[partitionmanager] [Bug 423528] New: KDE Partition Manager crashed while resizing and moving a partition

2020-06-25 Thread Christopher Cormier
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=423528

Bug ID: 423528
Summary: KDE Partition Manager crashed while resizing and
moving a partition
   Product: partitionmanager
   Version: 4.1.0
  Platform: Debian stable
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Keywords: drkonqi
  Severity: crash
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: andr...@stikonas.eu
  Reporter: khrom...@protonmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

Application: partitionmanager (4.1.0)

Qt Version: 5.14.2
Frameworks Version: 5.70.0
Operating System: Linux 5.7.0-1-amd64 x86_64
Distribution: Debian GNU/Linux bullseye/sid

-- Information about the crash:
- What I was doing when the application crashed:
I was shrinking an EXT4 partition and also moving it to the right of its disk.
The operation was going fine for a while but at one point, I clicked on it to
check on its progress. It crashed a few seconds after I had minimized it again.
I'm not sure if minimizing it was related to it crashing or if it was just a
coincidence.

[plasmashell] [Bug 423527] New: on logout, exit dialogs from multiple windows only display correctly when they're all on the current virtual desktop

2020-06-25 Thread bugzilla_noreply
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=423527

Bug ID: 423527
Summary: on logout, exit dialogs from multiple windows only
display correctly when they're all on the current
virtual desktop
   Product: plasmashell
   Version: 5.18.5
  Platform: Gentoo Packages
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Notifications
  Assignee: k...@privat.broulik.de
  Reporter: glyphi...@gmail.com
CC: plasma-b...@kde.org
  Target Milestone: 1.0

SUMMARY

When the user tries to log out, if a window raises an exit dialog (e.g.
save/discard changes), the user hears a sound and the window raises. This works
when there are multiple such dialogs on the current virtual desktop, OR only 1
dialog on a different virtual desktop. However, various issues crop up when
there are multiple dialogs and at least 1 is on another desktop.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. On the current virtual desktop, load program window A
2. Configure A so that it will raise a dialog on exit (e.g. KWrite w/ unsaved
changes)
3. On a different virtual desktop, load program window B
4. Configure B so that it will raise a dialog on exit
5. Initiate logout

OBSERVED RESULT

All panels, etc. vanish. After ~1 second, a sound plays and a confirmation
dialog raises for A. Close the dialog. No 2nd sound plays. After ~10 more
seconds, the other virtual desktop appears; the confirmation dialog for B
appears to be raised, but not focused. After ~1 more second, logout completes.

EXPECTED RESULT

In sequence, for each confirmation dialog: a sound plays, the virtual desktop
changes (if necessary), and the window/dialog is raised/focused.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS

Linux/KDE Plasma:
(available in About System)
KDE Plasma Version: 5.70.1
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.70.0
Qt Version: 5.14.2

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

The exact behavior differs somewhat based on how the dialog-raising windows are
distributed across virtual desktops, but the rule appears to be that everything
works fine for multiple dialogs on the current virtual desktop. As above, if in
addition there's 1 dialog on another virtual desktop, it doesn't get a sound
and doesn't appear until just before logout.

If there are no dialogs on the current virtual desktop, but multiple dialogs on
a different desktop, a sound plays, but the view stays on the current virtual
desktop. 10 seconds later, the view changes to the other virtual desktop, the
dialogs are visible but possibly not focused, then logout finishes a second
later.

Solved it by going to the plugin settings and defining again the destination
folder in the Android device. Now I can send files to my device again.

Steps:
Open KDE Connect
Go to plugin settings
Select "Share and Receive"
Select "Destination Directory"
Select the folder you want the files to be saved.

I can also reproduce this reliably, although DrKonqi does not catch it. In
order to reproduce, I simply activate the Present Windows hot corner after it
has already been activated. after 1-3 attempts, this reliably produces a KWin
segfault.

Can reproduce. When using Breeze Dark, Plasma dialogs/popups/etc. are
transparent, but the panel is not.

Niccolò, is this something you're aware of?

[plasmashell] [Bug 423526] New: "Switch user" functionality has disappeared from Kicker and Kickoff

2020-06-25 Thread Nate Graham
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=423526

Bug ID: 423526
Summary: "Switch user" functionality has disappeared from
Kicker and Kickoff
   Product: plasmashell
   Version: master
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Application Launcher (Kickoff)
  Assignee: k...@davidedmundson.co.uk
  Reporter: n...@kde.org
CC: plasma-b...@kde.org
  Target Milestone: 1.0

Everything KDE built from source this morning with Qt 5.15.0 on top of openSUSE
Tumbleweed.

Kickoff and Kicker are no longer displaying the "Switch User" functionality.
However if I search for "Switch user" in KRunner, it displays an item called
"New Session" which works as expected. It's just Kickoff and Kicker that don't
have the functionality visible anymore.

