[kde] [Bug 415162] New: Title bars move off-screen after closing full-screen app

2019-12-13 Thread David
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=415162

Bug ID: 415162
Summary: Title bars move off-screen after closing full-screen
app
   Product: kde
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Debian testing
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: unassigned-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: david.cortes.riv...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

After launching some full-screen game, all windows in my desktop are
repositioned such that the window title bars (which have the title and -+x
buttons) lie outside of the visible area - that is, they are moved to e.g. the
top of the screen, up to the position in which the title bar gets cut off, and
will show up again when dragged a bit down.

Steps to reproduce:
- Launch several applications with non-maximized windows, position them around
the desktop.
- Launch some full-screen application with the same resolution as the desktop
(e.g. FreeDoom).
- Close said application.

Expected behavior: application windows should remain where they were.

Actual behavior: application windows move a bit off the screen, right at the
position in which the title bar is not visible anymore.

2019-12-13 Thread Tom Hughes
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=415159

Well yes they will all spin off children because rustc is a separate program to
cargo - it's like tracing make and it not following over the exec when it runs
gcc to do the actual compile.

Note that --trace-children is slightly misnamed because it doesn't control
tracing over fork (fork is always followed) but rather it controls whether an
exec of a new executable is followed.

I think that just might have fixed it. I just completed the 10th (!) successful

Since testing is quite time consuming (~2h per run) and the crash isn't
entirely reliably reproducible, its difficult to be entirely certain. But I
think it is fixed.

I tried running `cargo build`, `cargo rustc`, and `rustc`, but I think they
must all spin off children because `--trace-children=yes` seems to work!

Perhaps valgrind could detect children and add a warning pointing users to this
flag? Otherwise it can be quite confusing why there's no output whatsoever. In
fact I guess I'm still confused why DHAT didn't produce any output for the
parent process (cargo).

SUMMARY

There's a really interesting library libratbag [1] to configure modern gaming
mices. It would be very convenient if Plasma could support it and expose a
graphical KCM like "piper" [2] does as a standalone application.

[1] https://github.com/libratbag/libratbag

"libratbag provides ratbagd, a DBus daemon to configure gaming mice. The daemon
provides a generic way to access the various features exposed by these mice and
abstracts away hardware-specific and kernel-specific quirks.

libratbag currently supports devices from Logitech, Etekcity, GSkill, Roccat,
Steelseries. See the device files for a complete list of supported devices.

Users interact through a GUI like Piper."

[2] https://github.com/libratbag/piper/

"Piper is a GTK+ application to configure gaming mice. Piper is merely a
graphical frontend to the ratbagd DBus daemon"

[kwin] [Bug 415155] New: Closing window from Present Windows effect sometimes causes the new frontmost window to lose focus and be unable to regain it

2019-12-13 Thread Nate Graham
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=415155

Bug ID: 415155
Summary: Closing window from Present Windows effect sometimes
causes the new frontmost window to lose focus and be
unable to regain it
   Product: kwin
   Version: git master
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: effects-present-windows
  Assignee: kwin-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: n...@kde.org
  Target Milestone: ---

KWin and everything else KDE-related from git master.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open two windows
2. Engage Present Windows
3. Click on the close button for a window

OBSERVED RESULT
The effect ends and whatever window comes to the front does not have focus and
cannot be given focus. Clicking on the titlebar does not give it focus. You can
click and drag on the titlebar to move it around. The Task Switcher does not
appear on Alt+Tab. Various other odd window-focus related oddities occur.
Restarting KWin fixes everything.

EXPECTED RESULT
None of that weird stuff happens

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
This is quite reproducible for me, though not to the level of 100%. I have not
been able to nail down why it only sometimes happens when I perform the
above-mentioned steps to reproduce.

I just wanted to add that I have now done some further investigation with no
luck :(.

In /home/$HOME/.var/app/org.kde.konversation/config/ (where konversationrc is)
I added (individual tests):
* a blank ksslcertificatemanager via touch from inside the flatpak with
nobody:nobody
* a blank ksslcertificatemanager chown'd to $USER:GROUP chown'd inside the
flatpak
* a "correct" ksslcertificatemanager from another machine
* symlink $HOME/.config/ksslcertificatemanager -> to correct
/home/$HOME/.var/app/org.kde.konversation/config/ksslcertificatemanager
* a "correct" ksslcertificatemanager from another machine in
$HOME/.config/ksslcertificatemanager

I also confirmed (ls -lZ) that the selinux perms appeared correct as well.

none of ^^ makes a difference. I am not sure why as it "should work"

Unreadable output because of interval print

I have the same problem, additionally for some calculations the result is
completely unreadable because of the interval representation, as seen in the
attached screenshot.
I would suggest to only print the significant digits, an alternative would be,
to print the midpoint of the interval.

