This is a bug that we probably won't be able to fix. It's a problem between Qt
and Wayland. Here on openSUSE (I use X11 by default) when I start a native
Wayland session I can't reproduce the problem.

[kdevelop] [Bug 468605] auto-correction incorrectly changes dot to arrow in floating-point literals when using uniform initialization

This proposed workaround is too narrow for my liking. What if the user types a
name of a constant of a built-in type instead of an integer literal? But I
guess if there is no more general fix that is acceptable, this workaround might
do.

Please enable Arabic support in https://docs.kde.org/ . Currently, Kturtule's
Handbook is fully translated to Arabic.

Please also, add the right RTL support in the CSS. After enabling Arabic, I
can report any issue in the standard-rtl.css . I what I can see, it lacks
direction:rtl; in the body{}.

[kdevelop] [Bug 468605] auto-correction incorrectly changes dot to arrow in floating-point literals when using uniform initialization

2023-04-25 Thread Igor Kushnir
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=468605

When I apply the attached patch, I get the following output while reproducing
the bug:
RESULTS: 1 ; kind: OverloadCandidate
kind: 2 chunk text: "Test"
kind: 10 chunk text: "{"
kind: 3 chunk text: "int a"
kind: 14 chunk text: ", "
kind: 5 chunk text: "float b"
kind: 11 chunk text: "}"

I don't quite understand what's the meaning and purpose of this completion.
Someone will have to investigate this further and maybe experiment/test whether
this completion cursor kind is ever useful. If not, KDevelop could also return
early from ClangCodeCompletionContext() when there is a single completion
result after the tentative arrow and its cursor kind is OverloadCandidate.

Hi,

The Okular part does not seem to like the relative path or something.

Please install markdownpart (sudo apt install markdownpart) and either remove
the Okular markdown backend or move it down the list in file associations in
System Settings.

The markdown part works nicer with Kate as it has much less keyboard shortcuts
that might conflict.

If you want to continue using the Okular kpart, you need to file this bug to
Okular.

I hope this helps

Hello Nate,

Sorry about not getting back to you earlier. I did not revive a email message
that you responded earlier until the janitor service sent a reminder.

Anyways as of plasma 5.27.4 this is no longer happening, as now no matter what
I do when I try to shift the system tray to the right, it would always
automatically change itself to the left upon trying it to move it to the right.
I noticed I can get around this limitation if I add a spacer between the global
menu and the system tray, so I was able to find a work around

[digikam] [Bug 468980] New: Digikam and Showfoto interface becomes buggy/broken after opening/closing settings page on Fedora (On Flatpack and AppImage, and only ShowFoto on RPM)

2023-04-25 Thread bugzilla_noreply

Bug ID: 468980
Summary: Digikam and Showfoto interface becomes buggy/broken
after opening/closing settings page on Fedora (On
Flatpack and AppImage, and only ShowFoto on RPM)
Classification: Applications
   Product: digikam
   Version: 8.1.0
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: digikam-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: michael2macdon...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

Created attachment 158428
  --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=158428=edit
Glitchy/Broken image thumbnails view

SUMMARY
After opening Flatpack or AppImage Digikam/Showfoto or RPM Showfoto on Fedora,
the applications work fine. But after you open the configuration/settings
window and then exit the window, the Digikam/ShowPhoto interface becomes
buggy/glitchy/laggy. For example, when opening/closing a menu or scrolling on a
menu or main image area, the interface will not update until you hover over
each individual image or menu item. After hovering your mouse over an item, it
will partially "render", but leave parts of the previous image/view still
showing.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. On Fedora, open the Flatpack or AppImage version of Digikam or Showfoto, or
open the RPM version of ShowFoto
2. Use Digikam/ShowFoto (It works fine)
3. Open the settings/configuration page of Digikam/ShowFoto
4. Close the settings/configuration page of Digikam/ShowFoto
5. Use Digikam/ShowFoto (It does not work; the interface is buggy and laggy)

OBSERVED RESULT
When scrolling or opening sidebars/windows/views/etc, the displayed view on the
screen is not changed until you hover your mouse over a selectable item such as
an image thumbnail or sidebar/menu item. Once you hover over an item, that
item, and that item only, will only partially render/display leaving gaps and
floating text/segments from the previously displayed item (before you
scrolled).

