I'm having the same problem, also using fingerprint to unlock. In my case the
log shows a different message:
```
jul 11 22:37:40 fprintd[138530]: Authorization denied to :1.547 to call method
'Claim' for device 'Goodix MOC Fingerprint Sensor': Device was already claimed
```

But with a single monitor, it works (unlock) normally, without the warning.

And like Bruno said, when button appears i write my password and press enter
and it unlocks, sometimes i need to go to tty and return for it to unlock.

[kwin] [Bug 456608] New: Window refresh randomly glitches out

2022-07-11 Thread nttkde
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=456608

Bug ID: 456608
Summary: Window refresh randomly glitches out
   Product: kwin
   Version: 5.25.2
  Platform: Neon Packages
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: kwin-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: watisthis...@outlook.com
  Target Milestone: ---

Created attachment 150549
  --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=150549=edit
video

It's possible that this is some amdgpu driver glitch but since it started after
the 5.25 updates I think the problem could be in Kwin. (I installed the 5.25.0,
.1 and .2 updates all at pretty much same time so can't say which one)

Sometimes a window suddenly glitches and its contents refresh gets really slow
(like <1 fps) and glitchy.
So far this has happened to Firefox, Dolphin, Kwrite and Opera IIRC. Closing
and restarting the glitched app fixes the problem. It seems to happen like
almost once a day to some app so it's quite annoying.

Please see the attached video to see what it looks like.
Note how showing the window thumbnail from the panel behaves. The thumbnail
itself shows the window contents perfectly fine and smoothly. There is also the
large margin around the thumbnail popup which seems to be updating the
underlying window differently.

There are some kwin_x11 XCB errors in system logs around when the bug occurs; I
think they may be related. I haven't seen those in that large numbers before.

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=456511 could be related but in my case
apps never freeze completely.

Bug ID: 456606
Summary: Switching ttys breaks (on nvidia)
   Product: kwin
   Version: git master
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: platform-drm
  Assignee: kwin-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: aleix...@kde.org
  Target Milestone: ---

Created attachment 150546

startplasma-wayland output

I was testing this nvidia card for the first time, I can see it fail when
switching back from tty, apparently failing to flip the screen, which breaks
the whole system.

Attaching the log which is quite explicit what is happening, just not why.

I also see it freeze similarly when coming back from sleep, I wonder if it's
the same issue.

[plasmashell] [Bug 456497] Icons and Widgets Move on Second Monitor

2022-07-11 Thread Michael Mikowski
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=456497

Hi Bug Triage:

I know this is very similar to other bugs, however, we tried to be as precise
as possible and eliminate unknowns to help sort our what could be the issue.
For example, we were sure to note our DPI settings (default, not set) and
global scale (default, 100%). We also used a very common theme (Breeze Dark) to
avoid any interference from any custom layouts. We also reproduced this with
manually placed widgets to avoid any possibility that this could be
layout-induced. We filed specifically against 5.24.5 LTS, and we added
annotated screen shots as well.

I hope you find this useful.

Sincerely, Mike

[plasmashell] [Bug 456605] New: Plasma crashes when opening application dashboard

2022-07-11 Thread Mark Daniels
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=456605

Bug ID: 456605
Summary: Plasma crashes when opening application dashboard
   Product: plasmashell
   Version: 5.24.4
  Platform: unspecified
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Keywords: drkonqi
  Severity: crash
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: darkmani...@posteo.net
CC: k...@davidedmundson.co.uk
  Target Milestone: 1.0

Application: plasmashell (5.24.4)

Qt Version: 5.15.3
Frameworks Version: 5.92.0
Operating System: Linux 5.17.15-76051715-generic x86_64
Windowing System: Wayland
Distribution: Pop!_OS 22.04 LTS
DrKonqi: 5.24.4 [KCrashBackend]

-- Information about the crash:
- What I was doing when the application crashed:
I pressed the super key to bring up the application dashboard and nothing
happened. I pressed it again and Plasma briefly crashed.

