[kaffeine] [Bug 469338] New: Would be appreciated to have a way of adjusting the speed of playback in Kaffeine. It would be even nicer if I could specify a default speed per directory.
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=469338 Bug ID: 469338 Summary: Would be appreciated to have a way of adjusting the speed of playback in Kaffeine. It would be even nicer if I could specify a default speed per directory. Classification: Applications Product: kaffeine Version: unspecified Platform: Ubuntu OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Keywords: usability Severity: wishlist Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: mche...@kernel.org Reporter: garykennethkrue...@gmail.com Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY *** NOTE: If you are reporting a crash, please try to attach a backtrace with debug symbols. See https://community.kde.org/Guidelines_and_HOWTOs/Debugging/How_to_create_useful_crash_reports *** STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Start playing a transport stream video (from tvheadend). 2. Look for any opportunity to adjust the playback speed. 3. OBSERVED RESULT There are apparently no options for specifying a playback speed. EXPECTED RESULT Some sort of option(s) for adjusting playback speed. Keyboard shortcuts and menu options would be adequate. DESIRED RESULT It would be really nice if I could specify default playback speeds based upon source directory. I like to watch most news programs at 1.5x normal speed. It is a lot more interesting that way. I like to watch entertainment programs at 1.0x normal speed. I like to see them the way they were intended. I like to watch documentaries and political programs at 1.5x normal speed, but sometimes like to watch it at a slower speed where it is too easy to miss important information. It would seem that the most straightforward way to have per directory playback defaults would be to present a table of directories and default playback speeds (and possibly a recursive option). Have current directory (".") and home ("$HOME") already specified with a playback speed of 1.0x. Allow users to change those defaults or to add more. Add keyboard shortcuts and menu options for faster, slower, and 1.0x speeds. Options that could be used for those 3 options as keyboard shortcuts: faster slower 1.0x = = + - = [ ] . or = up down . or = SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Windows: macOS: Linux/KDE Plasma: Ubuntu 20.04.6 LTS (available in About System) KDE Plasma Version: KDE Frameworks Version: Qt Version: ADDITIONAL INFORMATION I believe I've covered it adequately. [wacomtablet] [Bug 469334] New: [Feature request] Add option for palm rejection on Wacom/ELAN Touchscreen
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=469334 Bug ID: 469334 Summary: [Feature request] Add option for palm rejection on Wacom/ELAN Touchscreen Classification: Plasma Product: wacomtablet Version: 3.2.0 Platform: openSUSE OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: jazzv...@gmail.com Reporter: bugtrac...@fischbytes.de Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY This applies to the ThinkPad 20CD which uses a weird setup of touchscreens. I was able to make palm rejection work by using a script found at https://github.com/olofmogren/palmreject and the built-in palm rejections of Krita and Xournal++ also work just fine, however when using something like OneNote Web it won't due to the lack of software-level palm detection. It would be to have a GUI interface that disables the finger-detecting portion of the touchscreen when pen input is being done. For better explanation of my situation, I have attached the output of xinput: ↳ ELAN Touchscreen id=9[slave pointer (2)] ↳ Wacom ISDv4 EC Pen stylus id=11 [slave pointer (2)] ↳ Wacom ISDv4 EC Pen eraser id=16 [slave pointer (2)] STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Own affected model (e.g. ThinkPad YOGA 20CD) 2. Try to use something like OneNote Web 3. See how your palm makes the drawing iffy OBSERVED RESULT Palm rejection doesn't work. EXPECTED RESULT Palm rejection works. [plasmashell] [Bug 448234] Usage of Qt SVG renderer causes some 3rd-party app icons to be mis-rendered
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=448234 --- Comment #14 from Adam Fontenot --- I haven't investigated beyond this, but a quick test with Qt 6.5.0 on my system shows that clip paths don't seem to be working yet. The code that dofficialgman linked is supposed to be present in that version. It looks like they've only implemented clip path support in the SVG *generator*, not the renderer, as of this version. Here's a trivial test if you have eye of gnome installed (path to the icon is possibly Arch Linux specific). from PyQt6.QtGui import QPixmap from PyQt6.QtWidgets import QApplication, QMessageBox, QLabel app = QApplication([]) msg = QMessageBox() pixmap = QPixmap("/usr/share/icons/hicolor/scalable/apps/org.gnome.eog.svg") label = QLabel() label.setPixmap(pixmap) msg.layout().addWidget(label) msg.exec() Something else worth mentioning... I know this bug is about icon rendering specifically and we have bugs for the other issues. However, unless we bifurcate SVG handling in KDE, then Plasma, the system thumbnailer, and end user applications like Gwenview will all use the same library. Maybe we could do a survey of large public icon sets and decide that QSvg with clip path support is sufficient for icons, but a user might want to open a much wider variety of SVGs in Gwenview. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

Thank you for collecting these commits. I am working on a repository similar to these: + https://github.com/ectorepo/tensorflow + https://github.com/ectorepo/ROCmSoftwarePlatform The placeholder is here, but I've been busy for awhile: + https://github.com/ectorepo/kde This will allow me to clone all of the projects on invent.kde.org, which should be finished soon. I should be able to extract the information I need from GraphQL that allows me to check the projects into a file tree based on their category/project or something. I usually use this approach to keep large codebases in sync where the codebases are intended for reference only. After running `repo init` and `repo sync`, then everything is up-to-date. The sync command can specify projects by "group" which functions like a tag. I don't know that I will have the time to work on anything. It just depends, perhaps in the next few months or so. > We have this; check out `kreadconfig5` and kwriteconfig5`. > > *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 397602 *** I will look into those. [digikam] [Bug 459279] Contributing to print creator templates.
