up.

I have 4 calendars in my Nextcloud instance. They all work fine in Thunderbird,
Nextcloud web-client and to a certain degree in SailfishOS.
Two times within a week, the calendar, where I keep the events (the others are
for Tasks, Journal and Contact Birthdays) doesn't show any events in Month
view.
First time I Shut down akonadi, removed every trace of the Nextcloud Akonadi
agent, and recreated it.
It worked fine for a day or two, but now the events are not showing up in
korganizer. Again, it shows perfectly fine in other clients, and I can see the
events in akonadiconsole.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Configure a Nextcloud agent.
2. Wait

OBSERVED RESULT
The calendar disappears after some time.

EXPECTED RESULT
I should be able to use the calendar.

Hey Benjamin, thanks for the report.

This is very likely a bug in Krita's resource system (the system that handles
all of the brushes, patterns, tags, etc.), which is currently being overhauled
by Boud. There are a lot of known issues and bugs with our current system, but
we're working on it.

I'm going to resolve this bug report for now, as it should be addressed when
the new resource system is merged.

Thanks again.

I don't know where language.dtd is located, but the current validation uses XML
Schema Definition (language.xsd) to validate the format. The content is very
different from a dtd file and the verification is done with --schema rather
than --valid.

xmllint --noout --schema data/schema/language.xsd file.xml

The xmllint error seems to come from the dtd parser that does not recognize the
format.

[krita] [Bug 410966] Canvas is not editable

Hello,

In going back, I could not find any section of the picture that was
selected by any tool for editing.
In doing so however, I did discover using the rectangle tool to highlight
the whole canvas reversed whatever I previously did so that I may continue
working on the picture.

I'm not sure what I could have done with the crop tool to cause this
problem, but that's an update I can give you.

Thanks for your help,

Katie

[frameworks-syntax-highlighting] [Bug 395063] Haskell highlighting of multiline signatures

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=395063

Jonathan Poelen changed:

KSyntaxhighlighting works only per line and cannot "look" at the following
lines. When a line is consumed, it is no longer possible to change the state of
the previous one.

Haskell's problem is that it is not possible to differentiate a function or a
signature by looking only at the first line if it only contains one word.

example -- signature or function ?
 :: IO()
example -- signature or function ?
 = putStrLn "Hello"

example :: -- signature
 IO()
example = -- function
 putStrLn "Hello

This problem cannot be solved without radically modifying the interface and
softwares that use it.

Thanks for the test pictures. These are similar to what I already tested. My
computer is older, 2 cores and 8GB RAM. Yes, the loading with ImageMagick
consumes a lot of memory, up to 6GB and slow. But no memory hole. The
fingerprints can also be created. You probably should not run the fingerprints
with all cores.

Bear in mind that such images yield a huge amount of data as bitplanes, several
layers, etc. The ImageMagick loader needs here to load my XCF image up to
4.5GB. The image buffer is about 350MB at the end. The image cache was set to

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=411367

Bug ID: 411367
Summary: Plasma Workspace refuses to log out/reboot/shut down
with message "logout has been canceled by
/usr/bin/krusader"
   Product: krusader
   Version: 2.7.1
  Platform: Gentoo Packages
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: krusader-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: k...@equaeghe.nospammail.net
CC: krusader-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Target Milestone: ---

Sometimes, when I try to shut down (or reboot or log out), I get the message

"logout has been canceled by /usr/bin/krusader"

Sometimes a second try works, but sometimes it just complains again and again,
inhibiting shutdown.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1.
2. try to shutdown

OBSERVED RESULT
shutdown cancelled with message

EXPECTED RESULT
shutdown works without Krusader interfering

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
KDE Plasma Version: 5.15.5
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.60.0
Qt Version: 5.12.3
krusader 2.7.1

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
See Bug 411346 for why this is considered a problem of Krusader

includes the commit to the shape manager:

   Product: plasma-pa
   Version: 5.16.4
  Platform: Neon Packages
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal

 Component: general
  Assignee: now...@gmail.com
  Reporter: ruben.carbonba...@gmail.com

SUMMARY
By clicking on sound, and "additional options for speakers", the headphone jack
appears when I plug it in, but the HDMI output does not. This happens for all
HDMI devices I have tried (T.V.s monitors etc).