- Unusual behavior I noticed:
The first press of the super key failed to pull up the application dashboard as
usual. After the second press of the super key the dashboard still didn't come
up, and my panel disappeared for a second or two, then came back. After that I
was able to press the super key and pull up the application dashboard as usual.

The crash does not seem to be reproducible.

[digikam] [Bug 456604] New: Parse "file name timestamp" with template YYYY-MM-DD hh[hH]mm when adusting time & date

2022-07-11 Thread Beto Kella
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=456604

Bug ID: 456604
Summary: Parse "file name timestamp" with template -MM-DD
hh[hH]mm when adusting time & date
   Product: digikam
   Version: 7.7.0
  Platform: Microsoft Windows
OS: Microsoft Windows
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Metadata-Date
  Assignee: digikam-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: betoke...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
I have a large library of images with file names following the template
"-MM-DD hh[hH]mm IMG_". Not sure which utility was used in the past
that used this template. But need to be able to adjust time & date based on the
mentioned file name template

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Select an item. Example "2020-04-17 18h45 IMG_0001.JPG"
2. Click on "Adjust Time & Date"
3. Select "File name timestamp"

OBSERVED RESULT
The result (with the file name template mentioned above) is that the date is
parsed correctly (2020-04-17) but not the time (ends up in 00:00:00)

EXPECTED RESULT
That the time in the mentioned format were also parsed correctly (18:45:00 in
the example above)

I think most/all of these bug reports should be marked "resolved dupe" of bug
#439285 to tidy things up a bit?
Basically libkgapi needs fixing as mentioned in the bug report. bug #439285
comment 15
Sadly #439285 is also over a year old, lack of resources I guess :-(

I'm sorry, let me rewrite my last comment.
One very curious thing is that the monitor will not "turn off" while the little
VLC icon bouncing beside my mouse cursor (Kde's way of indicating something is
loading) doesn't go away. When the bouncing icon goes away AND the video is
fullscreen AND the menu with the progress bar disappears, then I can observe
the bug

I'm not really sure this can be considered a bug; items resizing whenever the
size of their content changes is to be expected; making them wider by default
will still require shifting around if a shortcut is that big, and will probably
yield complaints from people about wide menus with a lot of blank space. And
this doesn't really pose any usability issues, s...

Unfortunately when I click on it now, Plasma crashes and restarts without
giving me the bug reporting dialog. Is there a way to get the backtrace
without it? Where is it stored, if it's saved automatically.

Hello,

In my case, the same, after some update...

Maybe the following method will help:

$ /usr/lib/kscreenlocker_greet --testing

showed, among others:

file:///usr/share/plasma/look-and-feel/org.kde.breeze.desktop/contents/lockscreen/LockScreenUi.qml:75:
Error: Cannot assign to non-existent property "showPassword"

So I deleted line 75 in that file:
mainBlock.showPassword = false;

and the additional screen with the "Unlock" button is no longer displayed.

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=456373

OK, so this bracketed paste shall prevent immediate execution of pasted text.
Pasting into an application like an editor, that does not understand this
protocol, seems to be fine, as it will most likely not execute commands. So
disabling the protection seems reasonable.

As we see, some programs like glxgears ignore console input all together and
only dump a few messages out. That is also unproblematic - still no one is
executing the stuff.

Now, here is the catch: After the program exits, the shell e.g. bash should
re-enable the bracketed paste protocol. How come, they don't wipe out the
buffers and instead run what is left in there? Isn't this still a security
hole?

