[valgrind] [Bug 455826] Running Valgrind memcheck on a live process without exiting it reports LDL but on graceful exit it does not.
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=455826 --- Comment #8 from shapath --- Thanks, Philippes for the response. So does this means that Valgrind will report false positives for LDL if structure packing is used? As I mentioned this is a third-party code and structure packing is used for many structures which are used extensively to save memory. and it reports leaks at all these places. Is there any flag or workaround available for this problem? I googled and found that ASAN has a flag that helps to bypass this problem. https://github.com/google/sanitizers/wiki/AddressSanitizerLeakSanitizer " use_unaligned 0 If 0, LSan will only consider properly aligned 8-byte patterns when looking for pointers. Set to 1 to include unaligned patterns. This refers to the pointer itself, not the memory being pointed at." Is there any such solution that exists? -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=455712 --- Comment #2 from Andrej Falout --- Same problem with face login (Howdy). This comes just after the "Screen locker is broken and unlocking is not possible" (455874) was apparently fixed. Lost count how many times that one regressed. It even comes with it's own instructions screen, that's how "popular" it is. And this one seems to be intentional: "This patch adds an explicit button that must be pressed if no other prompts were given during the authentication process." Thanks for all that info - while it's a pity there doesn't seem to be a way to upgrade Kalarm (which would be understandable if it needed a newer version of Akonadi, which it doesn't, so it's a bit perplexing), it's good to know that when I upgrade the system, this will be a thing of the past. And many thanks for your workaround - while it has been behaving ever since I fiddled around in Akonadi Console, so installing that app was definitely worth it, I'll keep your workaround in case I ever need it! Oh, and I actually put some wrong info in my summary, and apparently users can't edit their own comments on this site. I was incorrect when I said: *akonadi_kalarm_resource_1* is "kalarm" and that *akonadi_kalarm_resource_5* is "Archived Alarms" Both of those are actually "Archived Alarms" - "kalarm" is *akonadi_kalarm_dir_resource_1* - but it was only *akonadi_kalarm_resource_5* that was going back and forth from Ready to being busy. And I'm happy to note that after choosing to "Restart Agent", the problem hasn't restarted after multiple reboots! [i18n] [Bug 456334] Missing german translations in systemsettings, especially in "appearence","workspace behavior" and "window management" in Plasma 5.25
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=456334 Frederik Schwarzer changed: What|Removed |Added CC||schwar...@kde.org --- Comment #1 from Frederik Schwarzer --- Hi, from what I can see in the translation files, the strings you see untranslated are translated here. E.g. "Window Decoration" - translated in the PO file "Desktop Effects" - translated in the PO file "Screen Edges" - translated in the PO file "Virtual Desktops" - translated in several PO files I am using an older version of everything so I cannot check it in the UI but I suspect a different problem than missing translations. > I think you should one and for all find a solution to translate the whole > Desktop Translation (as most things) is an ongoing process. There is no "once and for all" solution. There are over 20 Strings in the GUI and the websites (documentation comes extra) and since applications are evolving, new strings are added or existing strings are changed every day. The German translation has over 4 untranslated strings in the GUI and Websites. So technically, missing translations are not a bug but a lack of contributions. ... Of course we try to have "the desktop" and core applications translated but even that is not always possible. No one in the German translation (probably in any translation) is paid for it. It is just a leisure time hobby if life permits it. Anyway, I digress. So maybe Arch is breaking translations or maybe KDE's release scripts are broken. Could you find a file named kcm_kwindecoration.mo in some path containing /de/ on your system and attach it to this report? [krita] [Bug 454031] Specific Color Selector does not show color in the RGB sliders
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=454031 --- Comment #2 from Josep Febrer --- I built Krita from latest master, 76a9e434dd, and as this bug explains the sliders from Specific Color Selector docker in my case they only show the black no matter how you move the slider. I suspect that his bug it's due to Qt 5.15, I'll use the version from KDE's git, and even tried to apply Krita patches, most of them are already applied on Qt from KDE git, but still the sliders don't update the color, and they remain in black. In general a good work had been done the last months by the Kde-Team,so that I can say that the Plasma Desktop is now very stable, fast at boot and shutdown, even on a hard disk, not only on an SSD in my arch system. But the sore point remain the translations.By the way also a weakness in other Desktops and Linux in general. The terms in the upper part can be translated in a few minutes and prepared for the next update. I've bought a new computer (my old one has weakened recently). In the meantime I intend to use Arch Linux Kde on an external hdd that I installed before the missing translations came up,with a btrfs file system and systemd-bootloader where I can use KDE with a snapshot system using it with Plasma 5.24.5 where all was still right. https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=397873 Nate Graham changed: What|Removed |Added Version Fixed In||5.26 Status|CONFIRMED |RESOLVED Resolution|--- |FIXED --- Comment #13 from Nate Graham --- This is basically fixed with the merge of https://invent.kde.org/plasma/plasma-workspace/-/merge_requests/1147. [kwin] [Bug 456298] [regression] UI freezes and kwin_wayland goes into an infinite loop when turning on TV screen
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=456298 --- Comment #1 from Maciej Stanczew --- Created attachment 150395 --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=150395=edit journal for 5.25.2 with VR headset unplugged Looking through the commits between 5.25.1 and 5.25.2, I see mention of setups with VR headsets; and I do in fact have a Valve Index connected to the PC. As a test I unplugged the headset, and the issue disappeared. Now there are just two short sets of messages in the logs (attached): one about the TV output disappearing (18:20:51 = when power on button is pressed on the remote), and one about the output reappearing after a couple of seconds (18:20:58 = when the TV actually turns on). Bisection (with the VR headset connected) was a bit problematic, because after commit ea8b0d962 and before 3bac0cd07 kwin would just hang on boot; I had to either not include any of those commits, or include both of them. Ultimately I confirmed that commit cb5981a16 (= v5.25.1) works (despite still printing some "Atomic test for (0) failed! Invalid argument" messages), while commit ea8b0d962 with cherry-picked 3bac0cd07 doesn't work (leads to the infinite loop in kwin_wayland). -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