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Plug in HDMI cable
2. Click Sound Icon
3. Click "Show Additional Options" menu
4. Plug and unplug various peripherals (headset, HDMI etc)

OBSERVED RESULT
No changes occur when HDMI plugs are in place. I have to use the Advanced menu
to play HDMI as an output

EXPECTED RESULT
I should be able to switch to HDMI. Other people have been able to do this.

Hi,
This is the second Freeze I have with Krita 4.2 branch compiled of today:

- It happens while dragging/navigating the canvas with middle-mouse click
- Krita freeze and the cursor keeps frozen on the shape of the "hand closed"

[plasmashell] [Bug 411364] New: Text loses its opacity when fast switching applications categories

2019-08-27 Thread Andrey Kozlovskiy
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=411364

Bug ID: 411364
Summary: Text loses its opacity when fast switching
applications categories
   Product: plasmashell
   Version: 5.16.4
  Platform: Neon Packages
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Application Launcher (Kickoff)
  Assignee: k...@davidedmundson.co.uk
  Reporter: andronon...@gmail.com
CC: plasma-b...@kde.org
  Target Milestone: 1.0

Created attachment 122390
  --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=122390=edit
Text becomes transparent when fast switching

SUMMARY

If you quickly enter and leave application categories, the text loses its
opacity. It doesn't happen when switching between views, only in application
view itself. The only way to 'fix' that is to remove menu widget and add it
again (or switch alternatives two times).

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open Applications tab in Kickoff menu
2. Fast enter-leave some applications categories
3. Notice that text becomes more and more transparent every time you do it

[kdeconnect] [Bug 410774] Cannot reply on second SMS

2019-08-27 Thread Piotr Mierzwinski
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=410774

Today it happened again. I wasn't able to reply on received SMS.
I turned on screen and unlocked device. It immediately connected with my PC.
And in result were appeared couple popup notifications (including SMS).
Unfortunatel I didn't make click on "reply" button on time and they have been
moved into "Notification".
BTW. I found that is possible to change time after what popup will be hide, but
seems this is global time - for popups coming from all application. I need to
have time to click "reply" for SMS, but don't need look too long on some other
notifications.

And back to Notifications itself. I click into it and again I don't have
"reply" button. After I clicked into KDEConnect icon and here was also missing
"reply" button. I'm not sure if my phone went into "doze mode" or not only for
sure screen was turned one and device blocked. Time between I clicked into
Notification was short, more or less 1 minute.

Is it possible to activate/add "reply" button in SMS messages placed in
Notification?
In this moment I can only read it and to reply I need to use my smartphone.

The menu entry "Item / Open with default application" and the associated
shortcut (changed to Ctrl-F4?) now work.

The list of applications under "Open with..." is still empty.(In reply to

[KScreen] [Bug 411361] New: Plasma/Wayland doesn't recognize external display on reconnected USB-C dock

2019-08-27 Thread Greg Varsanyi
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=411361

Bug ID: 411361
Summary: Plasma/Wayland doesn't recognize external display on
reconnected USB-C dock
   Product: KScreen
   Version: git
  Platform: Neon Packages
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: libkscreen
  Assignee: se...@kde.org
  Reporter: gvarsa...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
Plasma/Wayland doesn't recognize external display on reconnected USB-C dock.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Use a type-c USB w/ alt mode laptop and a dock (like Dell WD15)
2. Log in to Plasma Wayland from SDDM with the dock connected, see external
screen work right
3. Disconnect the dock, reconnect some time later

OBSERVED RESULT
External screen doesn't activate (but everything else does, e.g. sound, USB
devices, ethernet work well on reconnect)