[plasmashell] [Bug 456600] New: Discover is pinned to the Task Manager by default even if not installed

2022-07-11 Thread Martino Fontana
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=456600

Bug ID: 456600
Summary: Discover is pinned to the Task Manager by default even
if not installed
   Product: plasmashell
   Version: 5.25.2
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
Component: Task Manager and Icons-Only Task Manager
  Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: tinozzo...@tutanota.com
  Target Milestone: 1.0

SUMMARY
When starting Plasma for the first time (or when applying the Desktop Layout of
the Breeze theme), Discover is pinned to the Task Manager even if it's not
installed.
This results in a generic icon that gives an error when clicked.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Uninstall Discover;
2. Start Plasma for the first time (or Settings>Global Theme>Breeze>Apply
Desktop Layout);
3. Look at the Task Manager.

OBSERVED RESULT
Discover is pinned, despite not being installed.

EXPECTED RESULT
Discover shouldn't be pinned, or there should be an alternative app (like when
Firefox isn't installed, Kate is in its place).

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS

KDE Plasma Version: 5.25.2
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.95.0

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
I don't know if this may also apply to the other applications pinned by
default, mainly System Settings and Dolphin.

If you right-click on an album, you can see whether there are images in the
view.
Then comes the dialog that asks again. If you delete without the trash, a
warning message will appear again if there are files that may not have been
displayed in digiKam. If you delete in the trash, there is even an undo
function. I don't think we need any more warnings here as deleting not empty
albums is intentional for most users.

[dolphin] [Bug 456596] New: Location bar fills automatically based on recently viewed directories, directories sharing subsequent letters will have the capitalization changed to the suggestion from "r

2022-07-11 Thread bugzilla_noreply
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=456596

Bug ID: 456596
Summary: Location bar fills automatically based on recently
viewed directories, directories sharing subsequent
letters will have the capitalization changed to the
suggestion from "recent"
   Product: dolphin
   Version: 22.04.3
  Platform: Archlinux Packages
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: minor
  Priority: NOR
 Component: bars: location
  Assignee: dolphin-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: momo.in...@gmail.com
CC: kfm-de...@kde.org
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
The bar for typing a URL/PATH auto fills a recent directory permanently instead
of it being a suggestion that can be selected with Tab.

In my specific case I wanted to use the sftp protocol, so I typed in sftp://,
but it came out as Sftp://, because a recent directory I have previously typed
in started with a capital S.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Have Dolphin remember a recent directory so it shows in the drop down menu
of suggestions when using the directory path bar.
2. Continue typing a different directory and notice how the capitalization from
the original suggestion remains.

OBSERVED RESULT
The wrong capitalization of a word will keep being fed into the location bar as
long as a directory in "recents" shares the letters.

Example: subdirectory named "Androidstudios_install" will be autofilled as
"AndroidStudios_install", because a directory in recents is called
"AndroidStudioProjects".

EXPECTED RESULT
The auto fill will temporarily suggest a directory that you can select with tab
but will not alter the location bar if you just keep typing in it.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux/KDE Plasma: 5.18.10-zen1-1-zen
KDE Plasma Version: 5.25.2
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.95.0
Qt Version: 5.15.5

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
The capitalization might not affect something like the sftp URL from resolving,
however it could disrupt a manually typed directory path because they're case
sensitive.

Sorry, just figured out you can have multiple layouts active on the same
activity, and how to assign specific panels to specific layouts

Therefore (for anyone else finding this), to achieve it, make multiple plasma
themes, enable "multiple layouts based on activities" in "configure latte", set
a different plasma theme for each layout, assign one panel to each layout,
enable the layouts you want in your current activity/all activities, and
finally make sure that all panels use their layout's color scheme.

Currently, the background color can only be changed per layout by using a
specific plasma theme. However, if you have multiple panels (in the same
activity), there is no way to set a different plasma theme for each panel
individually.

Maybe this is quite niche, but to me this is pretty much a dealbreaker

Hello Dmitry.
So, I've reset my settings as suggested, but using the stylus, it's the same.
On my side, the cursor gets stuck while painting with stylus+Wintab and
stylus+WinInk.