EXPECTED RESULT
Digikam/ShowFoto Works Normally

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Operating System: Fedora Linux 38
KDE Plasma Version: 5.27.4
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.105.0
Qt Version: 5.15.9
Kernel Version: 6.2.12-300.fc38.x86_64 (64-bit)
Graphics Platform: Wayland

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
This was an issue in previous versions of Fedora and Digikam. It does not seem
to be new.

The bug is a forceful exist when an archive is open or generated on Krita. This
being the done as the only operation that is causing this problem. And this is
persistent for all openings of archives from the computer or a new one to use
the program. And it only happens when the option of open is press. It forces
the program to close, that would be the main problem of the bug.

[valgrind] [Bug 468979] New: Add support for RISC-V vector instructions

2023-04-25 Thread JojoR
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=468979

Bug ID: 468979
Summary: Add support for RISC-V vector instructions
Classification: Developer tools
   Product: valgrind
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: vex
  Assignee: jsew...@acm.org
  Reporter: rjie...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

We consider to add RVV/Vector [1] feature in valgrind, there are some
challenges.
RVV like ARM's SVE [2] programming model, it's scalable/VLA, that means the
vector length is agnostic.
ARM's SVE is not supported in valgrind :(

See more details from RFC [3]

Hide redundant header on Wayland

On Wayland where screen recording is supported, the right column has a
tab bar on top with the text "Screenshot" and "Recording" for the tabs.

On each of the tabs, right below that tab bar is a header that says a
wordier version of the same thing, which is rather redundant.

Hide the labels on Wayland when the tab bar is visible.

This works with Firefox (snap) in full screen.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Install Chromium flatpak
2. Open a website and switch to full screen (F11)
3. Try to launch the overview effect (Meta+W); notice that it won't work
4. Exit full screen (F11 again)
5. Launch the overview effect; now it will work

OBSERVED RESULT
With Chromium in full screen mode, the overview effect does not work.

[plasmashell] [Bug 454621] Plasmashell doesn't start on all monitors in a multi xscreen environment

2023-04-25 Thread Allistar
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=454621

My fix as provided in the patch works for me but it's not a good general
purpose fix. I filter out monitors by their serial number as that's unique, but
the only easy way I could find the serial number was to add debugging in the
code to output this from the QScreen instances. This isn't suitable for most
people.

The "Display and Monitor -> Display Configuration" system settings app
correctly only shows monitors from the current xscreen. Another fix would be to
just filter out monitors not in the current xscreen in the screenpool.cpp file.
I looked at the QScreen class and couldn't see an easy way to get this
information. Should QApp::getScreens only provide monitors in the current
xscreen?

As a workaround one could implement the following Dolphin service:

[Desktop Action unmount]
Exec=bash -c 'readarray -t images < <(losetup -nO NAME); [ -n "${images[@]}" ]
&& for item in "${images[@]}"; do udisksctl loop-delete -b "$item"; done '
Icon=edit-clear
Name=Clear ISOs

[Desktop Entry]
Actions=unmount;
Icon=application-x-iso
MimeType=all/all
ServiceTypes=KonqPopupMenu/Plugin
Type=Service
X-KDE-StartupNotify=false

As a benefit you wont have to search for unmounted ISO's.

Has anyone ever found a solution? I'm having the same issue when trying to
access any machine via the FISH protocol. MTP in Dolphin is also broken with my
Android phone.

This all started after I switched from KDE Plasma to AwesomeWM. I removed all
Plasma packages but kept Dolphin and Ark installed. No issue whatsoever before
that.