As libqalculate already has options for other representations [1, 2], the
change would only be to set another representation in the print options of the
qalculate module of krunner. I successfully tried the relevant change on my
system with printing only the significant digits and can make a patch for it.

Created attachment 124478
  --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=124478=edit
Screenshot: The taskbar above Konquerer got lost while taking the screenshot.

SUMMARY

Sometimes the taskbar vanishes when I start taking a screenshot with the
"rectangular area" mode by pressing the print key.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Set rectangular mode by default (not sure if this is necessary).
2. Take a screenshot by pressing print.

OBSERVED RESULT

If you are (un)lucky in rare cases the taskbar has vanished until the region is
chosen and the enter key is pressed to finally take the screenshot, like in the
attachment.

[dolphin] [Bug 415151] New: Add A Plugin To Mount OneDrive

2019-12-13 Thread bugzilla_noreply
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=415151

Bug ID: 415151
Summary: Add A Plugin To Mount OneDrive
   Product: dolphin
   Version: 19.08.3
  Platform: Neon Packages
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: wishlist
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: dolphin-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: opticyc...@gmail.com
CC: kfm-de...@kde.org
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
Dolphin should have a wizard to set up OneDrive.
Once it is configured there should be a menu item or a places shortcut for you
to easily browse the files in OneDrive (without synchronizing a copy of the
whole OneDrive to disk).

DETAILS
Polo File Manager https://github.com/teejee2008/polo had an option to mount
OneDrive and access it in a tab like a normal directory.

It used rclone in the background to mount OneDrive.

I'd like to see something similar integrated with KDE/Dolphin that doesn't
require me to know much about rclone.
e.g. Dolphin runs rclone for me and has a tick box option to mount OneDrive on
boot if I want (/etc/fstab?)

[valgrind] [Bug 398545] Support for SHA instruction on Ryzen

> How to add vex support for it? Sounds trivial.

I started with that at https://github.com/rurban/valgrind
linux names it sha_ni, freebsd SHA1,SHA2,
on Windows it's Family 3, cpu Model >= 92 on Intel and cpu Model >= 23 on amd.

But for adding the necessary logic stubs my 30 min self-intro into the code is
certainly not enough. There shouldn't be much logic needed I think. Similar to
the aesdec and crc insn, which do exist already.
I haven't even found the location where hwcaps are set.

You can install "Python 2.7 x86-64 MSI installer" from

and then uncomment the line that says:-

[konsole] [Bug 415147] New: Turning on blur background in konsole under wayland displays the blurred content next to the actual window

2019-12-13 Thread bugzilla_noreply

Bug ID: 415147
Summary: Turning on blur background in konsole under wayland
displays the blurred content next to the actual window
   Product: konsole
   Version: master
  Platform: Neon Packages
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal

 Component: general
  Assignee: konsole-de...@kde.org

  Target Milestone: ---

Created attachment 124476
  --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=124476=edit
Image of the bug

SUMMARY
Turning on blur background in konsole under wayland displays the blurred
content next to the actual window

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Start plasma under wayland
2. Edit konsole's current profile to enable background blur and set some
translucency

OBSERVED RESULT
A new rectangular region appears next to the window with minor overlap with the
original, blurring the content underneath it. By moving the window around, the
blur region moves by a different amount, so it is likely to be due to some
offset error. Maximizing the window results in the desired effect.

EXPECTED RESULT
Blurring should happen 'under' the actual window

[Falkon] [Bug 415084] Web pages are scaled incorrectly when using High DPI mode

2019-12-13 Thread Elmar Stellnberger
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=415084

--- Comment #4 from Elmar Stellnberger (AT/K) ---
I would like an option to set the web content default scale factor
independent of the UI scale factor which can be set via QT_SCALE_FACTOR or via
systemsettings5. It may depend on the user what he finds to be comfortable.

Hi, which file is used is decided by the version of it (for files of the same
name).

If you increment the file version in the xml, does it work?

(this is done that way to allow e.g. local files of the user to be overruled if
KTextEditor ships updates with higher versions)

These new SHA extensions are supported on amd since epyc, on intel since
Goldmont (2017), and on recent arm's and power8.

https://software.intel.com/en-us/articles/intel-sha-extensions

How to add vex support for it? Sounds trivial.
binutils/objdump can do it for a long time.
