Kate should be listed here. SUMMARY On macOS, Kate does not declare which file types it supports. The result is that it does not appear in the "Open with" menu (see attachment) of files that it supports, so it needs to be manually selected from the Applications folder, which of course is a lot more cumbersome and time-consuming. According to this https://stackoverflow.com/questions/19693311/associating-a-file-extension-with-my-application file types can be declared in `info.plist` STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=312987 --- Comment #3 from Jan Przybylak --- I think it should immediately ask for the password again after a failed connection attempt, instead of stubbornly trying again until the server mistakes it for a bot. [dolphin] [Bug 312987] Add "Login As" context menu entry when browsing FTP
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=312987 Jan Przybylak changed: What|Removed |Added CC||jplx...@gmail.com --- Comment #2 from Jan Przybylak --- I can confirm that this happens with SFTP as well and it's very annoying. I just accidentally entered the password for different key than the one that corresponds to the server I wanted to connect to (my .ssh/config specifies the correct key). The connections obviously fails and Dolphin reports a timeout. The server's logs show that it tried to connect using multiple keys (which are all wrong but can the unlocked with the password I gave), then my IP got banned for too many failed logins. This also means that it doesn't honour the `IdentityFile` property given in .ssh/config. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

I tried changing the default file manager to something else and back to Dolphin, which didn't work. https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=396087 Jan Przybylak changed: What|Removed |Added CC||jplx...@gmail.com --- Comment #10 from Jan Przybylak --- I can confirm this issue as well. When zooming in on a 4.7MiB, 2-page PDF containing a large bitmap image (it's a scan), everything becomes pixelated and stops loading. Okular's memory usage went up to over a gigabyte, with about 25% CPU usage as well. It also spawned a second process which was stuck at ~25% and didn't stop when I closed the window. Running Okular from the terminal reveals that it somehow runs out of memory: org.kde.okular.core: Running out of memory on page 1 (17333x25160 px); This does not happen in other PDF readers like Xreader and Evince, which allow me to zoom in and move around all I want. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[kscreenlocker] [Bug 412527] New: KScreenlocker gets confused when changin displays
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=412527 Bug ID: 412527 Summary: KScreenlocker gets confused when changin displays Product: kscreenlocker Version: unspecified Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org Reporter: jplx...@gmail.com CC: bhus...@gmail.com Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY It seems that KScreenlocker only queries the display resolution once at lock time and never again. It doesn't matter if the display changes while KScreenlocker is shown or the device is on standby (where all screens are off) Example: I lock my laptop while an external display is connected an acting as the primary display, so KScreenlocker adjusts to that displays resolution. If I then unplug that display to switch to the laptop's internal one, KScreenlocker moves to the internal display too, which is correct of course. However, it doesn't adjust to the new, lower resolution so only the top left corner will be visible. Something similar happens when switching from a smaller to a bigger display, where KScreenlocker will be too small. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Lock screen while using a big display 2. Switch to smaller display OBSERVED RESULT KScreenlocker doesn't adjust to the new resolution EXPECTED RESULT KScreenlocker does adjust to the new resolution -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[plasmashell] [Bug 412292] New: Hidden panel appears too quickly
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=412292 Bug ID: 412292 Summary: Hidden panel appears too quickly Product: plasmashell Version: 5.16.5 Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: Panel Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org Reporter: jplx...@gmail.com Target Milestone: 1.0 SUMMARY I've set my bottom panel so that it can be covered by windows. I don't want it to waste space when I'm using a maximized window. What then happens is that when I and try to access something at the bottom of the current window, I will accidentally hit the mouse pointer against the bottom of the screen. The panel appears, covers what I wanted to reach and takes a while to disappear again. It's probably just a second, but it feels like ages, which is very annoying when I quickly want to do something. I suggest a tiny delay, maybe with a setting, to prevent the panel from being displayed when the user just accidentally hits the bottom of the screen. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Set panel to autohide/be covered by windows 2. Accidentally hit bottom of screen, immeadiately moving the mouse somewhere else. 3. Panel appears OBSERVED RESULT I accidentally make the panel appear when I didn't want to EXPECTED RESULT The panel only appears when I deliberately move the mouse to the bottom edge of the screen. Therefore, in the combined search/addres bar, a string with a dot will not be send to a search engine, it tries to open the page instead (which of course doesn't exist in this case) STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Enter something.something into the search/address bar 2. Press enter OBSERVED RESULT Falkon will try to load a page that does not exist. EXPECTED RESULT Falkon recognises that the letters after the dot are not a valid TLD and therefore treats the string like a regular search query. https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=401649 Bug ID: 401649 Summary: Mount network shares like external hard drives to make them accessible by everything Product: frameworks-kio Version: unspecified Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: fa...@kde.org Reporter: jplx...@gmail.com CC: kdelibs-b...@kde.org Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY Network shares that are accessed via KIO (for example an SMB server accessed through Dolphin) can only be accessed by applications that support KIO. However, many, including Konsole and many GTK apps, do not support KIO and therefore are not able to access files on these shares, requiring them to be copied to the local disk manually (and back to the server if they were edited). Mounting network shares like external hard drives would make them accessible to every application and thus enhancing the user experience significantly.