[kdesrc-build] [Bug 456593] New: kdesrc-build uses plasma-wayland-protocols from system instead of built one

2022-07-11 Thread Thiago Sueto
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=456593

Bug ID: 456593
Summary: kdesrc-build uses plasma-wayland-protocols from system
instead of built one
   Product: kdesrc-build
   Version: Git
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: mp...@kde.org
  Reporter: herzensch...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

I followed the installation instructions in
https://community.kde.org/Get_Involved/development#Set_up_kdesrc-build

KGuiAddons fails to build because it's not finding the built
plasma-wayland-protocols from master, it's instead attempting to use my system
version (1.5.0):

CMake Error at CMakeLists.txt:55 (find_package):
Could not find a configuration file for package "PlasmaWaylandProtocols"
that is compatible with requested version "1.7.0".

The following configuration files were considered but not accepted:

/usr/lib64/cmake/PlasmaWaylandProtocols/PlasmaWaylandProtocolsConfig.cmake,
version: 1.5.0
/lib64/cmake/PlasmaWaylandProtocols/PlasmaWaylandProtocolsConfig.cmake,
version: 1.5.0

I'll add my kdesrc-buildrc as attachment together with the stdout/stderr of
running kdesrc-build plasma-desktop systemsettings krunner
--include-dependencies.

I also found it rather weird that trying to run --refresh-build still renders a
message "No changes from build, skipping install (--refresh-build this module
to force install)". I'll add this as an attachment too.

[LabPlot2] [Bug 455579] X offset of 2 hours after reopening an saved project file

2022-07-11 Thread bugzilla_noreply
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=455579

--- Comment #11 from tanjatroesc...@gmail.com ---
Hi Stefan,

again many THANKS for your help.
With your update the loaded project shows now a correct xy graph.

But now the offset exists for fresh imported data, or when a time value will be
changed.

I added some screenshots:

"Version Jul 10 2022, 22:26:15"
Shows the version I tested

"Fresh imported data has offset in xy graph"
Shows a generated graph from fresh imported data into the table. The generated
graph has an offset of -2 hours.

"After saving as project, closing and reopening the offset in xy graph is gone"
After saving the table with fresh imported data and the xy graph with -2 hour
offset as project, closing LabPlot2, reopening it and loading the saved
project, everything is correct.

" Changing the value of a time data point by hand generates an offset again"
But changing the first time value from "19.06.2022 00:00" to "19.06.2022 00:01"
generates for that data point an -2 hour offset again.

Many Thanks
Tanja

[Books] [Bug 456375] Invalid link to download the book

2022-07-11 Thread David C. Bryant
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=456375

I made a couple of commits in gitlab. "kdesrc-build kf5book" now creates a .pdf
file, and an html file. The "epub" still dies:

gmake[2]: *** [CMakeFiles/epubbook.dir/build.make:85:
KDE-Frameworks-Cookbook.epub] Error 6
gmake[1]: *** [CMakeFiles/Makefile2:139: CMakeFiles/epubbook.dir/all] Error 2
gmake[1]: *** Waiting for unfinished jobs
[ 86%] Built target htmlbook
[ 97%] Built target pdfbook

I can't figure that problem out. I checked the command syntax on line 85 of
"build.make", and it looks OK to me. Albert, is it OK to load the .pdf file
directly into the community wiki? Or is there some sort of auxiliary storage
area where it ought to reside?

Apologies - it seems it's been added to the master branch in git, but not to
the stable 5.1 branch. Because the new ledger is a complete rewrite, I don't
think it will be possible to backport it. I suppose we can convert this bug to
a wishlist, which can be closed when the new ledger gets released to production
(no, there is no schedule for that yet.)

Pushed by tfella into branch 'master'.

Check availability of documents while counting them

Fixes the cases where documents are counted but not available.
This can happen if the events come from android's system calendar or if the
document was deleted from another event's document list.
In both of these cases, the reference should probably be deleted instead, but
this is a good safety measure nevertheless.