EXPECTED RESULT
Screen should be identified and turned on

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Operating System: KDE neon Unstable Edition
KDE Plasma Version: 5.16.80
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.62.0
Qt Version: 5.12.3
Kernel Version: 5.2.0-050200rc7-generic
OS Type: 64-bit
Processors: 12 × Intel® Core™ i7-8750H CPU @ 2.20GHz
Memory: 15.4 GiB of RAM

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
- This works on both Plasma/X11 and Gnome/Wayland.
- As far as I can tell, docks generally use DP MST to connect multiple
displays, even HDMI connection is served via DP MST. So this might be an
MST-specific issue (reconnecting works with direct HDMI on the laptop)
- Tested with Intel gfx
- I see the port appear on /sys/class/drm/card0-DP-6
$ cat /sys/class/drm/card0-DP-2/status
connected
$ cat /sys/class/drm/card0-DP-2/enabled
disabled
It seems that the display never gets enabled, even though it's found.

While searching for a bug report on this, I only found a forum entry - same
story, but with HP laptop + dock:

Git commit 0bf5522434044c61d266fc47bc127fef23d41e7b by Christoph Cullmann, on
behalf of Ahmad Samir.
Committed on 27/08/2019 at 17:03.
Pushed by cullmann into branch 'master'.

Mimic QInputControl::isAcceptableInput() when filtering typed characters

Summary:
Move all input characters filtering out of typeChars() to KateViewInternal
and filter the input before sending it to typeChars().

This increases the scope of unicode characters that users can type in
ktexteditor.
For more info see:
QChar documentation
http://www.unicode.org/Public/UNIDATA/UnicodeData.txt

This should fix:
- bug 396764 (typing soft-hyphens)
- bug 366424 (typing "private use" unicode characters)
- Hopefully bug 389796 (typing formatting characters such as ZWNJ)
Related: bug 396764, bug 366424

Test Plan:
Test typing a soft-hyphen char (here I used Compose key + minus + minus +
space)
For the two other bugs, ask the users to test...

All unit tests passed

[plasma-nm] [Bug 411359] New: [RFE] Ask for firewall zone upon first connection

2019-08-27 Thread Iñaki Ucar
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=411359

Bug ID: 411359
Summary: [RFE] Ask for firewall zone upon first connection
   Product: plasma-nm
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: applet
  Assignee: jgrul...@redhat.com
  Reporter: iu...@fedoraproject.org
  Target Milestone: ---

NetworkManager has support for FirewallD zones, so it would be great if the
applet could

1) ask the user whether it's a private (and thus the user may want to share
resources) or public network (and thus the user may prefer to stay safe) when a
new connection is set up, then

  a) if the user says "private", then configure the connection in the "trusted"
zone (could be configurable);

  b) if the user says "public" or just ignores the question and closes the
applet, then configure the connection in the "public" zone (or the default
zone, could be configurable);

2) show the info about the current zone in the connection details.

Note that 1) is something that Windows 10 already does very well. Of course,
more advanced users could always open the connection editor and change the
zone, or even configure FirewallD directly, but this could be a **huge**
improvement for most users.

Why? Consider Fedora's KDE and GNOME spins. The KDE spin decided to set the
default firewall zone to "public", whereas the GNOME spin (Fedora Workstation)
decided to set a default that leaves open all the ports beyond 1024. KDE folks'
decision is great for security, but it fails miserably from the UX perspective
as soon as a non-experienced user tries e.g. to share some files over the
network at home: it doesn't work, and they don't know what to do. On the other
hand, GNOME folks' decision is great from the UX point of oview, but has
critical security implications (I don't think the user wants to share files in
a café's WiFi or at the airport).

So, all in all, I think that asking *once* whether a new connection should be
private or not and saving the proper firewall zone is the best trade-off
between security and UX.

TBH, no. But I have done the following things:
- Start plasma without the proprietary driver => using nouveau
- Manually play around with the display scale to force my 4k monitor to 100%
- Move around a second display when it is attached.

