[kwin] [Bug 431024] New: Minimize animation incorrect after primary display change (X11)

2020-12-31 Thread Razathorn
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=431024

Bug ID: 431024
Summary: Minimize animation incorrect after primary display
change (X11)
   Product: kwin
   Version: 5.20.4
  Platform: Manjaro
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: kwin-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: r...@chewies.net
  Target Milestone: ---

If you change the primary display via the display configuration ui, or you
plugin a monitor that is configured to be the primary when plugged in, the
panel rightfully moves to the correct location, but the minimize and restore
animation still acts like the panel is in the original location.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Plugin external monitor or change primary display via display configuration
ui.
2. minimize application
3. restore application

OBSERVED RESULT
Animation makes window appear to minimize the wrong location

EXPECTED RESULT
Animation makes the window appear to minimize to the task manager on the panel
where it actually resides after the change.

SUMMARY

On a traditional X11 multi-head setup (e.g. two screens ":0.0" and ":0.1"
active), KWindowSystem ignores the screen it is run on and enumerates/manages
windows on screen #0.

The fix is pretty simple as it's just a matter of passing the correct screen
number to NETRootInfo::NETRootInfo().

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. export DISPLAY=:0.1
2. run https://github.com/jlindgren90/qmpanel

OBSERVED RESULT
qmpanel lists the windows on screen #0

EXPECTED RESULT
qmpanel should list the windows on screen #1

2020-12-31 Thread Grayson Penland
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=430994

Huh. So it sounds like the file may be corrupt or you have a bad block on the
hard drive according to the cp output.

httpss://superuser.com/questions/110576/cp-reading-filename-input-output-error-why

That would explain why you had issues with re encoding the file and losing
part. What that DOESN'T explain is why VLC played back the full file.

I do think though that we can pretty safely rule out dolphin as the issue, if
cp too failed. I am new to the kde bug tracker, but can we close the issue now?

SUMMARY
Same as bug 419006, but move to 5.15.
I created an untested merge request making the change,
https://invent.kde.org/office/skrooge/-/merge_requests/2

The Flathub flatpak of Skrooge is on 5.15, and it has also updated some
dependencies and it seems ended the patch for gengetopt.

include these changes.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
It would be nice if the kdeapps and flathub flatpak JSON recipes were identical
apart from the branch/revisions. Maybe run both through `jq '.'` for standard
whitespace.

Happy new year!

[krita] [Bug 430925] Crash When Deleting Texture

2020-12-31 Thread bugzilla_noreply
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=430925

tomw.82...@gmail.com changed:

   What|Removed |Added

 CC||tomw.82...@gmail.com

I was able to duplicate this bug... The crash occurs before a log is created.
Below are some details found during debugging:

A segfault occurs inside the call to setCurrentItem() within
KoResourceItemChooser during texture removal. The row/col indices being passed
in appear to be valid. The segfault generally happens on a different thread, so
the issue could be concurrency-related.
Commenting out that line (239) avoids crashing Krita but leaves nothing
selected after deleting a texture. Just wanted to document these findings in
case it helps a dev address the root cause.

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=431019

Bug ID: 431019
Summary: Current year does not display properly at end of year.
   Product: skrooge
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: guillaume.deb...@gmail.com
  Reporter: mach...@gmail.com
CC: steph...@mankowski.fr
  Target Milestone: ---

Created attachment 134429
  --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=134429=edit
Image shows empty operations, with local date-time at top and version of
skrooge.

SUMMARY
When displaying "Current Year" in Operation or on Reports, and the user is
viewing these reports on Dec 31 local time, but GMT has switched to Jan 1 of
the next year, the user is unable to see their current year's set of
operations.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Live in a location that is -XX:XX of GMT+0:00
2. Wait until after Jan 1 00:00 of GMT+0:00, but before Dec 31 23:59 of GMT
-1:00 (or some other western timezone)
3. Try to view Current Year of operations

In fact, problem with mysqld can resolved simply by passing one argument to

Usage: ./mysqld [OPTIONS]

  resolved relative to this

plugin-dir

Here, we need to pass -b

Thanks for replying at this time of year.
Using ls -l all files show -rw-rw-r-- 1
All directories are the same.
Files are moved from this drive to one used as a staging point to be then
copied to my NAS box for family viewing, using filezilla.
This is the only file of hundreds over two years that failed to be moved.
By re-encoding the file to .mkv with Handbrake the new file can be moved.
I have trouble playing .mkv type files from the NAS box, therefore .m4v is
used.