Not reproducible with Plasma 5.19, just my built-from-source git master stuff.

i think there is plenty people here that are willing to help or provide any
logs etc... it is simply no dev/capable person requesting anything and
therefore we are left to try stuff and share...
My point was only to not post out-of-the-blue assumtions about wallpaper colors
or folder names etc..

<100 reboots without this error can still be a coincidence (in my expirence)

so trying all the stuff and saying it helped is pretty hard - only logical
thinking tells me some stuff is not worth trying (wallpaper colors/ folder
names etc) but hey go ahead when you have the time - i posted what i did
already and im a month in with no occurrence - but good luck with finding
someone that can fix your specific issue.

[kdeconnect] [Bug 419617] kdeconnect: Truncated data in UDP packet

Nicolas Fella changed:

   What|Removed |Added

 CC||nicolas.fe...@gmx.de

I think I somewhat understand what is going on.

The UDP packet is too large to fit within the maximum transfer unit (MTU),
usually 1500 bytes, or 1472 usable bytes. Therefore the "bad length 1631 >
1472" warning.

While it seems possible to get around that via packet fragmentation this is
apparently handled differently by devices. This could explain quite some
"devices can't see each other" reports.

I'm not quite sure how to address this. An obvious approach is to reduce the
size of the identity packets, but that would be an incompatible change and
would require careful rollout

I will note that the notification timeout throbber does not appear the entire
time, and when it stops lagging the close button becomes a black square. I
would bet that the lag is related to some issue with that indicator.

[krita] [Bug 423516] Krita wont open while Adobe After Effects is running

2020-06-25 Thread noarielle
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=423516

My ram usage seems to be fine.
Krita works ok while AE is open, it just has to be opened BEFORE I open up
After Effects or else it won’t even attempt to load...
It’s very weird, it shows no error at all and doesnt impact any RAM or
anything, it’s just like the button to open it doesn’t do anything while AE is
open...
It’s slightly annoying because I’m working on a project with both of them and
if I want to hop into Krita to make something I need to close AE, open Krita
and then reopen AE... then everything is fine...
I’ll send more details tomorrow like specifications and such if needed (it’s
late in my time zone)
Thanks though for trying to help!

(In reply to Lewis from comment #1)

output of .xsession-errors from 2 sessions without bug and 1 with bug

I found out about the (not very user-friendly) .xsession-errors file, and I've
made three text files: 'session_nobug' and 'session_nobug2' with the output
from two sessions with no bug occuring, and 'session_bug', with output from a
session with bug.
My guess about where the bug happens is in lines 188-9 of session_bug:

org.kde.plasma: requesting config for "Mapweergave" without a containment!
#"Mapweergave" = Folder View
QObject::disconnect: Unexpected null parameter

I don't know if this gets us closer to a solution, but at least I appear to be
the first one in five years to post log files here.

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=354802

ok. weird thing with those changes is that after the bug happens your
"plasma-org.kde.plasma.desktop-appletsrc" is missing the config for
icon-positions. (a line that starts with "positions=". This was never the case
for me. regarding logs i dont think any devs are interested in this 5year old
bug ticket and it doesnt seem to affect any of them so they can not reproduce.
you can try this since there is alot of stuff in those 2 lines for you, run:

kquitapp5 plasmashell

then edit 2 lines in your "plasma-org.kde.plasma.desktop-appletsrc"

[ScreenMapping]
itemsOnDisabledScreens=
screenMapping=

so there is nothing anymore after the "=". dont worry they will automatically
refill with the current settings aslong as you dont change anything else.

then run

kstart5 plasmashell

when starting plasmashell like this you get some output but i doubt it helps
anyone with identifying the problem.

another thing to try is the icon-cache delete.- apperently someone fixed it
that way. But moving around folders and thinking it has an effect on this bug
only confuses others - i very much doubt it changes anything and this bug just
does not happen everytime/consistently

2020-06-25 Thread stephen
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=423520

Bug ID: 423520
Summary: Weird GLITCH with Krita's rendering Engine
   Product: krita
   Version: 4.3.0-beta2
  Platform: MS Windows
OS: Microsoft Windows
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR

  Target Milestone: ---

Created attachment 129684

glitch_while_painting

SUMMARY
There's a weird glitch that occurs with Krita's rendering engine while/after
you paint a stroke.
Krita version is Krita Plus and version is 4.3.0-beta2(4.3.1-alpha git 5e750f3)

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
Unsure but I believe steps are as follow :
1. Have a big brush(200 pixels or more)
2. Have multiple raster rectangles in a group(maybe in white color)
3. Set the group layer style to stroke(mine was center stroke mode)
4. Paint around the borders of the rectangles, where the rendered stroke is
visible.

OBSERVED RESULT
The brush temporarily erases the stroke rendered by the layer style and
sometimes, an thick intruding pixel line appears here and there.

