[digikam] [Bug 391627] Select to run Face Detection, process indicator stets to increase. Some time later return to find computer has crashed and needs power off reset.
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=391627 --- Comment #11 from Bob Fearnley --- Hi Gilles, It has taken me a long time to get updated to Mint 20.2, I had lots of difficulties and finally had to do a clean install. Everything is now reinstalled and I have been able to test the original fault with DigiKam. I have run this test: 1.Scan collection for faces 2. Detect Faces 3. Whole album collection 4. Skip images already scanned 5. Fast Accurate =100% 6. Work on all processors 7. Run detection Digikam runs to the end of the job and completes correctly. Many thanks, Bob -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=391627 --- Comment #10 from Bob Fearnley --- Thank you Gilles, Now I have a good idea what to do! I am running Mint 19.3 with the latest kernel: 5.4.0-97 so I guess I have to upgrade to Mint 20.x if I want to run Digikam 7.6. Thanks again, Bob -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=391627 --- Comment #8 from Bob Fearnley --- OK, I made the V7.6 file Executable and run it, got lots of errors: digikam: /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libc.so.6: version `GLIBC_2.28' not found digikam: /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libm.so.6: version `GLIBC_2.29' not found I tried to install these but get: E: Unable to locate package GLIBC_2.28 E: Couldn't find any package by glob 'GLIBC_2.28' E: Couldn't find any package by regex 'GLIBC_2.28' E: Unable to locate package GLIBC_2.28 E: Couldn't find any package by glob 'GLIBC_2.28' E: Couldn't find any package by regex 'GLIBC_2.28' -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=391627 --- Comment #6 from Bob Fearnley --- I have uninstalled both V6 and V7.5 because V7.5 would not run after V6 was uninstalled. Have tried a Snap install - does not run. Have tried an Appimage install of V7.5 from your website. I have the file in a folder and it is marked as Executable. Click on it - nothing happens. What have I done wrong? Thanks for your help. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=391627 --- Comment #4 from Bob Fearnley --- Hello, I find I am running V7.5 and I also have V6.0 installed :-( Can you advise how to uninstall the V6.0 copy? I have searched but cannot find a way to o it. I will then test again using V7.5 Many thanks. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[digikam] [Bug 391671] Face recognition fails giving a lot of addition effort to correct the errors.
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=391671 --- Comment #5 from Bob Fearnley --- I have removed the recognition db and re-run the scan but I am still puzzled by the results. In trying to name the face images I am wondering about the blue '+' and red 'x' symbols in the dialog. The red x means "not a face" but what does the blue + mean? -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=391671 --- Comment #3 from Bob Fearnley --- I have tried it but the results are inconclusive so I think I need to delete the recognition database - how can I do that? I had the options selected as in the attached image: Work on all processor cores Clear and rebuild training data Even doing that I had some very strange results. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[digikam] [Bug 391671] New: Face recognition fails giving a lot of addition effort to correct the errors.
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=391671 Bug ID: 391671 Summary: Face recognition fails giving a lot of addition effort to correct the errors. Product: digikam Version: 5.9.0 Platform: Mint (Debian based) OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: Faces-Recognition Assignee: digikam-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: elect...@fearnleys.org.uk Target Milestone: --- It appears that during automatic recognition the default for unrecognised faces is to put in one of two others from those already tagged. In my case this means that any face not recognised (whether male or female, colour or black and white image) is labelled either Chris Fearnley or Julie Burford. This happened on well over one hundred faces requiring manual correction. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=391627 --- Comment #2 from Bob Fearnley <elect...@fearnleys.org.uk> --- Tried V 5.9.0 as suggested. Scanning now works OK. But manual face naming, editing and auto face recognition are a disaster! Features that worked perfectly in V4.12 are now simply rubbish. I am building a list of problems and will submit as a bug under V5.9. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
