[plasmashell] [Bug 423527] New: on logout, exit dialogs from multiple windows only display correctly when they're all on the current virtual desktop
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=423527 Bug ID: 423527 Summary: on logout, exit dialogs from multiple windows only display correctly when they're all on the current virtual desktop Product: plasmashell Version: 5.18.5 Platform: Gentoo Packages OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: Notifications Assignee: k...@privat.broulik.de Reporter: glyphi...@gmail.com CC: plasma-b...@kde.org Target Milestone: 1.0 SUMMARY When the user tries to log out, if a window raises an exit dialog (e.g. save/discard changes), the user hears a sound and the window raises. This works when there are multiple such dialogs on the current virtual desktop, OR only 1 dialog on a different virtual desktop. However, various issues crop up when there are multiple dialogs and at least 1 is on another desktop. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. On the current virtual desktop, load program window A 2. Configure A so that it will raise a dialog on exit (e.g. KWrite w/ unsaved changes) 3. On a different virtual desktop, load program window B 4. Configure B so that it will raise a dialog on exit 5. Initiate logout OBSERVED RESULT All panels, etc. vanish. After ~1 second, a sound plays and a confirmation dialog raises for A. Close the dialog. No 2nd sound plays. After ~10 more seconds, the other virtual desktop appears; the confirmation dialog for B appears to be raised, but not focused. After ~1 more second, logout completes. EXPECTED RESULT In sequence, for each confirmation dialog: a sound plays, the virtual desktop changes (if necessary), and the window/dialog is raised/focused. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Linux/KDE Plasma: (available in About System) KDE Plasma Version: 5.70.1 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.70.0 Qt Version: 5.14.2 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION The exact behavior differs somewhat based on how the dialog-raising windows are distributed across virtual desktops, but the rule appears to be that everything works fine for multiple dialogs on the current virtual desktop. As above, if in addition there's 1 dialog on another virtual desktop, it doesn't get a sound and doesn't appear until just before logout. If there are no dialogs on the current virtual desktop, but multiple dialogs on a different desktop, a sound plays, but the view stays on the current virtual desktop. 10 seconds later, the view changes to the other virtual desktop, the dialogs are visible but possibly not focused, then logout finishes a second later. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[kdeconnect] [Bug 419617] kdeconnect: Truncated data in UDP packet
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=419617 Nicolas Fella changed: What|Removed |Added CC||nicolas.fe...@gmx.de --- Comment #3 from Nicolas Fella --- I think I somewhat understand what is going on. The UDP packet is too large to fit within the maximum transfer unit (MTU), usually 1500 bytes, or 1472 usable bytes. Therefore the "bad length 1631 > 1472" warning. While it seems possible to get around that via packet fragmentation this is apparently handled differently by devices. This could explain quite some "devices can't see each other" reports. I'm not quite sure how to address this. An obvious approach is to reduce the size of the identity packets, but that would be an incompatible change and would require careful rollout -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

Krita works ok while AE is open, it just has to be opened BEFORE I open up After Effects or else it won’t even attempt to load... It’s very weird, it shows no error at all and doesnt impact any RAM or anything, it’s just like the button to open it doesn’t do anything while AE is open... It’s slightly annoying because I’m working on a project with both of them and if I want to hop into Krita to make something I need to close AE, open Krita and then reopen AE... then everything is fine... [plasmashell] [Bug 354802] Desktop Icon position gets scrambled sometimes on reboot.
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=354802 --- Comment #115 from jack --- ok. weird thing with those changes is that after the bug happens your "plasma-org.kde.plasma.desktop-appletsrc" is missing the config for icon-positions. (a line that starts with "positions=". This was never the case for me. regarding logs i dont think any devs are interested in this 5year old bug ticket and it doesnt seem to affect any of them so they can not reproduce. you can try this since there is alot of stuff in those 2 lines for you, run: kquitapp5 plasmashell then edit 2 lines in your "plasma-org.kde.plasma.desktop-appletsrc" [ScreenMapping] itemsOnDisabledScreens= screenMapping= so there is nothing anymore after the "=". dont worry they will automatically refill with the current settings aslong as you dont change anything else. then run kstart5 plasmashell when starting plasmashell like this you get some output but i doubt it helps anyone with identifying the problem. another thing to try is the icon-cache delete.- apperently someone fixed it that way. But moving around folders and thinking it has an effect on this bug only confuses others - i very much doubt it changes anything and this bug just does not happen everytime/consistently -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

Krita version is Krita Plus and version is 4.3.0-beta2(4.3.1-alpha git 5e750f3) STEPS TO REPRODUCE Unsure but I believe steps are as follow : 1. Have a big brush(200 pixels or more) 2. [trojita] [Bug 423453] Trojita might not validate TLS certificates in SMTP.
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=423453 Jan Kundrát changed: What|Removed |Added Status|REPORTED|RESOLVED Resolution|--- |FIXED Latest Commit||https://invent.kde.org/pim/ ||trojita/commit/77ddd5d44f2b ||f4155d0c9b6f7d05f01713b32d5 ||d --- Comment #4 from Jan Kundrát --- Git commit 77ddd5d44f2bf4155d0c9b6f7d05f01713b32d5d by Jan Kundrát. Committed on 25/06/2020 at 10:56. Pushed by jkt into branch 'master'. SMTP: Do not ignore TLS errors This fixes a CVE-2020-15047 (category: CWE-295). Since commit 0083eea5ed which added initial, experimental support for SMTP message submission, we have apparently never implemented proper SSL/TLS error handling, and the code has ever since just kept silently ignoring any certificate verification errors. As a result, Trojita was susceptible to a MITM attack when sending e-mails. The information leaked include user's authentication details, including the password, and the content of sent messages. Sorry for this :(. Now, this patch re-enabes proper TLS error handling. It was not possible to directly re-use our code for TLS key pinning which we are using for IMAP connections. In the Qt TLS code, the decision to accept or not accept a TLS connection is a blocking one, so the IMAP code relies upon the protocol state machine (i.e., another layer) for deciding whether to use or not to use the just-established TLS connection. Implementing an equivalent code in the SMTP library would be nice, but this hot-fix has a priority. As a result, SMTP connections to hosts with, e.g., self-signed TLS certs, are no longer possible. Let's hope that this is not a practical problem with Lets Encrypt anymore. Thanks to Damian Poddebniak for reporting this bug. [plasmashell] [Bug 354802] Desktop Icon position gets scrambled sometimes on reboot.
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=354802 --- Comment #113 from toon.peperm...@hotmail.com --- To get the bug back I put my symlinked folders back on my desktop and after some tries I indeed got a wallpaper+icons reset. I tried 'plasmashell --replace', this didn't make any difference to wallpaper or icons. So I've made a zip file with three folders: each with plasma-org.kde.plasma.desktop-appletsrc, plasmashellrc and plasmarc, plus screenshot in the two first. 'Before' is before the bug happens, 'after' is after the bug, and 'after2' is after I did 'plasmashell --replace'. In plasma-org.kde.plasma.desktop-appletsrc there are many differences, only one difference in plasmashellrc (don't know if significant), and no difference in plasmarc. Somehow something goes wrong of course, but does plasmashell really have no log file? How do developers know what goes wrong if something like this happens to them? -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

However I rarely go the the locales section after 1st configuration. > and I don't know if > it's relevant on debian, but have you edited /etc/locale.gen and then run > locale-gen? It's relevant on debian. And yes I did it : I don't want to be encumbered with GB of locales I will never use :) Relaunched locale-gen just in case (should be automatically relaunched after each upgrade btw) but it doesn't change anything. > Is there any language choice made at installation time you > might have missed?
