Is it? I have been doing this for a long time and I have never seen a "weather applet." I live in Jacksonville, FL, the state's largest city. Up to now, I have configured the weather widget to use Jacksonville International Airport (NOAA). It worked just fine up until today. IT HAS BEEN REMOVED from the application. I now have two choices: 1. wetter.com which does not display the temperature and is thus useless. 2. BBC which is profoundly inaccurate and is without many details and forecast information. Utterly useless. I need JAX-NOAA back! I find it hard to believe that in 2024 I cannot get an accurate understanding of weather on my screen. I do not have gnome installed but, apparently, its weather widget works. BTW, this bug reporting system is going to drive a newbie crazy. Some genius removed version information from "about KDE" in applications. "About system" is MEANINGLESS without adding "from Info Center." Moreover, exactly who decided that you can no longer add widgets with a right click on the desktop? Now you have to do so through "enter edit mode" which, by the way, interferes with some widgets if left open. (Using FCITX5 and IMPanel) define multiple input method groups/keyboards. For example Default, Chinese, Canadian, etc with appropriate keyboards and input methods in each category. 2. Ensure hotkeys are set to switch between keyboard layouts and input method groups. 3. After ensuring that multilingual input is working, trigger lock screen either by pressing hotkey or waiting for inactivity lock. 4. Note that there is no indicator to indicate current keyboard layout. Note also that the hotkey to switch language groups has no effect. 5. If you are now locked out because of not being able to enter your password, switch VTs and execute "loginctl; loginctl unlock-session n" where n is the session number show in the output of loginctl. OBSERVED RESULT There is no way to enter password in the lock screen if it was triggered while a different keyboard is selected via FCITX/IMPanel EXPECTED RESULT At the very least, KScreenLocker should assert the system keyboard layout, since that is the one that would likely have been used to enter the login password. Ideally, full input-method support should be available in the login and lock screens. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Linux/KDE Plasma: Debian/KDE KDE Plasma Version: 5.27.5 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.103.0 Qt Version: 5.15.8 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION This was not tried on the latest version of KDE, so if there is now input method support in the lock screen, please forgive me for wasting your time. :( However, as this bug exists on my main workstation which is the latest stable Debian, I felt it was worth making this report. [kscreenlocker] [Bug 468181] X11: some french accentuated characters are not possible
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=468181 David changed: What|Removed |Added CC||solbez...@riseup.net --- Comment #10 from David --- *TL;DR: If deadkeys don't work, it's probably because KDE/Qt is looking for a UTF-8 encoding but X11 is assuming your encoding is a LatinN or other native character set. See end for fix* This is a general observation about non-funcitoning deadkeys, and may or may not be applicable to this particular bug report. I used to have this problem with deadkeys all the time. My system language is Esperanto and I use the Canadian Multilingual (CSA) keyboard. Over the years, I have found out that when deadkeys don't work, it is usually because of mismatched language/locale/encoding assumptions between different layers of software. (I am using Debian with KDE) KDE/Qt language settings assume your system is UTF-8 and define environment variables without encodings, for example `LANG=fr_CA` instead of `LANG=fr_CA.UTF-8` or `LANG=fr_CA.iso8859-1`. Type `locale` in Konsole to verify. X11, which gets the keyboard before Qt does, has different behaviours as defined in /usr/share/X11/locale/locale.dir and other places. For Esperanto, this file needs to be edited and re-edited every time X11 is updated. Debian, which defines what the system locale is to be before X11 ever starts, also has different behaviours. Debian uses `/etc/default/locale` to define the system's default locale, but often leaves the encoding up to assumption the same way as KDE does. It defines which locales are to be supported via `/usr/share/i18n/SUPPORTED`. According to this file languages specified without encoding default to native encodings like Latin1 etc. The Fix: Don't EVER use KDE's language settings KCM. Or, maybe just use it once to create a template `.config/plasma-localerc`. You should directly edit $XDG_CONFIG_HOME/plasma-localerc to make sure that it specifies UTF-8. Make sure that `/etc/default/locale` also does not leave encoding to assumption. This won't have much effect on KDE, but it does affect keyboard behaviour on your virtual terminals, so keep things consistent. Also, for old-school X11 applications like XTerm and Emacs, consistency demands that `/usr/share/X11/locale/*` also be reviewed and possibly edited for consistency with a UTF-8 only system. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

A client could delete an offer after drop before calling finish. This can happen with misbehaving/buggy or malicious Wayland clients. A real case was found in the wild with Chromium, as described in the linked bug. In this situation we should let the source know the dnd is finished as there are no other transfers than can take place. https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=447989 --- Comment #8 from David Benjamin --- (In reply to Paul Floyd from comment #7) > I think that in this case I would just add sha512 tests to > none/tests/fp_and_simd (or fp_and_simd_v82 - I'm not sure what the minimum > version is for sha512). > > Otherwise I just added a section to README_DEVELOPERS on writing regression > tests. Ah, perfect! Thanks, that's all really helpful! I think I've gotten the start of it working. A couple questions before I finish this up: Regarding the generating the expected files by running the test, I assume those just record what my patch does. I.e. if my patch were wrong, the wrong things would get recorded in expectations. I've run my test against BoringSSL's use of these instructions, so I'm fairly confident it's correct. But it seems to me we can do better: just synthesize the expected output by running the instructions directly, without involving valgrind at all. I don't suppose this exists? (If not, no big deal. Like I said, I've already manually tested this against BoringSSL.) Regarding where to put the tests, these are indeed Armv8.2 instructions, but I noticed fp_and_simd_v82's prerequisite is actually the fphp (floating point half-precision) extension. These instructions are from a separate extension. My test device happens to have both but, in principle, they're orthogonal. Should I still put them in fp_and_simd_v82 or make a new one? I'm guessing a new one would be preferable, though this would get pretty large fast. Arm, alas, has lots and lots of extensions. E.g. I noticed that the Armv8.0 cryptography instructions are just in the plain fp_and_simd test, with no prereq, but not all Armv8.0 chips have those instructions. (It's pretty rare to omit them, but I think the Raspberry Pis don't?) If I make a new one, should I just copy all the various helper macros at the top of that file, or try to extract them somewhere? Seems they're in a few places already. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

Committed on 10/05/2024 at 14:35. Pushed by davidedmundson into branch 'master'. Reconnect Pipewire on Failure Our connection to pipewire can go down if the pipewire service restarts, it's on us to tear down and reconnect. To ensure Streams can tear down on their own properly, this patch leaves existing streams with a defunct connection and creates a new connection for new streams, sharing the connection between them. This also implicitly fixes the case for distributions without working socket activation.
