Wait for the light indicator to blink indicating it's on sleep 3. The cursor can still be moved although I cannot interact with the elements/icons or even start the terminal or ksysguard using meta+esc. I think its not the xserver as ctrl+alt+backspace still kills the desktop. I cannot diagnose any further as I don't have any further knowledge in reading logs. EXPECTED RESULT To wake just fine and SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Linux/KDE Plasma: Archlinux 5.16.8 KDE Plasma Version: 5.24 KDE Frameworks Version: the latest ones Qt Version: the latest ones ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Searching the web, this was a quite prevalent issue among users. As for me, I never encountered this before, just on Plasma 5.24. I tried creating a new user using useradd and # startx from it and the bug still persists so I don't think it's some broken config files or plasmoids, I also don't have a dedicated GPU. Just integrated ones of i5 4210U. The only workaround I tried is diabling TLP, reenabling masked services, removing i915 and processor related kernel parameters and rebooting countless of times. They didn't work. I also don't have a graphical login program like sddm and starts kde using startx. S3 power state is availabe, but I can't disable it in my bios... but it works in the past versions. My session files and xorg configs are okay i think and the rest of my setup is pretty standard. I'm on x11. Also, if I switch to another TTY using ctrl+alt+f2 and did the suspended there either using systemctl or powerbutton (my logind.conf is set to suspend on button press) then woke the PC then switched to the tty with plasma on it, the screen is not frozen and i can interact with the icons. I also have i3wm installed and this doesn't happen to it during sleep. After spending the night searching for a fix, I just I downgraded qt5-base plasma-desktop and plasma-workspace using "downgrade" from AUR to those in my cache (qt 5.15.12 and plasma 5.23.5). Just those three... and sleep worked fine again. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[plasmashell] [Bug 450068] New: Some monitor-related settings are lost after external monitor re-connected in wayland session
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=450068 Bug ID: 450068 Summary: Some monitor-related settings are lost after external monitor re-connected in wayland session Product: plasmashell Version: 5.24.0 Platform: Archlinux Packages OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: major Priority: NOR Component: Multi-screen support Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org Reporter: notsync...@163.com CC: aleix...@kde.org, notm...@gmail.com Target Milestone: 1.0 SUMMARY Some settings, such as tablet target display, and desktop wallpapers, will restore to default after external monitor reconnected or system rebooted in wayland session (X11 not tested). I have 3 monitors connected to a laptop through a USB type-c to 3 HDMI connector, two of them are normal 1080p displays, and one of them is a drawing tablet. After some digging I found these was caused by the drm output name changing after reconnection. Before reconnect: ls /sys/class/drm: card0/ card0-DP-1/ card0-DP-2/ card0-DP-3/ card0-DP-4/ card0-DP-5/ card0-eDP-1/ renderD128/ version After reconnect: ls /sys/class/drm: card0/ card0-DP-1/ card0-DP-2/ card0-DP-6/ card0-DP-7/ card0-DP-8/ card0-eDP-1/ renderD128/ version You can see the external display connector names are changed from 3,4,5 to 6,7,8. More reconnects will increase these number. While in the .config/plasmashellrc and .config/kcminputrc, I found the displays are identified by the connector name: [ScreenConnectors] 0=DP-3 2=DP-4 3=DP-5 4=DP-7 5=DP-8 6=DP-6 [Libinput][9580][109][HUION Huion Tablet_GS1161] OutputName=DP-3 [Libinput][9580][109][HUION Huion Tablet_GS1161 Pen] OutputName=DP-5 I guess these may be the problem. Connector names are changed after reconnect, thus the settings lost. Maybe we could use some more persistent things such as the monitor's serial number to identify them? STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Set a wallpaper for an external monitor connected through type-c connector/Set tablet target display to an external monitor connected through type-c connector 2. Unplug and replug the external monitor 3. The wallpaper restored to default wallpaper/Tablet target display settings restored to default OBSERVED RESULT Wallpaper/tablet settings are keeped EXPECTED RESULT Wallpaper/tablet settings are restored to default SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Linux/KDE Plasma: Archlinux (Wayland session) (available in About System) KDE Plasma Version: 5.24.0 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.90.0 Qt Version: 5.15.2 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=450065 Bug ID: 450065 Summary: Custom default look and feel isn't fully applying on Plasma 5.24, in particular the panel theme Product: systemsettings Version: 5.24.0 Platform: Fedora RPMs OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: major Priority: NOR Component: kcm_lookandfeel Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org Reporter: ngomp...