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=459279 --- Comment #3 from fot...@ernst-buerjes.de --- Hi Gilles, thank you for this information. But I believe that in the description is a mistake. I could not find the documentation of the templates under ||/usr/share/apps/digikam/templates/|.|I found it under |/usr/share/digikam/templates/.| Another Question: I am missing an element "text" to define position, size, color, density and contents of a photo. The contents should refer to the description, title and other metadata of the Photo as the menu of print-creator does. Print-creator works, but it doesn't work well because it puts the text into the photo - not under, beside or above it. And to find the right size forces many experiments. See https://community.kde.org/Guidelines_and_HOWTOs/Debugging/How_to_create_useful_crash_reports *** Here's a video that shows my issue I'll explain below: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=18wVcRhxOsc When dragging a section of a clip from the clip preview into my timeline, a different part of the clip is added. In the example video above, I drag in the section of my source clip starting at around 3:32, but then the section of the clip around 7:20 appears in the timeline. Same thing happens for other clips in my project, but not all of them, despite all of them being recorded the same way (mkv files from OBS). I checked under Edit Duration, and the Start Crop for the clip is 00:03:32:40, which checks out. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Start a new project, add the clip (attempted to attach but it's 500+ MB) to the clip library 2. Open the clip in the Clip Monitor, then select an in and out point somewhere in the middle of the video 3. Drag the clip into the timeline OBSERVED RESULT A different section of the clip is added to the timeline EXPECTED RESULT The selected section of the clip should be in the timeline SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Windows: 21H2, build 19044.2846 macOS: Linux/KDE Plasma: (available in About System) KDE Plasma Version: KDE Frameworks Version: Version 5.105.0 Qt Version: Version 5.15.9 (built against 5.15.9) ADDITIONAL INFORMATION - Tried on latest stable (23.04.0), as well as the latest build at the time of me finding this (23.07.70 (rev. 312e16117)), same results -Tried with and without the proxy clip, as well as deleting and recreating the proxy clip, same thing happens -The issue is consistently reproducible if I start a blank project, import that clip, and drag a section into the timeline. [plasmashell] [Bug 448234] Usage of Qt SVG renderer causes some 3rd-party app icons to be mis-rendered
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=448234 Harald Sitter changed: What|Removed |Added CC||sit...@kde.org --- Comment #13 from Harald Sitter --- Qt SVG just needs improving really. There are various bug reports upstream about that and Qt maintainers also seem to agree with the general sentiment. That can ultimately mean basing it on another library behind the scenes. But, qtsvg is acting as a good abstraction for us here and we don't really need to throw the baby out with the bath water. IOW: the effort for improvement ought to be directed at Qt, not plasma/kde software specifically, as that would mean even more work in having to port everything away from qtsvg and adopting whatever other library, when we could just put forth a proposal to have qtsvg be based on that library. Now that being so that leaves us with a status quo where the user may not get all icons rendered correctly. That problem is indeed independent from the qtsvg being insufficient problem. e.g. librsvg also doesn't support everything the SVG spec does, so even there you can run afoul of the software. The solution I'd like to propose for that is to walk all icons and check their used xml tags. If we can maintain a fairly comprehensive list of supported tags we can then detect unsupported tags and notify the user about just how unsupported this theme is and tell them that they may be better off using another theme. They can still choose to use the theme, but they at least know about graphical glitches being expected. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

See https://community.kde.org/Guidelines_and_HOWTOs/Debugging/How_to_create_useful_crash_reports *** I have a touch screen laptop (HP x360 14a chromebook (blooguard)) running Kubuntu 23.04. The keyboard can be flipped, and the laptop automatically moves into tablet mode. In the tablet mode, the screen automatically rotates (and changes orientation) if I rotate the laptop, but the camera does not rotate. In ChromeOS (which I am dual booting with Kubuntu), the camera also rotates if I rotate the screen. STEPS TO REPRODUCE Rotate the screen in a touch screen laptop running KDE Plasma in tablet-mode. OBSERVED RESULT The camera output does not rotate. EXPECTED RESULT The camera output in apps like Kamoso should rotate when the screen auto-rotates. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS KDE Plasma Version: 5.27.4 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.104.0 Qt Version: 5.15.8 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[kwin] [Bug 466238] Exiting full screen video playback with on a multi-monitor setup causes a freeze
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=466238 --- Comment #32 from Rune --- (In reply to Zamundaaa from comment #31) > Can you describe the flicker in more detail? With > KWIN_DRM_NO_DIRECT_SCANOUT=1 set, there should be no difference for native > Wayland apps vs windowed, at least on the KWin and driver side. The "flickering" starts at the upper edge of the screen, it is a multi-colored bar (whole width of the screen) that flickers and sometimes travels down the screen while flickering. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[dolphin] [Bug 469190] Common samba share connection bug
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=469190 --- Comment #2 from Michel Brabants --- I have the same issue (normally bug report should be attached, but it keeps spinning). Each time after successfull smb authentication to truenas smb share from kde neon, dolphin crashes. When I restart dolphon I'm authenticated and I can browse the share, but the flow is very annoying as dolphin crashes. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