[kdenlive] [Bug 431017] New: Ctrl + mousewheel zoom not working as expected

2020-12-31 Thread oliver_stotz
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=431017

Bug ID: 431017
Summary: Ctrl + mousewheel zoom not working as expected
   Product: kdenlive
   Version: 20.12.0
  Platform: Debian testing
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: User Interface
  Assignee: j...@kdenlive.org
  Reporter: oli...@klingt.org
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY

In the Timeline, zooming in / out using CTRL+mousewheel centers around position
00:00:00,000 of the timeline, instead of the current cursor/transport position.

This is not the case when zooming is done via CTRL++ and CTRL+- or when
dragging the zoom slider, where the zooming works as expected (centered about
momentary playback position)

Up until lately i was using KDENLIVE version 18.x, where the CTRL+mousewheel
zoom worked correctly, so i guess this bug was introduced in version 20.x

I noticed this behaviour on DEBIAN bullseye (both installed and in the
.appimage version) as well as on windows 7 (portable version)

So I uninstalled the non-debug version and installed the debug version, and now

Originally it showed:

So I removed the C:/Users/family/AppData/Roaming/digikam/facesengine directory.
I was then prompted to download again, but it crashed with:

[digikam] [Bug 430949] digiKam-7.2.0-beta2 (macOS (DMG)) breaks existing local MySQL/MariaDB instances on upgrade

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=430949

(In reply to Hackintosh HD from comment #29)

Problem partly solved by a workaround: I did a

~ $ sudo mkdir -p /opt/digikam.org/share/mariadb/ && sudo cp -p
/Applications/digiKam.org/digikam.app/Contents/opt/digikam.app/Contents/share/mariadb/english/errmsg.sys
/opt/digikam.org/share/mariadb/

to get around digiKam 7.2.0-beta2's obviously missing / not found localized
message resources as indicated by the error message in my comment #29 above. In
other words, afterwards the English errmsg.sys is the only component located
under /opt/digikam.org/… again, while all other MariaDB components still reside
within the app bundle.

To my surprise, this already solves the problem as you can see from the
following console output:

Git commit 78134c262c23e67a061dae49d537adebf59589eb by Alexander Lohnau.
Committed on 31/12/2020 at 17:51.
Pushed by alex into branch 'master'.

Fix mouse interaction with history entries

In case of the history entries we do not have
a ResultView, but rather a normal QML list view.
Consequently special properties/methods do not
exist.

This has the only downside, that one can accidentally
focus one item with the mouse when the user tries to do
a keyboard only interaction. But considering that clearing
specific entries from the history is done rarely and mostly
done by clearing all entries in the KCM this should be acceptable.

[digikam] [Bug 430949] digiKam-7.2.0-beta2 (macOS (DMG)) breaks existing local MySQL/MariaDB instances on upgrade

2020-12-31 Thread Hackintosh HD
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=430949

(In reply to caulier.gilles from comment #28)

Merci beaucoup, Gilles, I've downloaded and installed
digiKam-7.2.0-rc-20201231T170945-MacOS-x86-64.pkg now. Unfortunately, the error
dialog still appears and the problem remains the same.

I've then tried to launch mysqld in verbose mode manually using the parameters
from the error message:

I cannot reproduce the problem. All databases are created in the location
specified by the parameter "--database-directory". Activate the debug output as
described here: https://www.digikam.org/contribute/ and give us the full log
from the start including the digiKam start line.

[kde] [Bug 431015] New: Activity bar doesn't disappear

2020-12-31 Thread bugzilla_noreply
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=431015

Bug ID: 431015
   Summary: Activity bar doesn't disappear
   Product: kde
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Kubuntu Packages
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: major
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: unassigned-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: jens.verwae...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
Whenever I (accidentaly) hit meta+TAB, the activity bar appears with only one
activity running. This is OK, as I don't use more than 1 activity window.

I don't use activities and even have disabled all shortcuts to activities. So
theoretically I would expect NO activity bar to pop up at all.

BUT: it is very difficult to remove this bar. Sometimes, but not always, I can
remove the bar pressing meta+esc, sometimes this can be achieved moving the
mouse in the activity bar and pressing ESC.

