[okular] [Bug 411374] New: search on continuous view often mispositions search for non-last column
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=411374 Bug ID: 411374 Summary: search on continuous view often mispositions search for non-last column Product: okular Version: unspecified Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: okular-de...@kde.org Reporter: gilbertd+...@treblig.org Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY WHen you search for something the page the result is in is scrolled partially to make sure the result is visible; however when you've got multiple pages visible across this often results in you being able to see the bottom of the page with the result text but the start of the next page is off the top. I find this quite frustrating on huge documents/ STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Select continuous with facing pages or overview (for the example I used facing) 2. Search for something near the bottom of a page that will appear in the left column (e.g. in my example start at the bottom of the document and then search for 'bottom of page 1') OBSERVED RESULT 'bottom of page1' is visible part way up the screen, but the top of page 2 isn't visible because it's scrolled off the top EXPECTED RESULT I want to be able to carry on reading from the search point; so I think the rule is: a) If the window height allows a full page or more vertically and b) The search result is not in the page in the last column then scroll so that the top of the page with the search result is visible (actually we're interested in the top of the next page but that's getting complex) SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Linux/KDE Plasma: Linux Fedora 30 under xfce, okular head (available in About System) KDE Plasma Version: KDE Frameworks Version: 5.59.0 Qt Version: 5.12.4 (xcb windowing) ADDITIONAL INFORMATION -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

I was first very pleasantly surprize-d - for a while. Now it's the calendar that's acting up. I have 4 calendars in my Nextcloud instance. They all work fine in Thunderbird, Nextcloud web-client and to a certain degree in SailfishOS. Two times within a week, the calendar, where I keep the events (the others are for Tasks, Journal and Contact Birthdays) doesn't show any events in Month view. First time I Shut down akonadi, removed every trace of the Nextcloud Akonadi agent, and recreated it. It worked fine for a day or two, but now the events are not showing up in korganizer. Again, it shows perfectly fine in other clients, and I can see the events in akonadiconsole. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Configure a Nextcloud agent. 2. Wait OBSERVED RESULT The calendar disappears after some time. EXPECTED RESULT I should be able to use the calendar. https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=411364 Bug ID: 411364 Summary: Text loses its opacity when fast switching applications categories Product: plasmashell Version: 5.16.4 Platform: Neon Packages OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: Application Launcher (Kickoff) Assignee: k...@davidedmundson.co.uk Reporter: andronon...@gmail.com CC: plasma-b...@kde.org Target Milestone: 1.0 Created attachment 122390 --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=122390=edit Text becomes transparent when fast switching SUMMARY If you quickly enter and leave application categories, the text loses its opacity. It doesn't happen when switching between views, only in application view itself. The only way to 'fix' that is to remove menu widget and add it again (or switch alternatives two times). [kdeconnect] [Bug 410774] Cannot reply on second SMS
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=410774 --- Comment #3 from Piotr Mierzwinski --- Today it happened again. I wasn't able to reply on received SMS. I turned on screen and unlocked device. It immediately connected with my PC. And in result were appeared couple popup notifications (including SMS). Unfortunatel I didn't make click on "reply" button on time and they have been moved into "Notification". BTW. I found that is possible to change time after what popup will be hide, but seems this is global time - for popups coming from all application. I need to have time to click "reply" for SMS, but don't need look too long on some other notifications. And back to Notifications itself. I click into it and again I don't have "reply" button. After I clicked into KDEConnect icon and here was also missing "reply" button. I'm not sure if my phone went into "doze mode" or not only for sure screen was turned one and device blocked. Time between I clicked into Notification was short, more or less 1 minute. Is it possible to activate/add "reply" button in SMS messages placed in Notification? In this moment I can only read it and to reply I need to use my smartphone. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[plasma-nm] [Bug 411359] New: [RFE] Ask for firewall zone upon first connection
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=411359 Bug ID: 411359 Summary: [RFE] Ask for firewall zone upon first connection Product: plasma-nm Version: unspecified Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: applet Assignee: jgrul...@redhat.com Reporter: iu...@fedoraproject.org Target Milestone: --- NetworkManager has support for FirewallD zones, so it would be great if the applet could 1) ask the user whether it's a private (and thus the user may want to share resources) or public network (and thus the user may prefer to stay safe) when a new connection is set up, then a) if the user says "private", then configure the connection in the "trusted" zone (could be configurable); b) if the user says "public" or just ignores the question and closes the applet, then configure the connection in the "public" zone (or the default zone, could be configurable); 2) show the info about the current zone in the connection details. Note that 1) is something that Windows 10 already does very well. Of course, more advanced users could always open the connection editor and change the zone, or even configure FirewallD directly, but this could be a **huge** improvement for most users. Why? Consider Fedora's KDE and GNOME spins. The KDE spin decided to set the default firewall zone to "public", whereas the GNOME spin (Fedora Workstation) decided to set a default that leaves open all the ports beyond 1024. KDE folks' decision is great for security, but it fails miserably from the UX perspective as soon as a non-experienced user tries e.g. to share some files over the network at home: it doesn't work, and they don't know what to do. On the other hand, GNOME folks' decision is great from the UX point of oview, but has critical security implications (I don't think the user wants to share files in a café's WiFi or at the airport). So, all in all, I think that asking *once* whether a new connection should be private or not and saving the proper firewall zone is the best trade-off between security and UX. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[kate] [Bug 411110] No option to copy results from "Find In Files" pane
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=40 --- Comment #2 from yury.dubin...@gmail.com --- Hello, Dominik. Yes, I mean just a newline separated list in the clipboard in plain text with the file name in the plain text, too. Line number has to be copied as well. Ideally, it could be great to have two options: copy with line numbers and copy without line numbers by keeping line indentation, like the regular grep output. Copying could be implemented either via pressing Ctrl+C or via selecting in right-click menu. I believe right-click menu might be simpler to implement. We can have the following items in the right-click menu: copy (means copying of the currently pointed line), copy all, and copy without line numbers.
