Unaligned text that overflows into other widgets

SUMMARY
When widgets have long descriptions, other buttons will overlap the text.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open widget explorer

OBSERVED RESULT
1. Widgets with long descriptions have text that overflows onto other buttons

EXPECTED RESULT
1. The overflowed text should scroll on hover, or there should be a limit as to
how long the description can be, or the other buttons need to move down lower
to give enough space. There are multiple ways to resolve this problem.

Git commit 83cb227ee4e7b2b713f3c0799960adc04c1ffd5e by Michael Pyne.
Committed on 23/03/2021 at 03:50.
Pushed by mpyne into branch 'master'.

playqueue: Use an appropriate icon for rebadged "remove playlist" action.

A JuK user pointed out that the Play Queue context menu shows "Hide"
instead of "Remove Playlist" on the context menu, but that the icon
still looks like a trash can, which is not appropriate for "Hide".

I wasn't sure of a great icon to use either, but "list-remove" at least
does not imply that the Play Queue is being tossed in the rubbish.

[kate] [Bug 434811] New: Tab mnemonic messes with other mnemonics

2021-03-22 Thread John Salatas
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=434811

Bug ID: 434811
Summary: Tab mnemonic messes with other mnemonics
   Product: kate
   Version: 20.12.3
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: kwrite-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: jsala...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

Created attachment 136965
  --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=136965=edit
screenshot showing the two conflicted mnemonics

When kate is showing tabs for open files, if you press the ALT key, you will
notice that each tab is assigned a mnemonic according to its file name (I
suppose). This causes issues if the same mnemonic is used in some other
component.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. create two or more documents and save these. For one of these, use a
filename that starts with "a" (like "a file.txt"). The other two filenames
don't really matter.
2. go to a document the its filename isn't the one starting with "a"
3. Try to globally replace something. This usually would involve hitting
CTRL+R, then typing what you want to replace to what and then hitting ALT+A
(the mnemonic for "Replace ").

OBSERVED RESULT
Unfortunately, instead of performing the global replacement, it switches tabs
:(

EXPECTED RESULT
It should perform the f**ing replacement :)

KDE Frameworks Version: 5.80.0

Please try using the "Random Play" action for the toolbar. This is a dropdown
button or a context menu that contains all the potential random playback
toggles (there are 3 rather than 2 so it's not directly suitable to be a toggle
button).

Seems like the issue in Baloo itself. Moving the bug over there.

[valgrind] [Bug 434775] drd/tests/swapcontext.c doesn't build with musl

2021-03-22 Thread Bart Van Assche
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=434775

--- Comment #2 from Bart Van Assche ---
I took a look at the attached patch and noticed multiple new #ifdefs. I'm
concerned that adding so many #ifdefs would make the test harder to maintain.
So I added a configure test for swapcontext(). Can you take a look at commit
c9e88f3459e2 ("configure, drd: Only build the swapcontext test if swapcontext()
is available") and verify whether that is sufficient to make Valgrind build
again against musl?

Git commit 6aef3be8682d829f07ab86901ceff8755fee8610 by Michael Pyne.
Committed on 23/03/2021 at 02:59.
Pushed by mpyne into branch 'master'.

Improve track sequencing by removing the track sequencing classes.

This removes one of my first contributions to JuK :(

But it's worth it because the extra code is not worth the complexity,
seeing as how the job is really pretty simple in the first place, even
with album random play and randomized playback.

I believe this also fixes some bugs, including some longstanding ones.
Bug 417551 (being unable to drag and drop into Play Queue) had some
related work in a recent commit but was still broken until now.

I have just tried again, and the issue still appears to be there. The latest
version I tried with is 20.12.3, on Ubuntu 18.04.

If I go to File >> Open, or File >> Save As, nothing happens. No dialog box
pops up.

No response from submitter. But in any event I've never been able to reproduce,
and I've recently significantly restructured the playback code in a way that I
think is pretty solid (I had encountered bugs in the time slider being wrong,
which I've fixed, which did not match the reported behavior here but may have
been related).

Created attachment 136963

KDE Connect master build on Fedora with Breeze Dark and readable text

Thanks for taking the time to report this bug. Unfortunately I can't reproduce
it. With Breeze Dark on Fedora, everything looks nice and read-able as you
would expect. (Please see my new attachment).

Is there any chance you have changed the theme in a way which would cause this?
(I know very little about theming in Plasma, other than that it's very
complicated)

Could you perhaps try:
- Setting up a new user account on your computer and see if the theme renders
incorrectly on a clean user account?
- Installing a clean VM and see if the theme renders incorrectly there too?

I ended up using CopyQ utility, which incorporates this feature. It is not
integrated in the system as smooth as Klipper, but does it's job very well.

On most if not all *BSDs they produce SIGBUS. That *might* be the case on
Solaris as well. (I remember it being the case on SunOS on Sun-2, where 16-bit
and wider quantities had to be aligned on 16-bit boundaries, and on SPARC; that
probably carried over to SunOS 5.) Personally, I think that's how it *should*
be, but

[frameworks-solid] [Bug 342897] solidextensionplugin should be built as a bundle plugin and not a shared library

2021-03-22 Thread Hanspeter Niederstrasser
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=342897

Current code still calls the plugin as a shared library

https://github.com/KDE/solid/blob/master/src/imports/CMakeLists.txt#L21

So the problem probably still exists (I can't build solid now).
But there's data elsewhere that changing these plugins to be shared libraries
on macOS is problematic: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=342962

That was actually not true, I had enabled to keep elisa running in the system

I also disabled to show the progress in the window bar.

[digikam] [Bug 434795] Advanced search seems to notice internal tags

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=434795

Wow, thank you for the fast response!

I managed to butcher part of my bug report while editing it. "OBSERVED RESULTS"
should say simply "the search returns all of my untagged photos". (I think you
read it correctly despite this.)

Yes, I'm using SQLite. I normally use Digikam 6.4. I just tried the 7.2.0-rc
appimage and got the same result.

Then I tried 7.2.0-rc on a fresh database and a root folder with a few images.
I was able to get the Advanced Search selector to claim it had selected 19
invisible tags (see new screenshot). I couldn't get it to return any photos
with that search until I tried to run face detection; then it returned one
photo.

Poking around with sqlitebrowser showed that the Tags table starts with ~20
tags that look internal ("Color Label Red", "Scanned for Faces"), and that they
do get linked to images via ImageTags.

2021-03-22 Thread Aleix Pol
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=431223

I share Albert's sentiments.

If nobody feels like putting work on it, there's no need to support it. It's a
shame to ditch kate from flathub entirely because of these features who seem
fringe to me, but big part of the reason to push for new formats is to empower
the maintainers.

I also feel it's a shame to consider that systems that disregard security
measures are the way to go. But we're not going to solve this in this ticket.

The issue has been resolved for some time now. I'm having other issues with
latest nightly builds, but I have to take time to post a bug report. At the
moment all brushes work smoothly.
If I had to close the bug report or change it's status, I have to admit that I
lost the bug post link.

that we'll need to test before 5.0.0 release; but it's better to keep it
together with all other things we need to test, which is, in the spreadsheet.