This is a very annoying behaviour.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. press meta-TAB
2. (that's it, as from then on the bar is very difficult to remove)
3.

OBSERVED RESULT

EXPECTED RESULT
Activity taskbar should auto-hide.
And: if I choose NOT to use activities, this bar shouldn't show at all.

kate_LSP-client_highlighting

SUMMARY
Semantic highlighting seems works for C/C++ well. Only in dark mode, opening
cpp file I can see very low contrast (color is too dark) for name of classes,
like QString, user defined, etc.
Example in attachment.

QString sFileName = QDir::cleanPath(sName);

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Turn on LSP Client (default configuration)
2. Turn on 'Semantic highlighting'
3. Open any cpp file

OBSERVED RESULT
Color of name of classes used in code is too dark for dark mode. Seems they
have very low contrast.

EXPECTED RESULT
Color of classes used in code should be brighter or have different color just
to have better contrast (with dark background).

Remember that whole Macports package are compiled under BigSur 11.1 and last
Xcode. Only the binary compatibility backward to macOS 10.13.

MariaDB 5.5.68 (not Mysql) is compiled with Macports. There are few different
version avaailble if necessary:

https://ports.macports.org/?search=mariadb_by=name

So let's me hear if we need to tune MariaDB version.

Note: i just updated again the PKG at usual place.

Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Database-Maintenance
  Assignee: digikam-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: christ.de...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
I have multiple collections of photos that I want to completeley seperate from
antother. That's why I want also to separate Digikam databases for these
colletions. So I use the "digikam --database-directory ." command to create
"local" databases which can also be shared over multiple computers since the
photo collections are on a external drive.
My experience is that the "digikam4.db" file will successfully be created and
used but the 3 missing database files "recognition.db" "similarity.db" and
"thumbnails-digikam.db" will not. They will only be created when I don't use
the --database-directory option, but that's not an option.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Create new directory with pictures
2. Start digikam there with "digikam --database-directory ."
3. "digikam4.db" will be created but not the 3 missing databases

OBSERVED RESULT
Only "digikam4.db"

EXPECTED RESULT
"digikam4.db" "recognition.db" "similarity.db" and "thumbnails-digikam.db"

SUMMARY
Semantic highlighting seems works for C/C++. Only minor issue is that local
variables/members placed in body of methods, including parameters passed to

I'm not sure if this depends on server working by default with clang.

No, parabolic effect requires applets to be a bit in square for. Set its layout
to vertical to become parabolicable.

I just tried again, and cannot reproduce, What do you have as Executable? I
used `cat` to output the document contents from Disk via Argument

[digikam] [Bug 430949] digiKam-7.2.0-beta2 (macOS (DMG)) breaks existing local MySQL/MariaDB instances on upgrade

(In reply to Maik Qualmann from comment #20)

Thank you, Maik, I'll try to collect relevant MariaDB debug info then.

I'm afraid I also should check how the integrated MariaDB binaries of digiKam
7.2.0-beta2 were compiled considering the fact I'm running digiKam on a MacBook
Pro with an older Core2Duo CPU, which nowadays can be problematic with some
projects (example: https://github.com/Homebrew/homebrew-core/issues/50411).

Hi Gilles,

Yes, this behavior is also known under Linux. It is probably triggered because
at first there is no root collection in the database. I'll check it out in the

Maik,

My Mariab patch to relocate script and config files work as expected. I can run
digiKam with Mariadb under macOS.

I see a strange effect if i switch from a work sqlite db to internal mariadb
(from setup dialog, not using migration tool). when i press Ok from setup
dialog, mariadb database is initialized immediatly as expected, the collection
appears in album tree-view, and scan for new items start. But at the same time,
the Collection setup dialog page appears on the front. This is a non sense
because at least one collection is set already (taken from sqlite settings).

Can you reproduce ? Here i can and not only on macOS, as Linux give the same
result...

Notes:

- there is no official PKG or DMG installer for Mariadb under macOS. Only
Windows and Linux are proposed. So we need to include Mariadb compiled with
Macports in the bundle, no other choice.

- Very nice: Oracle only propose for free a Mysql version for 30 days trial.
Welcome to US company, seriously ! How oracle detroy an open source project !!!

Mariadb is compiled with Macports and included in the PKG bundle. I finalize a
patch for the PKG creation bash script to fix all text files from mariadb
included in the bundles (script and config files).
