I'm encountering this same issue, I'm running Archlinux which is fully up to
date. I am unable to open files created on the previous version of KDENLive.
When opening a project file, it looks like it successfully loads all of the
clips into the Project Bin, it then asks if I want to rebuild proxies (I tried
deleting the cache for the project). When I click okay, it process for a moment
before dying at 46% on the "Loading Clips" dialogue box. While the Project Bin
is populated, the Project Timeline is completely empty.

[valgrind] [Bug 469146] massif --ignore-fn does not ignore inlined functions

2023-05-01 Thread Carl Love
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=469146

I tried down loading and applying the patch from Paul to the Valgrind mainline.
Head of the tree was:

commit d97fed7c3e4aa7c910dfa0b6c5de12fd6cf08155 (tag: VALGRIND_3_21_0,
origin/master, origin/HEAD)
Author: Mark Wielaard
Date: Fri Apr 28 17:30:04 2023 +0200

-> 3.21.0 final

With the this commit, i.e. no patch, I get the following results from make
regtest on Power 10.

== 714 tests, 2 stderr failures, 0 stdout failures, 0 stderrB failures, 0
stdou\

memcheck/tests/bug340392 (stderr)
memcheck/tests/linux/rfcomm (stderr)
massif/tests/new-cpp (post)
massif/tests/overloaded-new (post)

With the patch for massif to filter_IPs hadles inline functions, I am seeing
new failures on Power 10.

= 714 tests, 2 stderr failures, 0 stdout failures, 0 stderrB failures, 0 stdou\
tB failures, 6 post failures ==

massif/tests/deep-C (post)
massif/tests/deep-D (post)
massif/tests/new-cpp (post)

The diff output for new-cpp looks unchanged from the base run (i.e. no patch).

The diff output for deep-B is as follows:

[digikam] [Bug 469248] New: Digikam XMP Sidecar Format has Changed

2023-05-01 Thread Bravo Baavo
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=469248

Bug ID: 469248
Summary: Digikam XMP Sidecar Format has Changed
Classification: Applications
   Product: digikam
   Version: 8.0.0
  Platform: Ubuntu
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Metadata-Xmp
  Assignee: digikam-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: b4yf823ap56y457945ty4...@protonmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
***
Previously the image name format and sidecar XMP format was:
image.jpg
image.xmp

Since I updated from 7 t 8 it has now changed to:
image.jpg
image.jpg.xmp

While I don't think either is right or wrong, I now need to find a way to
rename 140,000 sidecar files, I would appreciate some method to choose the
format moving forward, or to have both be supported.
***

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Have an image named "image.jpg" and "image.xmp" in Digikam 7.
2. Import Metadata and it will find the accompanying sidecar file correctly.
3. Update to Digikam 8 and add a new "image.jpg" and "image.xmp" duo, Digikam
won't find any accompanying sidecar file.

OBSERVED RESULT
Digikam doesn't detect any XMP sidecar files in this name format.

EXPECTED RESULT
Digikam detects and imports metadata from XMP sidecar files that match the
image name without the extension.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Ubuntu: Ubuntu 22.04.2 LTS x86_64
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.104.0
Qt Version: 5.15.7 (built against 5.15.7)

[valgrind] [Bug 469146] massif --ignore-fn does not ignore inlined functions

2023-05-01 Thread Carl Love
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=469146

Per comment in the Valgrind emailI see what is happening now. The stack in
question is

---
==2756940==at 0x48A4C8C: malloc (vg_replace_malloc.c:431)
==2756940==by 0x58025633: ??? (m_trampoline.S:458)
==2756940==by 0x4007D17: call_init (dl-init.c:70)
==2756940==by 0x4007D17: _dl_init (dl-init.c:117)
==2756940==by 0x40311E7: _dl_start_user (in
/usr/lib/powerpc64-linux-gnu/ld64.so.1)

Note the identical addresses for call_init and _dl_init. I believe that
means that call_init is inlined.

This bit of code in ms_main.c skips over call_init

// top has no fnname => search for the first entry that has a fnname
for (i = *top; i < n_ips && !top_has_fnname; i++) {
  top_has_fnname = VG_(get_fnname)(ep, ips[i], );
}

The workaround is to add _dl_init to the ignore functions.

I tried adding the line

prog: new-cpp
 vgopts: --stacks=no --time-unit=B --massif-out-file=massif.out
 vgopts: --ignore-fn=__part_load_locale --ignore-fn=__time_load_locale
--ignore-fn=dwarf2_unwind_dyld_add_image_hook
+vgopts: --ignore-fn=dl_init

to massif/tests/new-cpp-vgtest, but it did not change the results. Not sure if
I didn't do it correctly?