- Distro: Arch Linux
- kio 5.105.0-1
- kio-extras 23.04.0-1

$ KDE_FORK_SLAVES=1 dolphin
kf.coreaddons: "Could not load plugin from /usr/lib/qt/plugins/ffmpegthumbs.so:

kf.kio.core: Can't communicate with kiod_kpasswdserver (for queryAuthInfo)!
kf.kio.core: "Communication with the local password server failed"

I tried to reinstall Dolphin, kio and kio-extras on my host and remote machines
(all running Arch Linux), to no avail. SSH works as expected and so does adb
(regarding the MTP in Dolphin being broken).

Any insight is appreciated.

[KScreen] [Bug 468971] New: (KDE / NVidia / Wayland) Monitor freezes when another monitor is turned on

2023-04-25 Thread bugzilla_noreply
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=468971

Bug ID: 468971
Summary: (KDE / NVidia / Wayland) Monitor freezes when another
monitor is turned on
Classification: Plasma
   Product: KScreen
   Version: 5.27.4
  Platform: Archlinux
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: crash
  Priority: NOR
 Component: OSD
  Assignee: kscreen-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: nick...@outlook.com
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
I am running into a issue on KDE / NVidia / Wayland where if I turn on a third
monitor, one of my existing monitors freezes up completely (See Video for more
info - https://youtu.be/H2KAJl2yJWI). No windows can be moved, no mouse
movements show up on it, etc. It's like the monitor is completely frozen on a
screenshot of the desktop. When looking into journalctl, it seems like the
process "kscreen_osd_ser" is crashing right around the time the third monitor
is turned on (see in additional information below).

The output of running "coredumpctl info" and "coredumpctl gdb" with debuginfod
is shown in the "Additional Information" section below.

A journalctl log of all the messages since boot is also attached below

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Boot into KDE with nvidia drivers installed and wayland session. Have 1 or 2
monitors already on.
2. Turn on a third screen/monitor
3. One of the screens will freeze up

OBSERVED RESULT
A monitor that is completely frozen. No windows can be moved, and no mouse
movements are visible. It's essentially frozen on a screenshot of the desktop.

EXPECTED RESULT
The monitor is expected not to freeze when another monitor is turned on

Nevermind, I missed that you mentioned it's Neon.

I've had a look at the listed dependencies, and it indeed seems to be missing
kirigami-addons as runtime dep.
I'll open an MR to get that corrected. In the meantime, you should be able to
solve it by manually installing it on your system.

[kstars] [Bug 468969] New: Implement STOP Command in Plate Solve when Camera is Busy

2023-04-25 Thread Bob Miller

Busy

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1.
2.
3.

OBSERVED RESULT
When a Plate Solve is initiated, and the system detects the camera as busy, the
Plate Solve routine goes into a series of waits at 10 sec, 20 sec, 40 sec, etc
etc waiting for the camera to become unbusy. Often times (more like usually)
the camera is not busy. The system thinks the camera is busy, but there is no
apparent indication to the user.

The problem is that, when the Plate Solver starts these delays as the user
searches for why the system thinks the camera is busy, the STOP button is
grayed out! Sometimes the only solution is to quit the session, then restart.

The simple solution would seem to be to let the user STOP the process as soon
as the Plate Solve routine says the camera is busy so the user can find where
the system thinks the camera is busy before the Ekos embarks on a long wait
sequence. One example of where the system thinks the camera is busy when it is
not is the Focus module. If the camera is doing loop capture and the STOP
button is hit in the Focus module, the Plate Solve module will always say the
camera is busy. After hitting STOP when doing Focus looping, run the camera
once in a Single Shot mode. That usually clears the conflict.

