https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=439569 Bug ID: 439569 Summary: SMART: Healthy drive with ABRT error log records leads to warning about possible hard drive malfunction Product: plasma-disks Version: unspecified Platform: Archlinux Packages OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org Reporter: steffen.k...@gmail.com CC: sit...@kde.org Target Milestone: --- Created attachment 139906 --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=139906=edit KDE Partition Manager: SMART Status Report SUMMARY The plasma-disks component reports a hard drive SMART problem as a notification. The smart reports show that the device is "healthy". The plasma-disks modules reports that "the SMART firmware is not reporting a failure, but there are early signs of malfunction. [...]". The reason is: "The device error log contains records of errors." The error log entries are of type "Error: ABRT" due to an aborted off-line test. This is not an indicator for imminent device failure. See attached "smart_status.htm" for KDE's smart report and "smart_errorlog.txt" for SMART error log reported by smartctl. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Have a drive with "healthy status and "ABRT" errors in SMART error log OBSERVED RESULT Notification with warning of possible hard drive malfunction appears when starting the KDE session. Plasma-disks modules reports "the SMART firmware is not reporting a failure, but there are early signs of malfunction. [...]". with reason "the device error log contains records of errors". EXPECTED RESULT I do not expect a notification about possible hard drive malfunction if a drive has a reported smart status "healthy" and contains only errors regarding an aborted off-line test. [latte-dock] [Bug 403104] New: Dragging a window from the panel breaks autohide behaviour
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=403104 Bug ID: 403104 Summary: Dragging a window from the panel breaks autohide behaviour Product: latte-dock Version: git (master) Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: application Assignee: mvourla...@gmail.com Reporter: tarding...@googlemail.com Target Milestone: --- Currently, when dragging a window from the panel to move it, it breaks the autohide behaviour of active docks/panels in two different ways. 1. If the panel the window is dragged from is set to autohide it does not hide after the mouse left it while dragging the window. 2. After dragging a window from a panel, the first attempt to show a currently hidden panel by moving to the mouse to corresponding screen edge fails. This does not seem to happen if the cursor entered another panel first after the initial dragging. All these bugs happened on X11 and while I tried to do some Wayland testing, where I felt like these problems did not occur, I cannot reliably test Wayland on my system. I made some changes to fix this behaviour. They work for me, but since I do not usually write code, they probably do not look great. Running Kubuntu 17.10 with latest backports (akonadi version: 4:17.04.3-0ubuntu1) All data which are on the caldav and carddav server are not shown in both programs. The stutter can be observed both on my desktop using the NVIDIA blob and on my Ivy Bridge laptop using the free Intel driver. If I recall correctly, I observed similar issues on an AMD card but I can not test this anymore since I do not have the card anymore. Forcing double buffering with KWIN_TRIPLE_BUFFER=0 seems to fix the problems. Another workaround is to set MaxFPS and RefreshRate to 70. The problem affects both OpenGL with GLX and OpenGL ES using EGL. Steps to reproduce: 1. Start kwin_x11 with KWIN_TRIPLE_BUFFER=1 2. Start glxgears 3. [sieveeditor] [Bug 370239] New: CRAM-MD5 authentication does not work
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=370239 Bug ID: 370239 Summary: CRAM-MD5 authentication does not work Product: sieveeditor Version: unspecified Platform: Fedora RPMs OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: mon...@kde.org Reporter: stef...@as-lehmann.de The CRAM-MD5 authentication mechanism calculates wrong digest, so it cannot be used for authentication. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Take the example user name and password from RFC 2195, and configure it in KSieve, using CRAM-MD5 authentication and a sieve server of your choice: Username: tim Password: tanstaaftanstaaf 2. When receiving the challenge from server, change it in your code for testing to the one as in this RFC before calculating the response: Challenge: <1896.697170...@postoffice.reston.mci.net> 3. Look at the digest sent by KSieve. The calculated digest by KSieve is different from the one in this RFC! It must be b913a602c7eda7a495b4e6e7334d3890. Actual Results: Log in using CRAM-MD5 is not possible. The server sends an error response, but no visible indication about any problem is given by the GUI. Expected Results: Calculate the correct digest. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

(pkill plasmashell from konsole) > what does it look like when restarting plasmashell afterwards? > > another thing: do those "games" perhaps alter the screen resolution? Not running/restarting plasmashell does not change anything. Yes, screen resolution might be altered ("game's" resolution is the same as desktop resolution though). The bug does not appear when running the "game" in windowed mode; this mode disables compositor. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[kwin] [Bug 361154] Running native OpenGL games - with compositing enabled - breaks X11 Plasma 5.6.0 Window Decorations
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=361154 --- Comment #12 from Steffen Klee <stkl.m...@gmail.com> --- (In reply to Thomas Lübking from comment #8) > (In reply to Steffen Klee from comment #6) > > > I've experienced this issue after upgrading to plasma 5.6 and I'm using > > radeon driver. > > Does it likewise survive a restart (SHIFT+Alt+F12 twice) of the compositor? Yes, it does. Only restarting computer or running "DISPLAY=:0 kwin_x11 --replace" (generally restarting kwin) does help. (In reply to Bob Wya from comment #9) > glxgears -fullscreen > > doesn't actually run fullscreen (the KDE/Plasma panel remains below the > window). I don't see any compositing issues in this instance (during or post > execution of glxgears). > > I can disable compositing for say the Steam client (in a kwin rule) and > launching a Steam game - does not cause the compositing issues. In either case the > compositing glitching appears. I can confirm all of this is the case for me, too. (In reply to Bob Wya from comment #10) > To be clear... Are you seeing the same shadowing glitching - for all > Windows? (See my screenshot URL above) Yes, exactly, with one exception: Windows without window decorations (e.g. Steam's windows) do not have the glitching obviously, since they aren't affected by any decoration at all. (In reply to Thomas Lübking from comment #11) > you can "kstart5 --fullscreen glxgears" I tried this and it does not suspend the compositor and does not cause the issue. > And depending on your findings (and since you're on gentoo ;-): > https://github.com/luebking/starfield > Even if I'm not using Gentoo (but Arch) I'll report my findings ;-): This does not suspend the compositor either and therefore no issue, too. I tried running another fullscreen application (game Warzone2100) but the same behavior seems to apply. One problem I've encountered with Warzone is, that I can't switch windows when running fullscreen (information: warzone uses SDL fullscreen) which means I can only guess if compositing has been disabled or not. Now I'm asking myself why those programs haven't caused the compositing to be disabled? The program which caused compositing to be disabled (and therefore led to distorted window decorations) was Counter Strike: Global Offensive. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
