[krdc] [Bug 441497] Scaling feature does not scale anything

2021-08-26 Thread Thiago Macieira
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=441497

If I need to turn on a toolbar that isn't on by default, then the UX is wrong.

Either way, there's a button to scale. It's not doing anything. Either the
feature is broken or that button needs to be removed, possibly replaced by the
slider.

Go to preferences -> configure toolbars, and then choose scaling factor. It
will appear then infamous slider.

After more testing, if I do it in /tmp (drwxrwxrwt root root) and have test.txt
(-rw-r--r-- root root), the Dolphin bug can be reproduced. (`mv test.txt
test2.txt` will fail)

If I create a directory in /tmp, e.g. testdir (drwxr-xr-x user users) and have
test.txt (-rw-r--r-- root root), then `mv test.txt test2.txt` is OK.

So in the case of /tmp, I think there may be a bug in Dolphin.

Thanks for the quick reply. Very much looks like my LO bug. Now I just need to
tell Debian to fix a non-security bug in QtWayland; it is really nasty...

(I could use a QImage to catch the "application/x-qt-image" type and use
convertToFormat to get the right stuff, but this feels like a horrible
workaround :-( ... still tempting, but then other non-qt apps will still fail.
So guess I'll just wait for a fixed Qt5)

 CC||glo...@fbihome.de

I might be hijacking this report and it might be a different problem, but it
looks the same. I just analyzed a LibreOffice image pasting bug on Wayland in
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=142889

Repo:

1. spectacle -> copy to clipboard
2. "wl-paste -l" lists "image/png"
3. "wl-paste -t image/png >/tmp/unknown.data"
4. "hexdump -C /tmp/unknown.data | head -n 1"

  42 4d 36 ec 5e 00 00 00 00 00 36 00 00 00 28 00 |BM6.^.6...(.|

So instead of ~375k PNG, which I get from spectacle on save, I got a 6.2m BMP
from the clipboard, which LO's PNG reader doesn't like :-(

That's for my freshly updated Debian Bullseye, which has some KDE 5.20.5
variant.

[krita] [Bug 441435] Can't add ffmpeg as path

2021-08-26 Thread Know Zero
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=441435

I think I figured out the underlining issue. It wasn't a problem of gyan build
or btbn builds. But simply me using 4.4 vs snapshot builds.

And the culprit is Windows Defender. My guess what is going on is that since
snapshot builds are always new, Windows Defender spends time carefully scanning
them. The 4.4 builds on the other hands are known as many more people use them,
so Windows Defender just lets them through with less caution.

If I exclude the directory of the snapshot ffmpeg versions, it loads up quickly
just fine just like the 4.4 versions.

I am not sure why the com load faster than from the exe though, maybe windows
defender is more picky if the caller is an exe or maybe some other underlining
thing at play.

[plasmashell] [Bug 441591] New: Switching user sometimes results in frozen UI

2021-08-26 Thread bugzilla_noreply
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=441591

Bug ID: 441591
Summary: Switching user sometimes results in frozen UI
   Product: plasmashell
   Version: master
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: k...@davidedmundson.co.uk
  Reporter: safiel...@gmail.com

  Target Milestone: 1.0

Sometimes when I have two user sessions running, and I try to switch from one
to the other, I get a frozen login screen.

I have two running user sessions A and B, and I am currently logged into to B.
I then go to "switch user" and choose existing session A, it then sends me to a
login screen for A. Once there, the login screen is frozen and I can not log in
to A. I can press ctrl+alt+F2/F1 to log back in to session B, but always the
login screen will be frozen for session A.

This bug is not reliably reproducible, and happens like 1 in 6 times roughly.

[systemsettings] [Bug 441590] New: All settings get shifted to the right when Right-click option is on two finger mode

2021-08-26 Thread Jack Hill
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=441590

Bug ID: 441590
Summary: All settings get shifted to the right when Right-click
option is on two finger mode
   Product: systemsettings
   Version: 5.22.4
  Platform: Other

Created attachment 141077

Right-click mode set to two-finger mode

SUMMARY
When the touchpad Right-click option is set to "Press anywhere with two
fingers", all options in the settings ui are shifted to the right (or perhaps
if it's set to the other option then all options are shifted to the left?).