[kdevelop] [Bug 468605] auto-correction incorrectly changes dot to arrow in floating-point literals when using uniform initialization

2023-04-25 Thread Alessandro Carinelli
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=468605

Thanks for the help. Unfortunately both clang_getDiagnosticCategoryText and
clang_getDiagnosticSpelling seem to return empty strings in this case (while in
the case of a floating point literal with a leading '.' they are respectively
"Parse Issue" and "expected expression").
I noticed that when reproducing the bug as soon as the '.' gets replaced with
"->" an autocompletion suggestion pops up containing only the name of the
struct and this makes sense with the single completion result provided by
clang.
Only after a while an error shows up saying "Expected unqualified-id". Is it
possible that this lag is the reason why it looks like everything is fine with
the arrow and the program proceeds with the substitution?

I had an idea: after we get trimmedText we move backwards starting from the
character right before the '.' checking every character until we find something
different from a letter (upper or lowercase), an underscore or a digit, in this
way we should find the first character in the identifier or literal that
precedes the '.', if such first character is a digit we know that we are
dealing with a floating point literal and skip the substitution.
I tried it and it seems to work without noticeable performance issues.

So the problem is that you don't have kirigami-addons installed (or it's not
recognized). This package is a dependency of Kasts.

You mentioned that you installed through discover. I'm assuming that it's
installing the distro package. If so, which distribution are you using?
Because they seem to be missing a dependency. This particular one is easy to
miss since it's only a runtime dependency, i.e. the package will compile just
fine without kirigami-addons, but you won't be able to run the app.

Sort of intentional, but probably not ideal. When the user presses a back

[kwin] [Bug 468968] New: Add effect for enlarging mouse pointer when jiggling the mouse

2023-04-25 Thread Neal Gompa
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=468968

Bug ID: 468968
Summary: Add effect for enlarging mouse pointer when jiggling
the mouse
Classification: Plasma
   Product: kwin
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Fedora RPMs
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: wishlist
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: kwin-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: ngomp...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
In macOS, there's an accessibility feature where if you rapidly move the mouse
pointer (colloquially called "jiggling"), it'll automatically enlarge/magnify
the pointer (also overriding any application-centric masking of the cursor too)
so you can see where it is. This is useful if you wind up "losing track" of the
mouse for some reason.

Please consider implementing this in KDE Plasma.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Windows:
macOS:
Linux/KDE Plasma: Fedora Linux 38 (KDE Plasma)
(available in About System)
KDE Plasma Version: 5.27.4
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.104.0
Qt Version: 5.15.8

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
There's also a GNOME extension that does this:
https://extensions.gnome.org/extension/3438/jiggle/

[plasmashell] [Bug 467249] Unwanted popup on login - wayland only

2023-04-25 Thread bugzilla_noreply
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=467249

Please open again. I can reproduce the problem at will.
To invoke the issue, copy an URL ( http:// or file:/// ) into Klipper. For
instance in your browser select the URL and right click on it. Select copy. A
popup appears and it captures the mouse cursor. Everytime you move the cursor a
copy of the menu is produced. The desktop is effectively useless now.

To recover use ctl-alt-del and logout. Log in as root. For the previous user's
account cd to .local/share/klipper and delete history2.lst. Logout and login in
the user's account. Should be good now.

Note: If you try rebooting to clear the problem the next login attempt will
fail. The history must be cleared
Note: If you have clipboard sharing between your desktops with kdeconnect you
could break both.

That looks unrelated; using the AUR version of libquotient with the normal arch

Hi. I realise this isn't actually part of the docs.kdenlive.org site, but I
couldn't find where else to report this! Please direct me elsewhere if
necessary.

The release blog article "Kdenlive 23.04.0 released" at
https://kdenlive.org/en/2023/04/kdenlive-23-04-0-released/ has a few typos:

1, The word "english" should be "English" in three places
2, "Texto" should be "Text" in "Whisper can be used in the Texto to Speech
widget or for generating subtitles."
3, Above the two videos demonstrating the new subtitle cutting feature, both
captions say "Split after first line" when the first should say "Duplicate
text"

Hope this helps :)