@gmail.com Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY With fresh installs of Fedora 36 with Plasma 5.24.0, the default look and feel theme does not seem to be fully applying properly. In particular, the Breeze Twilight look and feel setting is not respected and I get default light Breeze. This is despite my setting it (the new way) in our defaults: https://pagure.io/fedora-kde/kde-settings/c/3cd46daaf3a2fcfb8266364eed37ab7744760eb7 (Sidebar, the old way still works, and I thought that code was supposed to be removed per bug 446569?) STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Download today's nightly ISOs for F36 ( https://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/buildinfo?buildID=1916335 ) 2. Boot into the live environment OBSERVED RESULT The panels use the upstream default Breeze Light look. EXPECTED RESULT The panels use the configured default Breeze Dark look. I already did some initial investigation This is solely a overview effect issue. I'm not exactly sure about wayland case in terms of making it work, because it would be like talk to kwin itself or implement a special QPA. I'd at least assume we can try to make it work under X11. I think the reason behind this is that kwin is using QOffscreenWindow for this effect, and somehow setFocusObject is never triggered to the input method. The New Entry button in the editor is intended to facility the workflow when adding multiple new entries sequentially. I happen to do that occasionally so I like the button there :). If you'd like a button on the toolbar that directly adds a new entry, you can use the Settings->Configure Toolbars to add the "New Entry" command wherever you like. I'm happy to be able to say that I believe Tellico already has the functionality to do just as you've requested. If you add a new field to a collection, of type URL, then you can enter a path to a local file or a fully remote URL. Clicking the link would then open that file in associated program. You can have multiple fields of this type if you choose, in any collection type. https://docs.kde.org/trunk5/en/tellico/tellico/details.html#url Double-clicking the entry won't open it, but the link in the view will be active for clicking. [digikam] [Bug 449968] [Feature Request] Dynamic / Virtual Albums
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=449968 --- Comment #8 from Ty Mayn --- I am hopeful to learn the workaround that Maik describes since it speaks to 2 features I described in this thread. That is 1 from a collection(dynamic album) selected in MainViewer export symlinks to a folder destination 2 provide manually sorting of the thumbnails representing a collection(dynamic album) I am using digikam with all metadata stored in database and no writes back into imagefiles to purposely leave original files and filenames undisturbed . Also wanting to avoid duplications even though I want to isolate named lists for feeding to slideshow (which does not show a feature for list input ) In my newby testing I had created 2 symlinks on win10OS pointing to 2 imagefiles in my collection. I moved these into a new folder ( called "dynamic") and added it to my albums database including "refresh" . The album collection shows "dynamic" but with zero contents. Maik pointed out the "local export" which I was unaware of (surrounded by export to various web services which I am not using). I selected 2 files for export and great they did allow symlinks to go out to a target directory (I put that target outside of database albums). From that outside, local directory I moved one symlink into that same "dynamic" folder which is my most recent album added to the database and it continues to display "0" contents (btw the symlinks were assigned identical name of the source imagefile) I would like to have the kind of "scratch" pad directory filled with symlinks that I can either rename for sorting or manually drag and drop but I dont know why the album/directory is empty (I am doing refresh from the R click menu on the AlbumViewer) I am excited to hope for what Maik describes as: "You can even assign your own tags or labels to the symlinks within the database." I need rescue with more step by step of this workaround. Thanks for guiding me along my learning curve Ty Mayn -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[okular] [Bug 184742] Page orientation with dvi
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=184742 John M. Novak changed: What|Removed |Added CC||kde...@dev.jade-lynx.com --- Comment #5 from John M. Novak --- I took a look at reproducing this; as stated, the issue can be reproduced. Using the .dvi file attached to the report, we can see that it renders in Okular in a portrait-mode page, with contents being cut off to the right side of the page. (Checked mostly in V21.08.1, though I did a quick cross-check in a build of V22.03.70.) I think this is more of a feature request than a bug; the issue is that as far as I can tell, the DVI format does not store page orientation or size information in its standard form. If you use the tool dvipdf, you get the same result as Okular. You can use dvips -t landscape to get a PS file rendered in landscape; but you must supply the option yourself, it's not embedded in the file. Thus, I don't know that Okular can do any better by default with DVI. Just for completeness, confirmed that on my machine rotating doesn't help (rotates the page and its contents together), nor does printing (attempting to print landscape for me still printed portrait -- not immediately sure if that's a separate issue or not, or just something related to Linux printing). We could envision an option in Okular to specify the page size & orientation to use with DVI files, similar to dvips '-t' option (though likely a menu, or somesuch); at this point, I couldn't say what the best approach for that would be. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[kstars] [Bug 450039] Difficult to zoom in Analyze Module
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=450039 --- Comment #3 from Hy --- I have a MBP as well. Try the "two finger down or up" swipe on the trackpad. When focused on the timeline it seems to zoom in X. When focused on the graph window it seems to zoom in Y. As I said, if you have a mouse, the scroll button zoom also works. It's odd that my MBP zooms ok with the keyboard shortcuts, but your (French) keyboard doesn't. Perhaps try other characters besides +/-? Let me know if you figure out what I need to add for french. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