But otherwise, I honestly can't remember.

[17:44:05] qt.scenegraph.general: QSG: basic render loop

Aha, I hoped it would be this. I can see the bug there.

No idea how you have an nvidia card and the non threaded render loop. Do you
remember explicitly changing it?

If you open "kcmshell5 qtquicksettings" and select the threaded render loop
things should work again.

Zanshin uses pim libraries which change API and ABI quite a bit but it is not
released in tandem with them. The current release doesn't even compile with
current kdepim libraries
https://build.neon.kde.org/job/bionic_release-lts_extras_zanshin_bin_amd64/5/console

However the unstable git build does build fine.

Can we have a new release of Zanshin?

Thanks, so I'm closing this as "resolved upstream" now.

KDE Neon users should be able to fix the issue by e.g. running pkcon update.
For users on other distros, try to get Qt >= 5.12.4.

[digikam] [Bug 411214] Digikam git beta 6.3 eats huge memory

2019-08-27 Thread maderios
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=411214

I just rebuilt Digikam from git master commit 58c0b5f4 'sh => bash
Gilles Caulier authored 6 hours ago'
I got some errors and freeze after launching when Digikam try to search for
new items. Digikam freezes desktop and partially computer. I see with htop in
tty that Digikam eats about 3.5 Go resident memory during searching process,
then, it returns to about 160 Mo memory.
This issue doesn't happen at all with Digikam 6.3 beta Appimage. This one works
fine.
Problem still comes from 4 xcf files, about 80 Mo each.
See below, for same files, differences behaviour between git version and

[kate] [Bug 411110] No option to copy results from "Find In Files" pane

2019-08-27 Thread bugzilla_noreply
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=40

Hello, Dominik.
Yes, I mean just a newline separated list in the clipboard in plain text with
the file name in the plain text, too. Line number has to be copied as well.
Ideally, it could be great to have two options: copy with line numbers and copy
without line numbers by keeping line indentation, like the regular grep output.
Copying could be implemented either via pressing Ctrl+C or via selecting in
right-click menu. I believe right-click menu might be simpler to implement.
We can have the following items in the right-click menu: copy (means copying of
the currently pointed line), copy all, and copy without line numbers.

 Thanks,
  Yury

[kwin] [Bug 411356] New: "Switch to Windows to the Right" with multiple screens goes to back window

2019-08-27 Thread cdancette
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=411356

Bug ID: 411356
Summary: "Switch to Windows to the Right" with multiple screens
goes to back window
   Product: kwin
   Version: 5.14.5
  Platform: Debian stable
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: kwin-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: corentin.dance...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY

I am using "Switch to Windows to the Right" and "Switch to Windows to the Left"
shortcuts to navigate between opened windows.

Also, I am using two screens.

When I have a few full screen windows open on each screen, sometimes I want to
switch focus between my windows on the right screen to the windows on the left
screen. So I use the shortcut "Switch to Windows to the Right", but it will
switch to a window on the right desktop that is on the back, not the front
window like I expect.

Any idea how to fix this ?

STEPS TO REPRODUCE

1. Have two screens. On left screen, open one window. On right screen, open two
maxized window (we'll call them front and back window).
2. Focus on the window on the left screen. Then use the shortcut to "Switch to
Windows to the Right".
3.

OBSERVED RESULT
The focus goes to the window that is was the back of the right screen (the back
windows comes to front)

EXPECTED RESULT
The focus goes to the window that is already on the front of the right screen

As to how to reproduce it, it is important that when the window scales on
close, it scales to more than 1x (I have 1.2), then it happens basically every
time. There are almost always artifacts. Sometimes they flicker in reaction to
mouse movement, sometimes they stand still.
About the composition, sometimes a whole portion of window remains there (like
the upper bar, with the buttons to minimize, maximize, ... sometimes ii's just
the shadow of the window that remains there.
