After having reinstalled openSUSE Leap 15.5 the no-delay-problem had gone a few
days, but after having modified a few settings it is back again. WITHOUT DELAY
= DELAY OF 1 TO 3 SECONDS

Region" and the rest like in the screenshots.
3. Exit Spectacle
4. Start Spectacle again

OBSERVED RESULT
It takes 1 to 3 seconds until the last marked region is active.

EXPECTED RESULT
The last marked region should be immediately without any delay visible like it
was after the new installed Leap 15.5.

1. Thank you, that you destroyed Plasma-Systemmonitor, too, after having
Spectacle already destroyed before.
2. Ever heard of "never touch a running system"?
3. Plasma-Systemmonitor is now awkward and confusing. The maximum memory is no
longer displayed, only the used. Instead of quickly enable columns in the
process table, you have to open a separate window. Instead of choosing a width
for Plasma-Systemmonitor, there is now a minimum width.
Really, I'm waiting for the day a "powered by MicroSchrott" is visible as

[Spectacle] [Bug 461396] New: Spectacle destroyed - again

2022-11-03 Thread Hubert Kaschulke
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=461396

Bug ID: 461396
   Summary: Spectacle destroyed - again
Classification: Applications
   Product: Spectacle
   Version: 21.12.3
  Platform: OpenSUSE
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: General
  Assignee: m...@baloneygeek.com
  Reporter: peterm.el...@yahoo.de
CC: k...@david-redondo.de
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY

Problem 1: With setting "Without delay" and "on click" not checked nothing
happens on click, you have to activate the "on click" checkbox.
Problem 2: After click you see just the mouse cross somewhere on the screen
hair instead the last marked area. You have to click the cross hair to see the
last marked area.

In short: Sorry to say, but you have destroyed Spectacle, again. It was an
intuitive application. Now it's crap.

Wish 1: last image size and position as default would be fine.

Sometimes you make hard copies from videos for example, and in this version you
have always to set image size and position new again and again.

Wish 2: Visible SAVE button with last path as default

Created attachment 108217
  --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=108217=edit
Notebook image is wrong, CPU image is correct

Icons show not always but often the wrong image, probably of a former file with
the same name.

When I use Gwenview something other is often shown.

Now, while I'm about to make a hard copy for an attachment a see the problem:
The image seems to be dependent of the size shown, i. e. if I have a small icon
it's more often wrong, if it's larger it is correct, at least in this case.

See attachment: Notebook image is wrong, CPU image is correct.

--- Comment #4 from Hubert Kaschulke <peterm.el...@yahoo.de> ---
No difference after removing repository AMD/ATI Graphics Drivers.

With IceWM desktop it is possible to set graphics resolution to 1920x1200 and
1400x1050 and commit but after shutting down and restarting the system with
IceWM desktop a low resolution appears again.

2016-06-29 Thread Hubert Kaschulke via KDE Bugzilla

Bug ID: 364917
Summary: 2. Monitor synchronization of first user fails; second
user is okay
   Product: kde
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: openSUSE RPMs
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: unassigned-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: peterm.el...@yahoo.de

After booting, second monitor is recognized and correctly synchronized.
1. monitor: 1400 x 1050px
2. monitor: 1920 x 1200px
After entering user password and pressing ENTER synchronization of 2. monitor
fails and main notebook monitor is not available anymore.
-
Booting with a second account shows no problems.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. boot system
2. choose main (first) user
3. enter password
4. press enter key

Actual Results:
synchronization of any external monitor fails (I have a second one which fails,
too)

Expected Results:
synchronization of external monitor should not fail

This problem existed some months ago and disappeared then.
Automatic login (without entering password) helped some time but not anymore.

[Touchpad-KCM] [Bug 364363] New: Touchpad after restart not disabled when mouse is connected

2016-06-15 Thread Hubert Kaschulke via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=364363

Bug ID: 364363
Summary: Touchpad after restart not disabled when mouse is
connected
   Product: Touchpad-KCM
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: openSUSE RPMs
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: plasma-applet
  Assignee: rajeeshknamb...@gmail.com
  Reporter: peterm.el...@yahoo.de

Systemeinstellungen -> Touchpad -> Touchpad ein-/ausschalten -> Touchpad
abschalten, wenn eine Maus angeschlossen ist
(as I use a German version it might be: system settings -> touchpad -> touchpad
turn on/off -> touchpad turn off, when mouse is connected)
If this parameter is set to true the system forgets it after restarting, but
when you are going to set it "again" it remembers and gives a short message
that it set it.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Set system settings -> touchpad -> touchpad turn on/off -> touchpad turn
off, when mouse is connected to true
2. restart
3. touchpad is enabled
4. go to Set system settings -> touchpad -> touchpad turn on/off
5. expect a message, that the system now will disable the touchpad although it
should have already been disabled.

Actual Results:
touchpad enabled

Expected Results:
touchpad not enabled

KDE-Plasma-Version: 5.5.5
Qt-Version: 5.5.1
Kernel-Version: 4.1.21-14-default
Linux: openSuse "Leap" 42.1

For your understanding: I'm not a Linux expert, I'm just another stupid Linux
user who wants to help. I don't know which component causes the problem,
because I didn't design KDE, you know. So I choose "plasma-applet" but could be
"daemon" ior "kcm" as well because I don't know what plasma-applet, daemon and
kcm do.

And this https://bugs.kde.org/describecomponents.cgi?product=Touchpad-KCM does
not really help:
daemon - Bugs relating to the Daemon component
kcm - Bugs relating to the control module
plasma-applet - Bugs relating to the Plasma applet
Who thinks up something like this?

Desktop -> desktop folder (top left with home link etc.) -> mouse right click
-> go to "property" item without click! -> desktop folder disappears
--
Right mouse click on one of the links in the desktop folder (top left), then
choose "property" item (last) but without clicking on it and the desktop folder
crashes and Plasma error tool appears (but error reporting not possible due to
a problem with installation of debug package)

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Desktop visible with desktop folder top left
2. Richt mouse click on one of the links
3. go to "property" item but without click

Actual Results:
4. wait for crash of "desktop" folder

Expected Results:
4. NO crash of "desktop" folder and show properties

openSuse LEAP 42.1

PS: Folks, "First, you must pick a product on which to enter a bug". What you
are doing is to urge normal users like me who want's to get his car fixed to
tell exports before which modul of the car caused the error. Do you understand,
I'm just a user and not a KDE software architect. After searching 5 minutes or
so I had to gave up. Please change this routine, or at least offer a "I don't
know the product/modul KDE should decide based on the description of the
problem".