I guess that this happens because the second Middle-click option disappears
when two finger mode is enabled. This Middle-click option ("Press bottom left
and bottom right corners simultaneously") is the longest option and therefore
when it disappears, I think the settings window re-centres all options.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Start with "Right-click" set to "Press bottom-right corner"
2. Set Right-click to "Press anywhere with two fingers"

OBSERVED RESULT
Middle-click: "Press bottom left and bottom right corners simultaneously"
option disappears
All other options get moved to the right.

EXPECTED RESULT
Middle-click: "Press bottom left and bottom right corners simultaneously"
option disappears

If two finger mode is already enabled and the touchpad module is launched, all
options will appear normally and then instantly move to the right.

[Elisa] [Bug 441589] New: Refresh Music Library Inconsistent

2021-08-26 Thread K Dyer
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=441589

Bug ID: 441589
   Summary: Refresh Music Library Inconsistent
   Product: Elisa
   Version: 19.12.3
  Platform: Kubuntu Packages
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: matthieu_gall...@yahoo.fr
  Reporter: kenn...@dyerhouse.com
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY: Refresh Music Library Inconsistent

Issue with adding new sets of mp3's to my music collection. I purchase an
album on Amazon, unzip the files and move the contents into my music directory.
While the files will eventually find their way into Elisa, it's not immediate.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Move a new album of mp3's to the music directory.
2. Tell Elisa to Refresh Music library
3. Wait for refresh to complete.
4. Select Albums, Artists, or Tracks
5. Search for new content using the search interface or scroll

OBSERVED RESULT
The new music does not appear accessible through the interface. It can only be
played by navigating the file tree and manually calling the folder directly.
This adds the tracks to a playlist but does not add them to the library.

Closing and restarting Elisa does not help. That said, the music does appear
in the list after a few days. Not presently clear how it gets into the list.

EXPECTED RESULT
I would expect Refresh Music Collection to search the configured music
directory, recognize new files and directories, and add the music to the
interface.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Kubuntu 20.04, regularly updated.

I observe the same issue (I think) with kernel 5.13.12 on Arch Linux.

Adjusting the brightness level works just fine on Wayland, but has recently
been broken on X11. Running `xbacklight` returns `No outputs have backlight
property`, however, I *am* able to adjust the backlight from the command line
using `echo [value] > /sys/class/backlight/intel_backlight/brightness`.

Hi Rob

This worked. After a crash and a restart, I can now control the mount
perfectly. Thanks a lot!

A drawback of the Mac are the few USB plugs. My experience with an USB Hub is
not very convincing: PHD2 does not receive enough Signal for guiding from the
guiding camera.

With the Windows box with direct connection this works without problems…

Probably I try running it on a Ubuntu box with traditional hardware …

Thanks a lot, Erwin

Eoin, when you tested, did you try the Gyan build mentioned? Cause I was able
to replicate the issue in my VM.

To summarize:
At 1000 timeout:
BtbN build - no issue
Gyan build - issue when using krita.exe, no issue when using krita.com

Maybe some sort of startup delay or delay on getting the entire buffer?

Since I can replicate it, I can look into it in more detail if the 5000ms
timeout isn't ideal.

[krita] [Bug 441588] New: Windows - Blank Auto-Key feature exhibits artifacts in certain circumstances.

2021-08-26 Thread Eoin O'Neill
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=441588

Bug ID: 441588
Summary: Windows - Blank Auto-Key feature exhibits artifacts in
certain circumstances.
   Product: krita
   Version: 5.0.0-beta1
  Platform: Other
OS: Other
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Animation
  Assignee: eoinoneill1...@gmail.com
  Reporter: eoinoneill1...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
Auto key feature is useful, and the duplicate mode works as expected. However,
uniquely to Windows, the blank auto key mode causes some rendering artifacts
where the canvas doesn't update appropriately. I'm not sure what the cause of
this is, but it would be nice to get it working for release.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Draw a big box on frame 1. The bigger, the better here.
2. Go to frame 10. Enabled Auto-Key and make sure it is on "blank" mode.
3. Draw a smaller box. Smaller is preferable here, and make sure it overlaps
with some part of the line to properly see what's really happening.
4. Observe how the small box and the big box are both visible. You can see tile
artifacts from the smaller box overlapping the big one, which indicates that
the data and the visual are out of alignment.
5. Hide the layer and reshow to see what the canvas should actually look like.

