https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=469248 Bug ID: 469248 Summary: Digikam XMP Sidecar Format has Changed Classification: Applications Product: digikam Version: 8.0.0 Platform: Ubuntu OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: Metadata-Xmp Assignee: digikam-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: b4yf823ap56y457945ty4...@protonmail.com Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY *** Previously the image name format and sidecar XMP format was: image.jpg image.xmp Since I updated from 7 t 8 it has now changed to: image.jpg image.jpg.xmp While I don't think either is right or wrong, I now need to find a way to rename 140,000 sidecar files, I would appreciate some method to choose the format moving forward, or to have both be supported. *** STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Have an image named "image.jpg" and "image.xmp" in Digikam 7. 2. Import Metadata and it will find the accompanying sidecar file correctly. 3. Update to Digikam 8 and add a new "image.jpg" and "image.xmp" duo, Digikam won't find any accompanying sidecar file. OBSERVED RESULT Digikam doesn't detect any XMP sidecar files in this name format. EXPECTED RESULT Digikam detects and imports metadata from XMP sidecar files that match the image name without the extension. https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=469146 --- Comment #2 from Carl Love --- Per comment in the Valgrind emailI see what is happening now. The stack in question is --- ==2756940==at 0x48A4C8C: malloc (vg_replace_malloc.c:431) ==2756940==by 0x58025633: ??? (m_trampoline.S:458) ==2756940==by 0x4007D17: call_init (dl-init.c:70) ==2756940==by 0x4007D17: _dl_init (dl-init.c:117) ==2756940==by 0x40311E7: _dl_start_user (in /usr/lib/powerpc64-linux-gnu/ld64.so.1) Note the identical addresses for call_init and _dl_init. I believe that means that call_init is inlined. This bit of code in ms_main.c skips over call_init // top has no fnname => search for the first entry that has a fnname for (i = *top; i < n_ips && !top_has_fnname; i++) { top_has_fnname = VG_(get_fnname)(ep, ips[i], ); } The workaround is to add _dl_init to the ignore functions. I tried adding the line prog: new-cpp vgopts: --stacks=no --time-unit=B --massif-out-file=massif.out vgopts: --ignore-fn=__part_load_locale --ignore-fn=__time_load_locale --ignore-fn=dwarf2_unwind_dyld_add_image_hook +vgopts: --ignore-fn=dl_init to massif/tests/new-cpp-vgtest, but it did not change the results. I'm sorry, I verified the hibernation process with someone on Manjaro forum, and he clarified that it's not SDDM which appears after waking from hibernation, it's in fact the plasma lock screen, because waking from hibernation simply reload what is saved on disk to memory including KDE session with all its processes and apps, so after typing the password in lock screen it doesn't trigger any new KDE session but it simply shows the fully loaded content. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=465712 --- Comment #20 from Jakub Narolewski --- My HW setup changed a bit recently as my 60 Hz monitor died tragically. I now run two LG ULTRAGEARs - both capable of 144 Hz. As soon as I switch Adaptive-Sync to ON in OSD settings of one of the monitors the flickering returns - even if both of them are set to 144 Hz. What is interesting is that when I turn Adaptive-Sync ON and then OFF I have to reboot my PC to get rig of the problem. Easy workaround in my case is to just turn off Adaptive-Sync to OFF on both monitors. The situation from the time of original bugreport is also still valid - turning Adaptive-Sync to ON and setting both of the monitors to 60 Hz also fixes this situation.