I'm sorry, I verified the hibernation process with someone on Manjaro forum,
and he clarified that it's not SDDM which appears after waking from
hibernation, it's in fact the plasma lock screen, because waking from
hibernation simply reload what is saved on disk to memory including KDE session
with all its processes and apps, so after typing the password in lock screen it
doesn't trigger any new KDE session but it simply shows the fully loaded
content.

Hi Stephen,

thanks for your report and sorry, you're having trouble. We published a hotfix
release yesterday, which might fix your issue. See
https://kdenlive.org/en/2023/04/23-04-0a-hotfix-release/

Please tell us if the issue still exists with hotfix release. I can promise you
we are working hard to fix remaining bugs introduced by the new nested timeline
feature. If it is essential to you to have the most stable version of Kdenlive
a general recommendation would be to use *.3 (bugfix) release as they are the
most stable ones, while *.0 releases contain new features which are more likely
to introduce regressions that have not been uncovered yet.

Please remember to set the correct bug status when you answer (either back to

The cause is that you have "hidden" images, either through grouping or

versioning enable display of original image and derivative image in digiKam
Settings-> Image Editor-> Versioning. Now you will surely see the corresponding
faces.

I run `coredumpctl --reverse` but there is no entry for the time of the crash.
In System Monitor, I can see `kwalletd5` and `kwalletmanager5` before the
crash, then after the crash only `kwalletd5`.
I have not much space left on my storage, so it seems that install debuginfo is
not an option for me. Is there another way I can get you the info?

[kwin] [Bug 465712] After upgrade to 5.27, periodic visual glitches when monitors' refresh rates don't match

2023-05-01 Thread Jakub Narolewski
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=465712

My HW setup changed a bit recently as my 60 Hz monitor died tragically. I now
run two LG ULTRAGEARs - both capable of 144 Hz.

As soon as I switch Adaptive-Sync to ON in OSD settings of one of the monitors
the flickering returns - even if both of them are set to 144 Hz.
What is interesting is that when I turn Adaptive-Sync ON and then OFF I have to
reboot my PC to get rig of the problem. Easy workaround in my case is to just
turn off Adaptive-Sync to OFF on both monitors.

The situation from the time of original bugreport is also still valid - turning
Adaptive-Sync to ON and setting both of the monitors to 60 Hz also fixes this
situation.

I'm now running Plasma 5.27.4 on up-to-date openSUSE.

[plasmashell] [Bug 469061] Can not pre-configure panel

2023-05-01 Thread bugzilla_noreply
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=469061

--- Comment #3 from y...@masson-informatique.fr ---
I have read
`/usr/share/plasma/layout-templates/org.kde.plasma.desktop.defaultPanel/contents/layout.js`.
It would be interesting to modify it (with the method you describe or another)
to add or remove widgets.

On the other end, how could we modify widgets default settings? For example, as
I said in my original message, how could we:
- add or remove programs in `org.kde.plasma.icontasks`
- disable clipboard by default in `org.kde.plasma.systemtray`

I strongly believe that being able to customize the panel and its widgets is
important for enterprise deployment.

SUMMARY
If a playlist contains +5000 files, and one toggles the "Party mode" Elisa
freezes completely.
I assume this is because it tries to load *all* album covers, instead only the
ones visible to user.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Have a huge music collection
2. Add all tracks from that to a playlist
3. After it's done loading, open party mode

OBSERVED RESULT
Elisa freezes completely

EXPECTED RESULT
Elisa should not freeze. It can be a bit slow but not freeze.

This bug was solved in the last Krusader release (2.8.0). Can you manage to
update to latest version and check if issue happens again?

[digikam] [Bug 466170] Digikam 7.9.0 (and 7.8.0) crashes on startup

2023-05-01 Thread Maik Qualmann

Thanks for the backtrace, the problem in slotEmptyMessageTimer() is known and
was fixed about 5 months ago. We seem to have forgotten the backport to
digiKam-7.x.x when I look at the history. Only with digiKam-8.0.0 will the
problem no longer occur.

[dolphin] [Bug 469240] New: find filter for only current directory not sub-directories

2023-05-01 Thread Ryein Goddard
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=469240

Bug ID: 469240
Summary: find filter for only current directory not
sub-directories
Classification: Applications
   Product: dolphin
   Version: 22.12.3
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: wishlist
  Priority: NOR
 Component: bars: filter
  Assignee: dolphin-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: ry...@live.com
CC: kfm-de...@kde.org
  Target Milestone: ---

If I want to quickly find something in the current directory it would be easier
if I didn't have to weed out things in sub-directories.

When clicking ctrl+f it opens the search bar. I can then type the name of
something I am searching for. It is very fast, but it pulls up unrelated
folders to the current directory I am in, if I am only interested in finding
something in the current directory and not sub-directories. Needs an
additional check box or something for that filter.