EXPECTED RESULT
Blank key auto-key setting should have no artifacts, just like on Linux.

Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal

  Assignee: eoinoneill1...@gmail.com
  Reporter: eoinoneill1...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
For some reason, the cache will flush whenever the image time has changed. This
isn't a deal-breaker, but it's a minor annoyance and inconsistent with the
linux build.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Press play to cache the animation.
2. Press stop. Cache should persist.
3. Seek to time. Cache will immediately flush, which is undesired.

OBSERVED RESULT
Cache flushes

EXPECTED RESULT
Cache should persist. In the event that a flush is required, it should only
flush for the active frames' scope.

I'll go ahead and change the default timing to see if we can get this working
consistently for users.

5 seconds might be overkill since it might make the window slightly less
responsive, but I rather it be less responsive and work.

FWIW, to users curious, we have to run FFMPEG once to get details about the
version being used which should help with debugging in the future. We can also
verify the user is using a supported FFMPEG version by querying this
information.

"Yes, it's the same problem, so this can be closed as a duplicate of 440311,
and that one was fixed."

That's not true, I wrote clearly: "But it's in a different place, so it's not a
duplicate" - because bug 440311 has only a fix for kis_clipboard_brush_widget
file and not for every instance where we try to save a file with a colon in it.
Hence, for this bug report, it needs a separate fix. And it would be probably a
good idea to go through the files and check if we don't try to use
"QDateTime::currentDateTime().toString()"
or "QDateTime::currentDateTime().toString("-MM-ddThh:mm")" (or other
formats)
in some other places which end up as a filename, too (to prevent more bugs of
this type).

Since it still needs a fix, I'm reopening.

(I guess my second part of the comment: "I haven't tested it but I believe it
happens because of that other bug, hence I'm confirming." was a bit confusing).

If you are saying the behavior changed, please be more specific, as I don't
recall any intentional changes in that area. However, that type of behavior is
more dependent on the underlying plasma and qt libraries than on KMyMoney

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=441585

Bug ID: 441585
   Summary: kded5 crashes in
KWin::EffectQuickView::EffectQuickView
   Product: kwin
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: kwin-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: heiko.bec...@kde.org

SUMMARY

(Not sure which component is most appropriate)

kded5 crashes almost instantly and very frequently in
KWin::EffectQuickView::EffectQuickView, backtrace below. Looks like effects is
null here and if I revert c79d7f56dd0eacfea761984b49a493f5a730401b kded5 starts
working normally again.

This is on X11, running plasmashell with awesome set as KDEWM, not kwin.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. start kded5, e.g. when starting Plasma

Right click => Elisa or simply Enter on playlist and Elisa opens.

I have no hopes and do not ask anything personally for me.
I like this player and want basic improvement at least. I even started digging
Qt because of it. It simply looks strange and funny for me that basic functions
do not work. I appreciate people and respect their effort but let's be honest,
not complaisant.

Home partition

SUMMARY

The summary of bug report probably doesn't accurately describe the problem, but
I couldn't figure out a better one. Feel free to change it to a more accurate
one.

I have two partitions on my SSD, one is used for the root partition and one for
the home partition. When I navigate to the root/home partition, it shows up
with the partition name but not the mount point. I.e., the root partition is
shown as "100,0 GB Internal Drive (nvme0n1p2)" and the home partition - as
"123,3 GB Internal Drive (nvme0n1p3)". It's pretty awkward and looks odd. These
strange names are shows in the location bar and in the title bar. It would be
better if the local partitions used by the system show up as mount points (i.e.
as / and /home in my case).

Sorry. I'll explain. Open qbittorrent. Have some torrents seeding from mounted

qbittorrent shows errors instead starting seeding. It looks that qbittoerrent
starts before mount.

This bug report appears to be reporting two issues:

1. Can't find programs
2. Download doesn't finish

We need one bug report per distinct issue. Let's use this one to track the
download issue, and please file another bug report for the issue about not
being able to find the programs you expect.

The next time you try to download, please run `pkmon` in a terminal window and
then do the download/update/whatever. When Discover gets stuck, copy-and-paste
the `pkmon` output into a file and attach the file to this bug report.

Indeed, there is no standard shortcut for it. Adding one is pretty easy--the
hard part is using a shortcut that doesn't conflict with any shortcuts used in