EXPECTED RESULT
No glitch at all

Git commit 77ddd5d44f2bf4155d0c9b6f7d05f01713b32d5d by Jan Kundrát.
Committed on 25/06/2020 at 10:56.
Pushed by jkt into branch 'master'.

SMTP: Do not ignore TLS errors

This fixes a CVE-2020-15047 (category: CWE-295). Since commit 0083eea5ed
which added initial, experimental support for SMTP message submission,
we have apparently never implemented proper SSL/TLS error handling, and
the code has ever since just kept silently ignoring any certificate
verification errors. As a result, Trojita was susceptible to a MITM
attack when sending e-mails. The information leaked include user's
authentication details, including the password, and the content of sent
messages.

Sorry for this :(.

Now, this patch re-enabes proper TLS error handling. It was not possible
to directly re-use our code for TLS key pinning which we are using for
IMAP connections. In the Qt TLS code, the decision to accept or not
accept a TLS connection is a blocking one, so the IMAP code relies upon
the protocol state machine (i.e., another layer) for deciding whether to
use or not to use the just-established TLS connection. Implementing an
equivalent code in the SMTP library would be nice, but this hot-fix has
a priority. As a result, SMTP connections to hosts with, e.g.,
self-signed TLS certs, are no longer possible. Let's hope that this is
not a practical problem with Lets Encrypt anymore.

Thanks to Damian Poddebniak for reporting this bug.

Hmm, I seem to be able to run After Effects 2020 17.1.1 (latest), and the
version before it, fine while Krita is running. I might say it's RAM related on
your end, have you measured how much memory you have left while After Effects
2020 is running? You can find this out in Task Manager. Hope this helps.

2020-06-25 Thread bugzilla_noreply
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=354802

--- Comment #113 from toon.peperm...@hotmail.com ---
To get the bug back I put my symlinked folders back on my desktop and after
some tries I indeed got a wallpaper+icons reset. I tried 'plasmashell
--replace', this didn't make any difference to wallpaper or icons.
So I've made a zip file with three folders: each with
plasma-org.kde.plasma.desktop-appletsrc, plasmashellrc and plasmarc, plus
screenshot in the two first. 'Before' is before the bug happens, 'after' is
after the bug, and 'after2' is after I did 'plasmashell --replace'. In
plasma-org.kde.plasma.desktop-appletsrc there are many differences, only one
difference in plasmashellrc (don't know if significant), and no difference in
plasmarc.
Somehow something goes wrong of course, but does plasmashell really have no log
file? How do developers know what goes wrong if something like this happens to
them?

Ok, thanks. This was fixed in a later version, then. The default KMail option
was buggy and removed and replaced with a normal combobox of options which
works properly. This was in Plasma 5.18 IIRC.

Debian should really ship newer stuff in testing. We're on Plasma 5.19 already.

That error message shows up if I set the email client to Evolution. With KMail
it doesn't show any error message, but doesn't do anything either (i.e.
clicking an email link doesn't launch kmail, and if it's launched, doesn't
trigger a "write new message" window). I don't have any other email clients
installed so cannot tell what would happen with others.

I had this issue and 450.51 did indeed fix it for me. Compositing is off but

We had the exact same issue in Elisa recently, and fixed it there by moving the
text to below the artwork when the view is more vertical than horizontal. See
https://invent.kde.org/multimedia/elisa/-/commit/6f48964505a3c11839a4aad196f492b4521fdee3

I wonder if we should extract the Elisa view into a shared media player art
view that can live in Kirigami and knows how to switch from a vertical to a
square or horizontal layout, and then use that thing both here and in Elisa.

Thoughts, Carson?

[kmymoney] [Bug 423509] kmymoney : decimal separator not supported anymore

2020-06-25 Thread bugzilla_noreply

> I'm not sure what you did "when I configured it,"

It means that when I logged-in for the first time into Plasma, I went
through all relevant (to my eyes) configuration sections in order to
make it suit my taste :)

Each time a new Plasma release is made I have the habit to have a
look at what has changed since the previous time. However I rarely
go the the locales section after 1st configuration.

> and I don't know if
> it's relevant on debian, but have you edited /etc/locale.gen and then run
> locale-gen?

It's relevant on debian. And yes I did it : I don't want to be
encumbered with GB of locales I will never use :) Relaunched
locale-gen just in case (should be automatically relaunched after
each upgrade btw) but it doesn't change anything.

> Is there any language choice made at installation time you
> might have missed?

There is only 1 locale configured on my systems. I configure debian
systems _really_ regularly since '96 ('cause before that I was more
a Slackware guy). I don't think I missed something regarding to
locales configuration on this one. I think it has been set up about
2 years ago.

However, having System Setting crash is one thing, but it does not
explain why only kmymoney has that decimal separator problem and not
Calc and Speedcrunch.
